ditto that, seems like the most reasonable explanation

It makes sense, but I can't see how it shakes out. We are limited to 9 assistant coaches. We currently have 4 (Woodie, Hampton, Jancek and Mathies) on the defense and 5 on the offense (Reaves, Gilbertson, Pimpleton, Weist, and new OL coach).

Reaves going to OC and King becoming QB coach wouldn't work because that would put us at 10 assistants. If King is joining the staff, someone else is leaving.

It doesn't have to be the current QB coach (Reaves) though. Reaves could take on the OC title along with another position (RB or TE?) and that would allow King to coach QBs.

Edit: and just as I finished this I see 247 is reporting that Reaves is moving to coach TE and Gilbertson is becoming a GA.

  2. Was also from Odom's twitter, but there were three posts on that topic - the full series was "Taggart on why receivers aren't getting the ball more: "We're not this team that drops back and throws it to receivers 80 times a game. Taggart said the team is focused on establishing the run and utilizing its running backs. Says executing is also an issue regarding the WRs. Taggart reaffirms his confidence in Quinton Flowers. "He's getting comfortable with what we're doing.""

    Losing?

  3. AD changes don't make things happen immediately. They have quite a bit of lag in them, so we need to give Harlan a few years to get things in place.

The mess our athletics department is in is on three people: Doug, Bill McGillis, and Judy.

I hated the Harlan hire when it happened, but everything I've heard so far has been extremely positive. I am now confident that Mark will get this turned around, but we have to give him time.

  4. I'm not sure if it's possible to dig up the tweets because of how long ago they were.

One of his tweets was him trashing Floyd during the McNeese St. game. His tweet was something like:"This is the guy USF chose over me" and some additional trash talk.

I also remember him bashing us when Coach T didn't hire Blackwell. I don't remember the exact wording though.

    There were others as well.

Also, on his signing day ceremony he put on a Bulls hat and put up the horns before doing the fake out thing and switched to Vandy. His feelings were hurt because our staff didn't think he could make it at QB and wanted him to play safety.

He can go warm the bench somewhere else.

EDIT: Thought better of my wording. Shouldn't insult a kid for being immature.

  5. Oh, great, here we go with comparisons again. We just have a long way to go, no matter who coaches the team. Believe it or not, I'm still for Tags sticking around another season or two. He wants a smash-mouth football team, but right now he has half the components. I really wish he'd adjust the scheme to what he has, but maybe he can make it work with what he gets. :fingerscrossed: :beggingplease:

    I don't get this.

Even if Coach T doesn't have the talent to run his scheme, what have you possibly seen that makes you think he is capable of turning us into the type of team he wants to be?

Predictable play-calling, terrible personnel decisions, and horrible clock management.

Different players won't fix those issues. If I really thought it was JUST lack of execution, I could be on board. But it's not.

  6. That's weird. You must not be watching closely.

    Marlon Mack

    D'ernest Johnson

    Jamie Byrd

    Kendall Sawyer

    Demetrius Hill

    Josh Black

    Devin Abraham

All contributing. I'm not saying they're all excellent players, but they are out there, beating out players that are much older and experienced.

Theres a lot of things to complain about. The freshmen/new players are not one of them.
