  1. The secondary is just bad and too young right now. We have guys playing that should not be playing right now due to injury or talent. If you guys want to continue to call out Verpaele then you better start calling out Gipson, Trae William, Jenkins and Camon. Those guys did not do well at all. I applaud Camon for making that TD saving tackle early in the game on Williams, but I continue to see him make bad routes to the play. Gibson, there was no excuse for not trying to tackle Williams better on that big play. Jenkins, he never could find were the ball was which gave him no chance at defending the catch for the WRS. Trae Williams, he has been a lost cause since the South Carolina game. There, I called the others out on the secondary for you USF fans because it seems like you point the finger at Verpaele too much.

  2. Hey, I went and I still had a good time even if we lost. I just wish the fans of tampa would support these kids more. It is sad when you have all these fans supporting the spoiled millonaires that play on Sunday, yet they wont support USF because they are bandwagon UF, FSU, or Miami fans. As the late Chris Thomas once said. Tampa is truely the community with no unitiy. USF will get about 20K next week against Pitt with this sorry excuse for a so-called sports city.

  3. Sheriff!!! Amen!!! Amen!!!

I agree with you on this. It is easy to blame the coaching staff on our down year, but what would USF be without them??? I will tell those doubters that USF would still be in the C-USA if it was not for Kravitz and Leavitt. Sure, Mike Hobbie is getting called out, but he has little to work with at QB these last two year. Lets see how Hobbie does with more options at QB next season. If USF does not sniff a winning season because of lack of offense then it is time to can the OC. Right now, I dont blame the coaching staff. We are just too new and young right now. I will see you true USF fans at the Pitt game. USF pride is on the line next week.

  4. Lets relax alittle here. I dont blame the coaching staff at all. I just think we are too young right now. We dont have a QB right now either which is very important to have. The only way Hobbie should go is if you are willing to promote Carl Franks to OC just to keep him from leaving. I still say USF is lacking execution right now with too many bad throws and dropped passes. Hall ran a tough 134 yard when Memphis and they whole crowd knew the ball was going to them. Props for the OC utilizing Crossley more to throw the defense off. Also, that 4th and 2 play was hurt by our time out called by our player. I dont know why it was called, but it really took away a TD from Crossley. I believe USF thought that they had to change it up because Memphis saw that play develop. So, I believe Leavitt/Hobbie called that pitch back play to Hall to hope that Memphis was more concerned about the run up the middle. JMHO. Lets not blame the coaching staff for our youth right now. If USF does not have a winning season next year, then I will start to agree with you that changes need to be made in the coaching staff.

  5. I agree with the Sheriff on this one. It would take a big miracle for USF to beat UCONN. USF is getting better, but we are not up to UCONN's level yet. What this game will do is provide a good measuring stick to see how far we are from UCONN's level. It should be interesting because USF will get to play UCONN each year now that we will be in the BIG EAST. The good news is that Jose Fernandez just keeps improving his talent with recruiting. It will only get better for the women's hoops team.

  6. GURU,

I am not going to rag on JUCO players. Just about every program has JUCO players. If I recall, there were many UCF fans ragging on USF for having JUCO players. You see, I dont wish UCF to lose games like you root for USF to lose. USF has more things to worry about than what UCF is doing. Right now, we are very young, but have some talent. You said so yourself back in August that USF will struggle because of our young players this season. Well, I will give you props for predicting that. However, it is just foolish to think that USF will be down for a long time like you are wishing. USF will be fine.

  7. got it!! Coach McCullum gave you that easy win that you wanted by whipping Stetson tonight. The score was not even that close as McCullum called the dogs off late in the second half. I am telling you that USF has not looked that good is quite some time. McCullum is going to put together a great basketball program in no time IMO. I just hope USF does not let McCullum get away once another program wants him for their coach. I could not believe on how good the USF team looked tonight. G

  8. beastiebull,

You know **** well what this USF program went through last season. How can you make a comment about how far we have fallen when USF has never been really up there for a while. USF has never been ranked in the top 25, and we have not made the NCAAs since 1992. This USF program is in year #2 of rebuilding from that disaster that you know who got us into. This season, USF is going to be without one of their top players in Mosley. I hope you are not expecting miracles because it is not happening this season. Right now, I am going to enjoy each win we can get because there may not be many coming this season. You have to give some credit for USF smacking around a team though. Miami and Florida St lost to lowly teams already this season, so it not impossible for USF to lose to a very bad team. I dont know if you went to the game, but I can tell you that this team looked very good on all aspects of the game. The defense was very good. You cant look at the final score to see how bad we shut them down because there was alot of garbage points made during the last 5 minutes of the game.  USF will be fine with Coach McCullum, but I dont think you or Sheriff want to agree.

  9. Guru,

What is really funny is that a fan from a 0-11 program is trying to talk smack. Guru, I hope you know that UCF will continue to struggle because of you coaching staff. C-USA is tougher than that MAC this season, yet UCF still gets the brass knuckles treatment. There is no way that UCF can ever compete with MEMPHIS, UTEP, USM, UAB, HOUSTON, MARSHALL, etc. Those teams are going to be in your conference next year. UCF cant even hang with Buffalo, so what makes you think that UCF could even win a game next season???

  10. The attendence is going to be looking bad. The marketing for these games are almost non-existant. The deal with the BUCS must not take effect until next season because they really have not done a thing yet. I hope USF starts to market these better next season.  I guess when you are not winning games that it really does not matter. If it was not for ESPN announcing the change, I would think many people would not even know there was a game to be changed. Sometimes, I wish the 1010 was still a sports station because Scott and Ronnie use to talk about the USF game unlike what 620 WDAE does now. Heck, I heard more USF talk on 1470 ESPN Florida than we do with our own so-called sports station.

  11. beastiebull,

You are right. Since day 1, the USF program has been smack talking alot. It wont change with this coaching staff. If you want a change, then you are wanting a new coaching staff IMO. Personally, I dont mind the smack talk as long as there are no penalties that go with it. The UC game was a game that you could not blame the players for making too many penalties.
