You would hope they left the decision to the players ...

Agreed. As someone said, no matter the decision it'll be the right one.

And I do think for USF if we get invited, the decision will be left for the kids bc something tells me that CAAR is disgusted by being left out of the NCAAT and would probably rather defer to the kids than say no on his own account.

I'm not clear how all this works but it seems that instead of losing to CMU, Mass and whomever, had we lost by 40 to Duke, Kentucky and UNC we'd be in the tournament?

Yes. Bc those would be quad 1 strong losses LMAO. Ridiculous logic but I think it's how it works.

USF wasn’t as impressive because they beat teams in a bad conference (AAC) yet FAU failed to finish first and didn’t win the tournament in the same conference.

It looks like even if we went undefeated in conference play we still wouldn’t have been selected.

Agreed however, CMU and Maine losses were devastating blows to our chances. Think of those were erased we'd be closer to making it in.

I think the conference is terrible and we need out but I think we should look at those horrendous losses as well.

Devastated right now but not surprised at all.

Is it the refs when both games vs UAB they got to the line much more than us? Maybe they just are bigger/stronger and play a style that lends to the refs making the calls.

We had long stretches of missed shots.

That's a bingo. Same as when we first played Charlotte. They were really physical and made for a tough match up.

    32 minutes ago, Dave_Glaser said:

Yep. They are a bad matchup for us right now because of how physical they play and how hard they take it to the rim. Not having Corey Walker may have been the difference in this game.

Corey Walker is a major difference maker. His physical defense and especially rebounding would have made for a closer match up.

Now I'm curious what he was going to say about Hines and Jose that would get him fined...

Same here. All I could think is that the refs weren't giving them the benefit of the doubt as they were physically getting man handled. Oh and smacked on the nose, literally.

Unfortunately I feel like we will get screwed for some mediocre P5 team.

Yep agreed. And now that Temple beat FAU we are done done. Two teams from the conference was already a long shot but now no way for us as a 3rd is out of the question.

It’s pathetic and shows you the regular season doesn’t matter for non “p5” schools. To me winning the regular season should be held higher than winning a few games in 1 week.

EXACTLY! How dumb. I know ppl will chime in and say well that's how the sports always been played. Well it is plain dumb. Regular season should be a HUGE deal. Oh well. We need out of the G5 ASAP but everyone here knows that.

whats stings even more is Temple is going to beat FAU

WTF this is a **** show!!!!!

In case there was any doubt that we were out, that door just got ******* slammed.

Some ****** 11 seed temple team or a mid pack UAB team is about to get a birth in the tournament???!?? FML.

Who cares, ironically they still go to the Dance while we don’t even though we won the same conference by a large margin. Life ain’t fair bro, never has been

Dude no kidding. Prime example. As CAAR said Bracketologists be better!

Thanks for posting but too soon for me ...

I'll tell you that's how I still feel, but then I watched. Something about CAAR that gives you swagger and he just keeps it real. He doesn't try to even be nice about how lame the system is to keep out a regular season conference champ out of the tourney.

Thanks for posting!!! This is exactly what I needed to get to over the blues.

Love and I mean love this coach's demeanor and energy. This dude just put out a WWF style promo to call out the bracketologists wooooooo!! As the man said what kind of example are we giving these young men if we are going to leave out the most consistent team in the conference. Come on Bracketologists BE BETTER!!!

Crap foul calls, bad turnovers, and poor interior defense and rebounding cost us the game. Unfortunate result for a squad that could’ve done better.

Yeah. Unfortunate when the game gets taken over by the refs, especially towards the end. Both teams battles hard and UAB made good use of their fouls knocking some of our guys out of the game to disrupt any rhythm.

Was an amazing run.  Never expected it TBH.  Now we can build on our great season and make some noise in whatever postseason CBB tournament we are invited to.  I look forward to it.

Same came out of nowhere. While I'm still struggling to find the positive energy, at the end of the day Go Bulls let's win whatever is up next for us.

  10. I went back and forth on starting a thread for this as I'm not a fan of pity parties.

But man I'm really feeling down after that game. It really stings.

Feel bad for this team and players bc they deserve so much more after winning the **** regular season championship outright.

I hate to sound ungrateful for a potential NIT spot especially after such an incredible season. But really for us to come up short after being so resilient and winning the big ones during the season it really blows to have it end this way.

    I do have a question,

how often does the regular season conference champ also win the conference tourney?

    Well looking at Wikipedia.

Looking since 2013-2014 (Not counting COVID AND counting Louisville's vacated titles)

    You have 9 samples.

So 5/9 times that regular season champs won the AAC tourny as well.

Taking it a step further looking at the 4 times where regular season champs didn't win both:

2 out of those 4, the regular season champs made it to the AAC tourny finals but lost.

The other 2 of those 4 the regular season conference champs made it to the semi's.

Sooooo... the worst a regular season conference champion has done is reach the semi's of the tournament. I like those stats.

Today we were the ol south Florida. At least for all the new fans you’ll finally get to experience a losing post game talk by the coach

Well I agree with you to where we were we could not make a basket to save our life.

That reminded me of some of our old South Florida games where I would hold my breath hoping that we find a way to make a shot.

This game was so painful, kept wondering where offense was going to come from. Apparently no answer to be found.

Not going to get an atlarge. Need to regroup and win the tourney

Yep this L hurts us BAAAD... Dang it.

Team shooting was atrocious today. Hoping that it's out of our system and gave us a huge reality check going into the conference tournament. Bummer.
