Amarri Jackson was also named Player of the Week on the Top 10 player page.
Cavalcade of Whimsy is not out yet, but I would expect a mention there too, if only for the "double digit home underdog" theory the author Fiutak has been promoting.

People are actually taking UM -21? That is an awful lot to give up in a game between two teams that have strong defenses, and so-so offenses.
-
I have no doubt UofL will be the honorary #5 this week. That position always goes to the team that suffers the worst loss in the previous week. And I don't think there's anything disrespectful to USF about it.

a)  the odds were against winning a fourth straight coin toss
Actually, that's incorrect. The odds of winning a coin toss are 50-50 no matter how many you won (or lost) previously.
Just had to be a pedant and point that out.
Great question though. Sure had me guessing.

I guess CFN thinks that there will be at least 4 other Big East teams that are bowl eligible.
Remember, Notre Dame can take the Gator Bowl slot in place of a Big East team. Which will happen, unless they get into a BCS bowl or fail to qualify at all.
That leaves only three bowl openings for Big East teams: The BCS bid, Charlotte, and Phoenix.

In 2003 Ronnie Banks played the best game of his career. We need that sort of effort from Pat Julmiste to have a shot. A reprise of last year's TCU game would be nice.

ON SIDE KICK
No, I think there's a good chance we'll be doing that at some point vs UofL...
-
So any way, these four bus loads of UL students, a priest, a rabbi and a blind dog pull into Raymond James Stadium and see trash strewn all over the lots....
...and the priest says to the rabbi, "what are you doing here?" And the rabbi says, "I was told that a lot of my people were in South Florida." And the priest says, "no you're thinking of 'south' Florida. We'll see you at the Miami game next week." The rabbi leaves.
Then the priest turns to the Louisville fans and says "did you make this mess?" And the blind dog says, "it wasn't them, Father." And the priest says, "how do you know?" And the blind dog says, "I don't smell any Geritol."

Also, tickets to UM games aren't exactly hard to get (FSU and other national powers excepted). I suspect that a lot of USF alums in the area are buying tickets locally or plan to walk up.

Hold the opposing defense to no sacks during meaningful game action.

Sorry, I didn't see the other thread.

I can't believe there's not a thread about this tale yet:

Short version: Will tried to call his family from Spain, but accidentally got connected to a stranger in Plant City, who helped him locate his family.

Didn't Michael Bush used to be a QB as well?

Football: Three Teams Added to Future Grid Slate
By Shelly Poe for MSNsportsNET.com
September 15, 2005
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University has added Auburn, Florida State and Michigan State to its future football schedules, athletic director Ed Pastilong announced today.
West Virginia will travel to Auburn for a game at the SEC school on September 6, 2008. The Tigers will visit Morgantown on September 5, 2009.
In 2012-13, the Mountaineers will play home-and-home with Florida State of the ACC. The first game is scheduled for September 8, 2012, in Morgantown, with a return game on September 14, 2013, in Tallahassee.
West Virginia also has a letter of intent to play Michigan State out of the Big Ten, with a game in Morgantown in 2010 and a game in East Lansing for 2011.
"I think our fans will enjoy these three major college football programs from BCS conferences on our future schedules," says Pastilong. "We look forward to hosting them in Morgantown."
A two-game series with Mississippi State was previously announced. The Mountaineers will play in Starkville on October 7, 2006, and the Bulldogs will return the trip to West Virginia on October 20, 2007.

Actually, the boxscore at gousfbulls.com only shows one illegal participation penalty against UCF.
-
Against USF, UCF was penalized once for having 10 men on the field
Huh? They penalize you for that? I thought they just let you run the play shorthanded.
-
Michael Bush? Reggie Bush? All my posts on this thread have been about GEORGE Bush. (Really. Go read them again.)
-
I once heard the University of Miami fan base described as "a mile wide, and an inch deep." That sums it up.
-
I fear Bush... Bush is my worst nightmare... Shut down Bush and we stand a chance.
Yes! Finally, somebody gets it.
-
They're not in the Top 25 of the CFN Rankings either.
-
You're right, it is all media politics. And is anyone surprised that there are favors involving the Sugar Bowl?
-
I don't think Bush is going to win any awards this year.
-
Hall, obviously. Bush constantly drops the ball and has no leadership skills.
-
I guess I'm curious if it is just message-board types declaring "we're too good for this to be a rivalry" or do all students and folks associated with the game feel the same way and never want to see it played again.
Frankly, I think it's more message-board types saying "we're too good for this to be a rivalry." As was noted earlier in the thread, a LOT of current students cared enough to go to the game. They're the ones whose desires ought to carry the most weight.
Besides, status can change, and it can change quickly. It's not so long ago that UCF was having good I-A success and we were losing to the likes of Elon and Western Kentucky. A long term series, if played, will likely be more even than it looks at the moment.
Big games coming
in American Athletic Conference

Three Big East vs ACC games this week:
South Florida at Miami
Syracuse at Florida State
Virginia Tech at West Virginia
If the Big East wins all three, they would be 4-2 against the ACC for the season. That would shut the critics up for awhile.
