BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --  The onetime "Football Capital of the South" could be hosting a postseason game again.

ESPN Regional TV has submitted a proposal with the NCAA to hold a December 23rd bowl game at Birmingham's Legion Field, featuring a team from Conference USA against one from either the Big East or Mid-America Athletic Conference.
