  1. I think the only place you can buy a beer will be in the stadium. There will be plenty of beer in red solo cups in all the tailgate areas. When I was in school the campus was completely dry and if tailgating you would have to somewhat hide your beverage of choice. Now it is pretty much in the open. I would just bring a cooler in your car and pack a few roadies for your walk around to the game. You will see a lot of red solo cups and even just drinking in the open. You should be fine - just don't over advertise too much that you are drinking - but again it will not be an issue. I doubt there will be much of a crowd. If the students hang around - which is unlikely due to long holiday weekend - the atmosphere will be better. Who knows - our fans are fair-weather for the most part. First game of the season so who knows. My gut says you cover the 13.5 and have a 50/50 of a win. We have a tendency to underperform in first game. Head for shaded seats in your section. The sun will be hitting you guys directly. Get water early - our concessions tend to be slow, understaffed and will run out of water by the 3rd quarter. I will be the guy drinking bourbon - if you see me - say hello...:) Cheers.
  2. Refer to the tailgate map for the areas discussed below. If you are not looking to tailgate and just want to park and be somewhat close to everything, I would go ahead and pay to park in Parking Structure 1 (PS1 on the map). I don't park there, but it appears to only be $10. You will be a short walk to the stadium and will pass by the student center, and a few of the public areas. Now, for some reason, most visiting fans seem to gravitate towards the Creason Lot. You will probably find many of your fans there. It is paved and not really a long walk. I should be free. But the area is generic and will be hot as snot in the midday sun. The PS1 will be covered. If you want to see the real / older part of campus I would recommend a walk up the hill and work your way towards the inside of campus at the top of the hill. Beer is sold inside the stadium. Not really an on-campus bar or a bar within walking distance that I would recommend. Most are a little further away, but probably could find something if in a pinch. Hell, someone will give you a drink if you just ask nicely... Downtown Bolling green is a nice little area and will have a bar or two. Doubt there will be much of a crowd give long weekend and the heat will keep the drive by fans away. As such, you should be able to move seats easily. If you are sitting on the lower section where they throw the visitor fans, you will be in direct line of the sun. The sun and heat will be Brual. However, on the lower level, you can move up near the concourse and a few of the rows will be in the shade. I would hit that ASAP. Someone is staying at the Hyatt I think.... I will be an easy walk - but remember - we are called hilltoppers for a reason, so it isn't exactly flat.. You will be close to the top of the hill, so a short walk to the center of campus toward College Street might be worth it and then down the middle to where the stadium. It would be a little out of the way - but a good way to see the area. If you do it right, you will see the old football stadium bleachers and Collonade that now looks over the fine arts building and library. Enjoy your time. It really is a beautiful campus, especially if you have time to explore up the hill and around the Cherry Hall and work your way down the middle of campus and side away from the stadium. .... let me know if I missed anything. Cheers my fellow fans
  3. Tailgating map. 2021 Football Tailgating and Parking Map - Western Kentucky University Athletics (wkusports.com) If you call the ticket office at 1-800-5 bigred and ask for the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation, they might be able to hook you up with better tailgating spots. Most of the visitor spots are on paved parking lots. The closer ones on grass lots are typically harder to grab for visitors.
  4. Game day info. Link from last year - but should still be good. Western Kentucky University Athletics WKUSPORTS.COM 2022 WKU Football Gameday Guide (Complete A-Z Policies and Procedures Guide) Ticket...
  5. 79, Most of the students will be in section 125-129 and on the grass berm to the left - near our band. Not sure how many fans or students will be in attendance over Labor Day. Students have a tendency to go home over long weekends. Looking forward to the first game. Have a safe trip to Bowing Green. Cheers.
