  1. Well...our good buddy at the Tribune (I'll let you guys figure out who it is) has already put a story in today's sports section talking about CJL as a candidate for the UM job.  Man this guy really wants to see him go.

St. Pete Times...not a word.  Just another good follow up story on the win in Morgantown.

  2. Come on...it wasn't that hot.  Plus...wearing a darker color doesn't make that much difference in hot weather.  Ask anyone who has played games in hot weather (90 degrees +) games.  Pitt would have already been hot just from the fact they haven't played in the heat in a while.  The color of their jersey isn't going to have much impact.

  3. Still can't get over the fact that some people really have issues with our game times at noon.  You know...I never here UF or FSU fans complaining about what times their teams play.

I want to tell those people to shut up and show up for the game and support your alma mater, hometown team, etc.

Just have to be patient and what another 5 to 10 years when we have had several alumni's go through USF with a solid tradition of football.

USF Football Game Against Syracuse On Nov. 11 To Kickoff At 12 Noon

Tampa, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2006) - The University of South Florida announced this afternoon that its Saturday, November 11 football game with Syracuse at Raymond James Stadium will kick off at 12 noon. In addition, all parking lots at RJS will be open at 9 a.m.

  5. Again...not impressed with the offensive play calling.

Now when it comes to people talking about coaching changes I have to laugh.  This are probably the same people last week saying we have a legit shot at running the table or coming close.  We lose to UC and it's Katie bar the doors and let's fire someone.

I won't make any references to getting rid of CJL until he has had at least 5 years in the Big East.  Don't people understand that we have moved from I-A independent, C-USA, to a BCS conference in less than 10 years???  That has an effect on the quality and type of players we are able to go after.

You have to give him time to recruit several Big East quality athletes before you can start calling for his head or anyone elses.  This team is extremely young and has won the games they should have and lost the games they were suppossed to lose.  We weren't favored in any of the 3 losses (UC was close as it went back and forth from USF +1 to UC +1).

  6. Coming into this game USF was 13 for 13 inside the red zone the last three games.  11 touchdowns and 2 field goals.  I'd say that is pretty good %'s.

We just had poor field position and horribly execution from the start.  Not sure why we were not throwing down the field early on instead of those short out patterns to the receivers out of the backfield.  They went with Ponton early and for some reason stopped way too soon.

  7. We're going to go to Rice, to Southern Miss, to Marshall, all the way to Memphis, and then to Houston, and then come home and take it to South Florida....yyyyeeeeeeaaaaawwwwwwwww (**** wish I could insert the Dean Scream :-))

    Also..."Look Mom, it's my best T-Rex impersonation".

  8. Thanks for the info.  So...where is the best place in Lawrence to get some BBQ??

Looks like the weather will be somewhat cool and raining??  Actually cold for us Florida boys but probably not for you all.

Look forward to a good game and a good college atmosphere from what I hear.

  9. Are you for real smazza?  Come on man...Gload is making good money compared to most of us but lets not forget that a major league baseball players avg carear is less than 3 years.  He is making league minimum and would be hard for him to lock up a large major league deal being a platoon guy.

If you want to look at major league salaries...check out USAToday sports online.  They have all salaries listed.  For example...Erstad has made 8.75MM, 8.25MM, and 7.75 MM in the past 2 years and over 44.67MM in his 10 year major league carear.

Ross has made 350K, 335K, and 302K in his 3 year carear.

Gload is a pure hitter and if given the chance I'm sure he would hit .300 each year.  But he's not going to hit 20 hrs and drive in 100 RBI's and that is what this game has unfortunatley turned into.

I'm sure Ross and his wife have given as much as they are capable of...just as each of us have I'm sure.
