  1. Per Brett McMurphy in the Tampa Tribune:

RECORD CROWD: More than 20,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday's game with Florida A&M, and USF officials are expecting a record crowd of at least 50,000. This will be the first USF game in Raymond James Stadium that the upper deck will be open.

The 20,000 figure does not include student tickets or projected walk-up sales. To handle the crowd, additional ticket booths will be added on the northeast side of Raymond James Stadium. Tickets also can be purchased Saturday on the south side of the stadium, but USF officials recommend buying tickets earlier in the week.

Individuals have the option of printing their tickets. For information, go to www.gousfbulls.comand click on the "Get individual tickets" link or call 1-800-GoBulls.

FAMU's Marching 100 band and USF's Herd of Thunder each will perform at halftime.

Does that include 15000 season tickets?

  2. hello. i was at FAD, but don't know that it's the kind of event that usually gets much coverage after the fact, except maybe to say weather was great and turnout was strong, etc.

tribune didn't really address it today either, except for the note on the strange JR Reed schedule magnet. both papers had notes from talking to players and coaches at FAD, and ran a few reminders of when and where in the days leading up. i think that's the best way to handle something like that. wish we could have gotten a photo from there though -- between Jon Simmons' puppy, the autograph booths and some of the adorable little kids running around, there was no shortage of fun images ...

    New photographer?  ;)

  3. I agree the times coverage has stepped up.  Unless there is something I am missing here let us not be petty too.  Brett has been kind to us over the years when he had many opportunities to really rip us.  He also has been fair when writing negative stuff that should be reported, but in places like gainesville and tally get swept under the rug.  He's no homer, but he is also appears to be a fan.  Nothing wrong with that.  In fact, it was the Times we should be cautious about.  They haven't been so kind to us over the years.

Maybe Greg is being granted some access that other reporters are not due to our affiliation?  I don't know.

Either way thanks for the stuff both guys write.  Message board fans are a tough crowd.
