    USF-WVU game moved for ESPN2

The University of South Florida’s 2007 Big East football opener against West Virginia has been moved to Friday, Sept. 28, and will be televised by ESPN2. Kickoff will be 8 p.m. from Raymond James Stadium. The game originally was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29.

Both teams play the preceding Saturday, Sept. 22: USF hosts North Carolina and West Virginia hosts East Carolina.

USF also will play nationally televised contests at Auburn (Sept. 8, ESPN or ESPN2) and at Rutgers (Thursday, Oct. 18, ESPN).

  2. This happens everywhere when the away team wins.  Only New Yorkers are jackasses??  So I take it you guys wouldn't chant "USF, USF" at Auburn next year if we were up towards the end of the game?  Gimmie a break, it happens EVERYWHERE.

This did not happen with a minute or two left this occured with about 12 min to go in the 2nd half, they have every right to cheer on the road, as a USF fan everyone should be embarassed of the amount of fans and the loudness of their cheers in our own house, it mind as well have been a home game for them.

  3. In our house, Our Gym, Our Floor...........It was heard crystal clear to me and I am sure everyone else in the Sun Dome thats the icing on the cake for me, extreamly embarassing when a school more than 1500 miles away brings more fans than you to your house. Even Syracuse fans in the student section, unbelievable, it really shows nobody at USF or this town cares about the Bulls Basketball (which is why there is not more of an up roar by donors, fans & media about the state of the program)

UF women fire Peck, to step aside at season's end

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida women's basketball coach Carolyn Peck was fired Monday, one day after the Gators lost their 13th consecutive game.

Athletic director Jeremy Foley said Peck will finish the rest of the season, then step aside as he begins searching for a replacement. Peck led Purdue to the 1999 national title.

Foley plucked Peck from the WNBA's Orlando Miracle in 2002 with hopes she would put Florida on the same level with Southeastern Conference powers Tennessee, Georgia and LSU.

    It never happened.

The Gators went 69-74 in Peck's five seasons, including a 22-45 mark in conference play. She led Florida to NCAA Tournament berths in 2004 and 2006 and the WNIT in 2005.

But the Gators are 6-20 this season and 0-11 in the league.

"After appraising our women's basketball program over the past few seasons and seeing where we are today, it is evident that a change of coaching personnel is needed," Foley said Monday. "This was a very difficult decision that came after much thought and evaluation. Coach Peck is a talented person with great qualities. She tried very hard to make it work here at Florida, but for whatever reasons, the program hasn't flourished."

Peck thanked Foley for the opportunity, and said she understood his decision.

"The program has not reached the level where we had envisioned it being five years ago," Peck said. "For me, the game is not just about the wins and losses. It's about the development of the players, and I have seen some great improvements from the young women I have coached."

  5. Who else did you really expect to get invited? Realistically Nicholas is the only Bull that will be drafted this year.

    Yep.

And I doubt he'll be much higher than a 4th round selection at that.

Who even knows any more, last yr everyone including himself thought Andre Hall would go early second day, and look what happend to him. I wonder if Nicholas's agent is Jeffrey Klein

( I believe thats his name) he represents both J.R. Reed & Hall.

  6. Gentleman,

Start looking at the players who choose USF and notice the other schools that offered scholarships.  With my quick glance, I am seeing the FIU, NC, Auburn, NC State and UCF are schools we are winning players from.  To me that is a great sign

Not much of an accomplishment beating out FIU & UCF for recruits, in fact we should be beating schools from everyone conference that is ranked below the Big East as an overall football conference.
