  1. Ok, so here's my problem. Me and my wife bought tickets several months ago to a concert without realizing that the concert is scheduled for the same day as the season opener for our Bulls. The concert starts at 2, but there are quite a few bands scheduled to play so it is likely to last into the first part of the game, perhaps longer.

I like all the bands that are coming to this show, but not like I LOVE my USF Bulls football. For my wife, I think it is more important for her to see some of these bands than it is to see most of the football game. She loves USF and graduated from there this past May, so she's a fan of USF but not as into football and sports in general as I am. She just sees that we're opening the season against a school she's never heard of and doesn't see the importance of being there for opening kickoff to the first game of the season!

We've been married about a year and half now, and my question is, how should I go about trying to convince her to leave the concert early enough to make opening kickoff when it means she will miss the bands she really wants to see? And also, how hard should I push the issue with this one? If this was the Florida State game she would not think about missing any of the game, but she will sacrifice missing some of the UT Chatanooga game for some beer and music. Me on the other hand, there are few things in life I will sacrifice Bulls football for!

I'm asking the married folks out there because even though I haven't been married long, I do know that if she's not happy, I don't get to be happy. So throw some advice to a fellow Bull here.

  2. Well considering he's getting what he is and being unproven in the BE, I would venture to assume if he delivers, and with the university's focus on investing in our athletics, that USF will eventually move him up on that top 35 list. I am definitely hoping that this is the season that Skip proves he was the right choice!

  3. So I was wondering about our coaching situation after listening to the radio last night on the way home from work. First, forgive me if this has been discussed already, I am new to this site. So on 98.7 they were playing a recorded interview with Rich Herrera and a writer for CBS sports who covers college football, I apologize that I forget exactly who. Anyway, they were talking about everything college football and touched on the subject of conference realignments and the new playoff system and such. The guy Rich was talking to said that it really comes down to coaching. As long as you have quality coaching you can pretty much win anywhere, in any conference and give your program a chance to beat any team and compete for a national title or at least a big bowl game.

So my question is, do we have the coaching here at USF to build a consistently winning program? We all know Skips past success and his recruting abilities, but is he the guy who can take us where we all want to be? And also, if he is that guy, will USF just be a stepping stone to something bigger for him in the future like some have suggested?

I feel that Skip has a great football IQ but the one thing that bothered me last season was his ability to motivate and correct mistakes after close losses. I felt sometimes he gave the guys a little too much patting on the back after they made obvious mental mistakes late in games. And I feel like we made those same mistakes over, and over, and over.

So if it really is all about coaching like he said, which I'm sure a lot would agree it is, where do we stand right now?

  4. I saw the episode and it was dissapointing but I will say... I kind of like flying under the radar this year. Last year we were so hyped up and everyone was drinking the kool-ade and thought we would win the BE. Then we became the biggest dissapointment in the conference. I somewhat prefer to not be getting as much attention because maybe it allows our guys to not get so caught up in it and just focus on football. Of course, if we beat FSU we won't be under the radar anymore.

  5. Seems like UL will be ok at WR for the season. Former Clemson wide receiver Bryce McNeal will enroll at Louisville after being denied admission at Connecticut. McNeal, a 4-star recruit and Army All American graduated from Clemson in just three years and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Won't he have to sit out a year?

I am thinking if he graduated from Clemson he will not have to sit out, I believe that is only if he transferred. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  6. As much as I would love to see us go 2-0 against FSU, I would MUCH rather see us win the BE! After such a dissapointing performance in the conference last season, we've got a lot more to prove in the BE.

By the way, I'm new to this site. I'm a senior at USF and my wife graduated from there in May so we are a Bulls family for sure! I've only been a season ticket holder for the past 4 seasons but I don't plan to ever NOT be a season ticket holder again. I'm excited for this season and would love to see our seniors go out with a bang in the Big East!
