But my question is, why is it the problem? Just because our school or conference doesn't have a seat at the CFP dinner table, doesn't mean we deserve one.
^^^Yes you did say exactly that, thanks.
Then again you also said that the NCAA is a for profit organization.
You also seem to think that programs like USF can just pick and choose whoever we want to schedule. As if P5 schools are just waiting for USF's call to schedule them. As if, because of the split between G5 and P5, playing programs like USF benefits them any where close to the degree that it potentially harms them.
You appear to be as incapable of being logical and fair-minded as the very system you are trying to defend so I see no point in continuing the conversation. There is obviously no persuading you despite logic and facts. Maybe you've been brainwashed like many of the P5 fans. Its just strange to hear this coming from a USF fan who's program is being damaged and marginalized at the hands of people who could care less whether or not your favorite team even existed. .

us beating them this year is no less likely than them beating us last year.

We better freaking show out in the stands and on the field.

I have a feeling it is gonna be ugly in the stands at our game.

I'm really tired of hearing about them. Today was the 5th or 6th time they've been talked about extensively up here. This morning it was about how their fans are planning on crashing the Jville cocktail party between UGA and UF and having their signs all over Gameday. Hugh Douglas recommend to UGA and UF fans to essentially knock them out. Their fan base is getting the rep of being clueless and obnoxious which we've known for a long time. The other host John Fricke stated that if c would make it about the G5 as a whole instead of just themselves then the rest of the nation would take them more seriously which is a great point. As it stands they are coming off as selfish buffoons and now the entire country knows it.
We have to beat these guys and put ourselves on the map and remove them from it. In my mind its the biggest game in program history. If and when we do, we should learn from their mistakes.

But my question is, why is it the problem? Just because our school or conference doesn't have a seat at the CFP dinner table, doesn't mean we deserve one. If we made the CFP as a 4 team playoff and lose, that is really special, if we make it as an 8 team playoff, well, it just means we won our conference. We talk about how UCF winning the AAC is not as difficult as it was when we were in the BE, it's because we know that it's way harder to play well week in and week out. We know that just the top few teams in the AAC are as good as most P5 conferences, so there is some truth to an 11-1 Bama getting in over a 13-0 UCF who had to play Tulsa, Tulane, UCONN, ECU etc. I have great pride in our school and conference, but I'm also a realist. If you take an objective view of the system, it's actually not bad at all. For the most part every CFP game has been great, sure there's been a Mich State game here or there, but overall, the best teams have been there; that's all we can really ask for as college football fans.
So you don't believe that every program in a Division deserves a shot at the title for said division?
What other endeavor does that even apply to? None, except college football. Which is unfair.

They will do this to whichever team from the G5 is doing well. If it were us pushing the top 10 it would be the same rhetoric + "commuter school bs".

Stanford, California.... I seem to recollect that California had a run to the top 5 somewhere around the same time we did.
Yep forgot about Stanford and Cal. Still don't remember all 4 of them being that good at the same time but I could very well be and probably am mistaken.

I’d like to think Texas or California might have done it before too...
Man I can't think of 4 schools in either or those states that were any good at the same time -
In Texas - Tex, Houston, Texas Tech, and aTm - MAYBE but its a real long shot. They all seemed to have been good in different eras.
Cali?? USC, UCLA and then who? SDSU? Fresno State??
My money is on this only ever happening in the State of Florida. I wonder why it doesn't get more pub? Its quite an accomplishment.

What can carry over for the rest of the season is the 4th quarter in its entirety. 15-0.
It really looks like something clicked during those 15 minutes and I believe we will see a different team going forward.

When they split the G5 from the P5 they all but ensured any G5's SOS would NEVER be good enough. Its the definition of a stacked deck.
