Mack should do what is best for his future...
However, he may have a great chance this year to pad his stats and get bigger
also, it's nice to graduate
True. But the graduation argument isn't a strong one accept only for the typical Joe IMO. Many former NFL players (and other professional sports figures) return to finish up their degree. Some also go on to become coaches, commentators, etc. My biggest fear (and a strange one) is that if Mack does very well against South Carolina and with other RB's already deciding to stay that his stock would rise and thus increasing his chances of hitting the jackpot. It's really all so bittersweet.

Also with the new regime, he may not fit the prototypical Charlie Strong mold and not want to take any chances.

I was doing some research and realized he has a legitimate shot at making the pros (4-6 round) if he declares. All it takes is an agent talking in his ear and he's gone. I can almost hear the "What if you get injured?" speech coming if it hasn't already. SIAP

I wasn't sold on his high profile gimmicks and coaching technique at first (not to mention we stunk bad for 2 seasons), but he found a way to rely on Mack and Flowers to get us to a decent season. Good luck Coach T!

It looked worse on TV than just 16,585. Even the 50 yard line section near the field was sparse. Do we go the OCS route next?

Dodd probably saw it since it was readily available and was impressed by it, just like a lot of us, but the comment I was responding to wasn't about Dodd, it was about us.
Geez, my comment was about Dodd. And I was asking if anyone had any link or such for any of the other presentations. It's like you go out of your way to be an ass sometimes.

I dont get why UCF being a "competitor down the road" is enough to knock us behind them. The best this writer could come up with in favor of them is recruiting in florida.. which we offer as well ? Doesn't make sense, especially after he praised our presentation.
Just playing devils advocate, but what other presentations are out their for us to compare ours too? I haven't been able to find any others.

From what I have read there is mandatory pro rata whether its 2 ($400 mil) or 4 new teams ($800 mil) for this contract. Location does not matter until the next negotiation.
If that's the case, we might see both BYU and Boise St getting football-only invites.

Elephant in the room. Are these the type of guys we should expect with this years recruiting class? Not much going on in the offers department.
-
We really need an OCS.

You were probably thinking about UCF and their recruiting violations ...
How did I know you would show up and play the accusations game again? Get off my junk loser.

Learn to read, concern troll. It's not recruiting violations.
Excuse me I meant to type "academic" violations.

It just sucks that if the Big 12 was on the fence between us and another candidate that this ends the tie-breaker. All it takes is the opposing voters to say "Hey, weren't they just put under NCAA investigation for recruiting violations?" That would seal our fate.

The problem now is that the damage has already been done. With Oliver resigning, it shows that violations were done. It removes questionable behavior.

This news couldn't have come at a worse time. With the Big 12 already filtering through Baylor's debacle, how do you think the presidents will feel about having another cloud over the conference?! This is complete cowsh1t! Academic violations are probably viewed worse than athletics. Was this "Kentucky rules" inspired? If so, at least they are already in a mecca conference and basically have nothing to lose, but for us being in a G5 we have little to no room for error and then this happens! Judy needs to step up and give some kind of conference to address this pronto.

Either way, we need to get something going here. ucf just nabbed another target.

If I remember correctly, wasn't he a 5 star at one time?

Who's left on the board?

So little brother has received commitments from 6 players who hold USF offers. What are we doing behind the scenes? Usually we have recruiting battles that we win some, they win some, but this is embarrassing right now.

What are you thoughts what else could be going on ?
As we are approaching a recruiting dead period, with practically no activity (new commitments, twitter hints, insider info, etc.) it just seems that the staff is being suspiciously passive for some reason. I really hate to reflect by bringing this up, but didn't Taggart have an interview with South Carolina over the off season for a coaching position? Could another be in the works? Just my opinion, which is purely speculation.

Hopefully this doesn't speak for something else going on.

Of course there's some legitimacy to it, but I'd hope we are going after some better OL targets anyways. He doesn't look too impressive. By the way, aren't you a UCF guy?
He's impressive enough for us to give him an offer:

No one in the American is going to land all 3-stars and higher. Especially when it comes to linemen. We want him on the team, so you can downplay it all that you want. It's been too quiet for recruiting lately.
Houston, ucf, Memphis and even ECU is way out in front. Perhaps Tags is waiting for Miami to have a mutiny.
