  1. Not to verge into the Mad Cow political area, but GW Bush did have a DUI and that did not prevent him from becoming President. His effectiveness as President is debatable, but that is not the point I am trying to make.

Are USF's standards that high? How about getting graduation rates up first before declaring yourself the "Harvard of the South"

USF requires a degree to be a coach. If he doesn't meet the minimum requirements, he cannot be hired. The same thing happened when Chucky Atkins was trying to be an assistant coach for the men's basketball team.

  2. He signed a contract and USF pulled it? I'm glad I woke up to this F'ing crap. We're going to be a national joke. If it's the derby thing someone needs to be fired. You can find that out by doing a google search.

    I'm so pissed right now.

    Who is youngskywaker?

  3. Oh he will definitely will be out on the town. We would see him all the time out and about. Can't blame him. Single dude. Yeah Coach P told him he should take the USF job, he probably wouldn't have if UL was going to be playing you guys since he know everything we do...lol. Since we won't play each other anymore I'm sure he is good with it. Coach P will have a place to stay in Tampa when he comes down to golf.

There's a nightlife in Louisville? Or was he spotted at the local tractor pull?

You making the statement proves one thing to me......You've never been to Louisville. Great nightlife and town. Tractor Pull comment is original though. Thanks for that.

I have been to Louisville. We had some family friends move there. People were very nice, just not the lifestyle for me.

  5.

@BryanDFischer: Whoa. RT @DanWetzel: Buzz Williams will leave Marquette to become the next coach at Virginia Tech, Y!Sports source.

Yep for a 7 year deal by reports. Look if you are not going to spend the money and be aggressive then you will continue to come up short. Auburn and Va Tech zoned in on a guy and aggressively pursued and got their man. Meanwhile USF just continues to wait around until Harlan starts Monday.

Didn't they already hire company to find a coach? In theory, shouldn't they be already out searching?

  6. I am literally amazed that you've met enough MU fans in your life to have developed a stereotype.

Also, Marquette is an excellent school. Why is it such a shock that they'd think their school is better than someone else's?

I spent the first 26 years of my life in Milwaukee and spent many nights on their campus. I was going to MU basketball games long before I ever attended USF.  I've been to Marquette bars, I've been to Marquette parties. I know more MU alumni than USF. My extended family has more MU graduates than any other school. So yes, I know enough MU fans to have developed a stereotype.

It's not thinking that their school is better, it's the idea that our school is garbage.

  7. The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa on Lake Geneva is a very nice place to stay. I think it is an hour or less from Madison. Last time I stayed there it was the Americana Hotel. The first time I was there, it was the Playboy Club.

The Milwaukee Museum of Art is an amazing place.

    Brewery tours are always great.

South Milwaukee still has more bars per capita than any city in the nation, one on every street corner. You'll run into every type of pub and bar imaginable.

There used to be a bar at the Hwy. 100 exit on I-94, that had the best polish sausage sandwich I've ever had.

I don't know what Milwaukee does with the Summer Fest grounds on the lakefront that late in the season, but used to be a festival every weekend out there all summer.

There used to be an historical plaque at the welcome center on I-94 as you enter Wisconsin from Illinois. It said, "The people of Wisconsin drink one third of all beer brewed in the United States."

Some of the friendliest people I've met, are the people of Wisconsin. I lived in Milwaukee for 3 years. Still one of my favorite places on earth.

Wisconsin people are very friendly and helpful. I spent the first 26 years of my life in Milwaukee and miss it every once in a while. I love to go back and visit every now and then but I don't ever think I could life there again, Tampa Bay is just too beautiful. I really miss the food though.

If you're planning on going to a strip club I highly recommend spending your money on beer instead. The women in Tampa > women in Milwaukee, it's not even close.

Avoid Milwaukee's north side. You'll never make it out alive.

If you have the time do a brewery tour. You can sample many different types of beer and get trashed for fairly cheap.
