1. Thanks Dickie V. "USF is the worst coaching job in the nation. O yea baby. They can't get any diaper dandies to go down there and play now. Hey Sooouth Florida what are youuu going to do now? Seems like trouble." Dickie V is a moron..him, Mel Kiper, Mark Scherleth, Sean Salisbury Steak, and Stephen Smith.

We will get our coach, soon.

Just a clarification, he said toughest not worst.  Big difference between the toughest and worst.

  2. The Pit holds 16,016 and up until recently was sold out for every game.  UNM is also a basketball first school.  They don't fund football the same way most schools do.  Albuquerque loves it's basketball which is why the women's hoops team routinely has 10k at their games.

Basically they just have a different pecking order for their sports.

  3. The Corral gets used for a lot of things.  In addition to Volleyball games and practice, the cheerleaders practice in there when it is available.  Also, the Corral gets booked for outside events.  There are times when our basketball teams, volleyball team, and cheerleaders all have to practice in the Rec Center.

With a basketball facility, they always no where they are going to practice.

  4. The SunDome renovation and the basketball facility are separate projects.  As soon as funding is in place for either we will break ground as soon as possible.  The practive facility will have to come almost solely from private contributions.  The SunDome can be renovated using various sources such as naming rights, increased SunDome profits from other events, and contributions.

  5. I think all the seats will be chairbacks.  Because the SunDome hosts other events it doesn't make sense from that stand point to put bench seats in some of your prime areas.  A timetable I would expect not necessarily for next season but hopefully for the 2008-09 season.  Depends on if we try and do it by phases or all at once.

  6. We are going to invest in the SunDome but it won't look anything like what the Gators have done.  I'm sure this has been discussed before but our plan is to redo the seating, enclosing the corners so that it is a true bowl.  The concourse as it exists will be eliminated and suites will be added.  The second level will be moved forward towards the top of the suites.  It will have more of a look of a smaller St. Pete Times Forum than the Gator Arena.

  7. Please don't tell Jewbull he is ever correct, that's not good for any of us.   ;D

We added several courtside seats two years ago when we moved into the BIG EAST Conference.  Initially it did require at $10k annual contribution, now you must be at one of the cumulative giving levels ($100k, $500k, and $1 million in lifetime giving) plus an additional annual gift of $10k.  Some folks are grandfathered but most are giving $10k.

There are also seats we sell behind the table on each end available for similar contribution.  I personally like those because it offers me some protection from a diving player and gives me a place to put my "pop".

    Hope that helps.

  8. Outback Steakhouse presents the 2007 USF Athletic Auction.  There are ways for everyone to be involved.  You can donate items or attend the event and bid on great items.  The link below will show you how to be involved.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  All of our coaches are usually there and it's a great time.  Good food, open bar, and lots of bargains.  Last years event raised nearly $250,000 for USF Athletics.

  9. Everyone has a right to there opinion, of our soccer teams or of me.  I just chose to let hauling know I didn't agree with his comments about soccer.  Men's soccer actually draws pretty well.

You'd think someone who really went to the games would know that...  ::)

How many soccer games were you at Triple B?

"Pretty well" is to say the least  pretty vague and very subjective.

Attendance isn't bad when the the visiting team brings in a lot of it's fans. IE: Rutgers....there were probably as many Scarlet Knight fans as there were USF fans.  If it weren't for the kids soccer teams and their families the stands would be "pretty empty"...but don't take my word for it, come on out to the games and see for yourself.

    Hauling:

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the men's soccer once again.  Part of the disagreement might just be what is defined as poor attendance or good attendance.  Everyone has different expectations.  My guess is men's soccer is probably our best attended sport other than football and men's basketball.  Baseball may pass them this year but I think it will be close.

Men's soccers average attendance last year for regular season home games was 934.  A low of 377 versus FAU and a high of 2106 versus Stetson (nationally televised game).  Thee poorest attended games were Sundays while other than the Stetson game, the Friday/Saturday night games were best attended (no surprise there).

So everyone can have their own opinion based on these stats which were taken from the official box scores.  And before any one brings it up we don't pad our soccer attendance.  It is the number of people through the turnstile.   ;)  Like I said, it may just be a difference in defining what is good attendance.

  10. Everyone has a right to there opinion, of our soccer teams or of me.  I just chose to let hauling know I didn't agree with his comments about soccer.  Men's soccer actually draws pretty well.  I think women's soccer is going to do better.  I like our new coaches and I think they will do a great job in bringing support to the women's side.

The Bulls Club is doing more and more hospitality at soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, etc.  It is part of our strategy to bring more people out to these games to support our student athletes.  Go Bulls!

  11. Thanks RTB!  That is neither a democratic process nor up to President Genshaft directly.  I don't think she'll bother herself with hiring at this level.  It's really up to Vicki Mitchell with what to do with our organization with a go ahead from Doug Woolard.

Mike will be a huge loss in that he has 26 years of USF history and relationships that can not be replaced.  But his move is great for his family and we of course wish him the best of luck.

And technically I can't be President.  That position is a volunteer position on our board of directors and is currently filled by Bill Terlop (a wonderful guy if you ever get the chance to meet him).  Just wanted to clarify.

  12. Very few people care enough about USF soccer, much less USF Women's Soccer to attend their games.

How many posters here attend USF soccer matches? How many plan to be in Gainesville for the Bulls/Gator match-up?

Actually, the men's soccer team typically draws a good crowd for their games.  I think with our new coaching staff, women's soccer will draw better as well.  I'll certainly be at some of their games and we'll probably do some hospitality at 2 of those games for people that do come to the game.  I'll make sure to leave you off that list.
