I have no idea what will happen next but it’s always a good thing when the media sheds a positive light on you. It also makes being an alum / fan so much better.

We were #2 once…
Let’s not make “we were #25” the new “we were #2”

Guess that explains why his actual attendance at recent USF games has been down. Kidding. F*ck cancer and get well soon, Joey.

Don't they have pills for that nowadays?
Making a call on a new coach after so few games is always a bad idea. Sometimes you will be right, but it is pretty clear at this point that Coach Abdur-Rahim is capable and adaptable. Just took a bit to get things to mesh and find the footing. That’s ED also known as entitled dissent, of which many here also suffer. There is no cure for this ailment.

Reminds me of some In Game Threads with the premature evaluations .....
Sadly, many people on this site suffer from premature evaluations…

Pat Forde seems to think we might have a chance even if we fall short of an AAC tourney trophy.

Did PanchoSanchez predict a Top 25 ranking? What about a natty prediction?

Appreciate the thought experiment, but I’m too happy enjoying the moment. I’ve seen enough dark days of USF men’s basketball and football to let questions like this take away the shine.
As the great Stoic Marcus Aurelius once said, live, laugh, love.

What a great problem to have. We’ve been a PG desert for a long time, minus Laquincy and AC.
-
Hines said “put some respect on my name.” He had a solid game today. Pryor as well.

If we got 50% of defensive rebounds, this game would be a blow out. BOX OUT.

You can tell the kid has finally found his game at this level. He’s very smooth and his confidence will keep growing.

They are relentless, quick hands, play through the possession, only reason they are competitive today
Poor boxing out, a few unlucky bounces that landed in SMU hands, and SMU is a step quicker to the board.
-
Control the boards and this game leans more towards the Bulls. I’m ready for CY to turn up in the second half.
-
Refs need to clean this game up. Don’t mind physicality in the game but pretty clear SMU wants to bulldoze their way through the game.
-
Not getting boards and turnovers are reason this game is tight. Let’s see how they respond in the second half. I trust CAAR knows what to switch up.

Turnover city. Need to clean up the ball movement. SMU is hedging the three ball on the perimeter. Need to look to get ball low when that happens, e.g., slip screens.

While I agree...
I believe seeing central florida get a Big12 invite and USF left out was the wake up call that our admins needed.
The past 18 months have mostly been stellar. I wish we had this energy across the board when the Big East was collapsing.
Why didn't we break ground for an IPF/OCS when Taggart was turning the program around?
Great question. Seems like admin leadership turnover is the key variable that has changed. Sad they couldn’t figure out earlier that academic and athletic excellence are not mutually exclusive (see Duke, UVa, Michigan, and so on).

I think he needs to make noise in the tourney for a big-time school to poach him. We shall see…

I can’t believe SEC ranking inflation has hit men’s basketball. None of those teams are good, except maybe Tennessee. Alabama at 13 is hilarious. They beat no one of consequence in non-conference, got beat by a crap Ohio St. squad, and feasted on mediocre SEC teams.
-
Pancho, what’s your number? I think we should all get one of those free readings.
-
“Winners win.”
Move on, rest, and prep for another big home game on Sunday.

How many lay ups has Pryor missed tonight?

They all look lost and in a stupor. Must still be hungover from Sunday. This is downright embarrassing.
This will be the toughest game of the season

Many in the media are hyping USF and that will (in part) drive positive views of an at-large bid. Gotta win this game to keep the hype train rolling.
