You want to be average go ahead and be conservative, you say cash is king well I say college football is the king of cash.  Build it and it will come this is an investment, we have a massive enrollment we should take advantage of that and build this football program.  Just look at what success in football did for the University of Florida through the 90s and 2000s they probably make that 30 million in a few home games.  Football made the school a destination, it put them on the map, I think the same thing can happen here.  That will never happen though if nobody is going to take a risk, and we just continue to be conservative.  Btw how has that conservative approach worked since the firing of JL?

Here's a picture of the Gators' IPF ....

It looks better than O'Leery's tinfoil oven.

Just because they don't have an ipf doesn't mean they don't invest in their athletics program. You ever been to the swamp? They have tradition we don't and we need to compensate through our facilities and coaching

I believe Ron Jeremy sells pills to compensate for your feelings of inadequacy,

Game was brutal, UConn is the real deal. Our Lady Bulls should be proud though, they have had a wonderful season and still have a post season to play(BE tournament, NCAA/NIT tournament) They can do some damage with the right pairings.

Sad thing about today was the LACK OF STUDENTS!!!!! You could count them on your hands, I kid you you not, The 1st 2 levels of the dome were filled (mostly UConn Fans) The student section had about 20-30 people and the band, Patheic, We have over 40,000 students and only 20 show up for a game vs #3 in the country, Way to send your classmates off and to thank them for 4 years of sweat and fight.

While it sucks, and isn't acceptable, it's women's basketball. It's like that at schools that have success.
I doubt you've ever been to a UConn WBB home game.
Even UConn struggles to attract students to their games. Geno had a freaking spaz fit about it on senior day a few years ago.

It's not an excuse. It's just the reality.

For a guy who claimed - "I have zero interest in women's basketball, even if we were playing for the National Championship" - you sure seem to know a lot about it.

Geno is a clown who thinks the the world revolves around him!

Work for an athletic department. It's true, I have zero interest in the sport, but that doesn't mean I'm completely in the dark. For a school that can't draw students for a men's basketball game, how can one even be surprised that the women's team can't draw.

I never said I was surprised about attendance at USF WBB, it is what it is.  Student attendance has historically been extremely low at noon games.

  6. Also if you look at the map, Heinz Field is located 5 miles from the Pitt admin building and is still on Pitt's campus for the most part since students can walk from their dorms to Heinz Field. Meanwhile RayJay is about 16 miles from the USF admin building and students have to drive or be bused into the stadium for games.

USF (Admin Bldg) to RJS is 11.8 miles, or 12.1 miles from the Sun Dome.

How many students would walk 5 miles / 10 mi round trip to go to a football game.

  7. I have been following USF sports closely since 1980, even going back to the CB years in Basketball I can remember losing almost all of the "must win games".  Quite honestly, the first "must win" games I remember any of our teams winning were last year in Softball, Soccer and basketball.  Other than that, I really can't remember any.  There were probably a few in the Paschal years in basketball, but really few and far between.

It's not even losing in these games that bother me (not that they really bother me anyway), but it's that we are rarely competitive when we get to these games.

Evidently not as close as you believe. You don't win the WNIT championship without winning "must win games. The RU game wasn't a "must win game".
