  1. I have mentioned this before.  We will remain a mid major school until spending on programs increase.

From Equity in Athletics web site. Spending on the football programs (rounded).

    Syracuse     $15,008,000

    Pitt              $12,087,000

    WV             $11,328,000

    UConn        $10,433,000

    Rutgers       $10,667,000

    Louisville     $8,988,000

    Cincy          $7,078,000

    USF            $5,378,000

We have a long way to go.

  2. Face it; we are a mid major school.  Recruiting therefore reflects that.  One year we have a running back and no QB.  This year we have a QB but no K and RB.  Next year will be something else and on and on.  The model to follow to get out of that mid major cycle is Louisville and to an extent Rutgers.  Without a full commitment $$ from the school we are going no where, and if we make the commitment now it will take time.  It took Louisville about 5 years.

I will continue to purchase season tickets as I have since day one, but .500 seasons (prediction) are getting old.  Go to this site and look at expenditures and revenues.

  3. Did not make the game.  Choosing in stead to go fishing with the family since my daughter (who I have not seen in 6 months) is in from London and desperately wanted to go out on the water (cant get trout, snapper and grouper in the UK).  Anyway, how was the pre game tailgate?

    PS

She will be eating fish tomorrow – good day on the water.

  4. ET I have written emails to Brown and Perez (no relation) about the same thing.  I even stopped the paper at home and subscribed to the trib in retribution.  After about a year, the wife wanted the paper back so she could read more about local stories.  I now subscribe to two newspapers, the tribune and you know who.  I read the trib and wife the ledger.

Let me know when you get back to town

    Jess
