i liked what the announcers said in todays game.  they said that its not uncommon for a team to enter into the big east and have a few bad seasons before it gets the talent it needs to compete and this level, look at va tech when they first started out in the big east, i believe it took them a few years to get decent in the big east.  you people expect a miracle to happen over night, when in reality, we are playing in the best basketball conference in the nation, we went from playing mediocore teams to playing top teams every year, its going to take us a few years before we start competing in the big east, no matter who our coach is.

plus people get shot all the time and in every city, even at Fuel and Dallas Bull here in Tampa, it could happen.  its a part of life unforunately, but it is what it is.  every single city has problems with violence, Denver isn't the exception to this rule, and before you get on me like you did with Steve Lurkle, i'm from Miami.

was just thinking that, i believe Zach Thomas is our middle linebacker and he is getting up there in age, i don't know how much longer he has, it would be a great place hor Kawika to come in and learn the ropes from a multi-pro bowler, and future hall of famer (in my opinion).

does anybody know our record at home for our first two seasons in Ray Jay, the 99 and 98 seasons?  i can't find them anywhere on the web

Dude, I think it is safe to say they are becoming a rival for us.

i've been saying all along through all this rivalry talk with ucf that ul is really our rival.  just goes to show you that they can't accept us as a decent team in such a short time of existence when it took them tons of time to get to where they and we are now.

from our own conference teammates.  i post on a message board called www.thesportssummit.com and the UL fans over there are always putting down our program, they have now a thread over there, where two UL fans think our game will be a cake walk for them, that in order for them to get to the national championship and a bcs bowl game, all they have to worry about is getting through Morgantown with a victory.  when i mention our record vs them, they just brush it off, it makes me mad.

Why get mad?   It's the internet.

because after we beat them 50% of the time we have played so far, and for all that we have accomplished in such a short time, its irritating to not get some kind of respect from the UL fans, a team/fans should be giving us some respect for what we have done, and the fact that we are 2-2 vs them.

Then how does the BCS do it while leaving out some of the 119 teams ?

They don't. Every conference receives a cut from the BCS now and they allowed the non-autobid to be easier reached for non auto BCS teams. Thus every team now has access to a BCS bid.

This was the result of the antitrust lawsuit that Tulane was going to bring against the BCS. In stead of going to court the BCS included the little conferemce.

Last year Boise would not have been in a BCS game because they finished 9th in the BCS standings not in the top 6 which was formerly required.

they could do the same thing with an 8 team playoff. 6 BCS conference winners + 2  at large from any of the top 119 as long as they are in the top 9. wouldn't be difficult to get around.

i was thinking the samething Bull94, have the BCS Conference Champs and 2 teams that are ranked in the top 8.  give each team a seed depending on their ranking and pit the teams against each other with the top 2 seeds getting first round byes, and maybe give the #1 seed a two round bye.  you would then have #3 vs #8, #4 vs #7, #5 vs #6 in the first round.

refer to r to the izzo's post.  we sit in our seats every game, all season so far, never had a problem, and then today athletics goes and assigns seats to the students, three people came in the middle of the first half, and told britt that she and faza were in their seats, this is the first time it has ever happened, and it caused all of us who usually sit first row right behind the floor seats to move behind the basket.  never should have happened, and what sucks even more is that those three girls who took faza and britt's seats, didn't really cheer at all, they just sat there.  i blame the loss tonight on the sun dome staff for moving us, where we were seating during the first half, we were winning, we moved and we stunk up the floor and we lost.  

don't you mean tomorrow night?  and how bout them nittany lions?

the only thing i'm worried about is USF going back to its one dimensional offense like they were with Hall here.  I hope they don't and continue to mix it up with passes and runs, considering Grothe can throw the ball.  but who knows with Rod Smith calling the shots for the offense.
