  1. I can't knock on UCF for what they are building, it sure does look crappy now but from what I've read it is going to be a real nice place. Bleachers are just one part of the story, they are building a whole entertainment venue around it with restaurants, and shops. I think most of us would be just as excited if something like that was going up in our campus.

  2. Can someone recap please!

    Thanks

    Recap:

-Everyone talked about their plans for Gasparilla

-Mentioned how the coaching shuffle is not really going to affect recruiting.  But just to be safe Wally B. visited OL Lawrence

McCoy in Valdosta, Ga. His commit still stands.

-As we all know R. Marve is a long shot

    - Alton Voss might not be academically eligible

    - We will offer more to make up for recruits that might not qualify

    - TE Kevenski McGee** has USF as his top choice.

    - Talked about that GA recruit that would have committed to USF last weekend but got a last minute call from Auburn telling him that they "might have a spot" for him.

    And that's all I remember.

  3. The Bulls would kill for attendance like this.

    09/02/1978      13-19      L            N.Y. GIANTS      67456

    09/09/1978      7-15      L            DETROIT      64445

    09/24/1978      14-9      W            ATLANTA      58073

    10/01/1978      7-24      L            MINNESOTA      65972

    10/22/1978      33-19      W            CHICAGO      68146

    11/19/1978      31-10      W            BUFFALO      61383

    12/03/1978      7-17      L            GREEN BAY      67754

    12/17/1978      10-17      L            NEW ORLEANS     51207

And who said we wouldn't? Who wouldn't want those attendance numbers for USF games?  :-?

  4. Compare the home game attendance vs the same team in their stadium...An tell me the Bucs weren't drawing good crowds in Tampa.

Of those 67K in Tampa how many were GB fans? And of those 55K in GB how many were Buc fans?

  5. My recollections are a bit different than yours...there were never empty seat (to speak of) in my section...By the time 76 rolled around there weren't any $15 seats left at least not in the west stands...$12 season tickets weren't plentiful either...I don't remember a game in 1978 that my section or the sections near me weren't full...my row was tightly pack for every game...one to many oversized people in a row made it rather cozy on a hot day those old aluminum benches.

A friend of mine moved to Tampa in 78 and couldn't get decent season tickets.

It looks too me like there were around 20K empty seats on average.

'78 was a lot better, but there were still games with 20K+ empty seats.

  6. Also, we need to have some sort of fundraising drive for this board. I was on some serious withdrawal the whole afternoon.  How much will it cost to get the necessary bandwidth or w/e is that is causing the crashing fixed?  If we propose to raise a specific amount by a certain date I think people would be willing to throw down some money. I know there is a paypal link somewhere to donate but that is just sitting there. just a thought.

  7. 1. So. Miss 2002, In our 6th season of F-ball we beat the C-USA team that has the most wins in conf.

    2. Pitt 2001, In our 5th season we beat a team that has won a National Championship.

    3. Louisville 2003, An overtime win I'll never forget

    4. Bowling Green 2002, Beat a nationally ranked team

    5. Memphis 2003, Beat a bowl team at their house when we could have sent it in.

    6. N. Ill. 2002, Pounded a very good MAC team

    7. Houston 2001 1st C-USA win

    8. U Conn 2000 1st IA win

    9. Troy State 2000 Beat them when they we're #1 D1AA

10 Kentucky Wesleyan The 1st one

Amazing how after just two years some of those Top 10 wins seem insignificant now.

  8. I've never heard of a high school band being a sub for a college band IN the stadium.  Maybe little pep rally things or something, but not AT the game.

High School or College, the band sounded pretty good during the game. They were there, I watched the game.

Besides, you won't get all of the school songs and YOUR band!

Thanks for the idea, but I wouldn't do it...

I think a couple of school songs like "The Bull", plus their own songs is better than the ZERO school songs we would get if the HOT doesn't make it.  When you don't have a great budget you shouldn't dismiss things so easily w/o exploring them.

  9. Will anyone ask WHY some USF fans have Homo thoughts on their mind at football games?

I always thought that most folks, when they think of football games, think of things like: Cold Beer, Hot Cheerleaders, TD's, etc...), and not homoerotic thoughts.

I think some USF fans need to visit a shrink to work out their "closet" issues.

Quick, somebody post the picture of the very "masculine" Knight prancing around with his cape after the USF game.
