So you all agree that our fanbase is contingent on who we are playing.  That is not going to help us.

Nobody seems to understand that we need to be excited to see OUR team play against anybody.  That would be the kind of fanbase that we would need.  We don't have that, not even on this board it would seem.

We might get into the ACC but it will be in its death throws like the Big East was.  When it falls apart or gets watered down into the next AAC everyone will be miserable again.

I think we were spoiled by that Big East invite.

I think almost every school would have attendance problems if they were removed from a major conference. Maybe not immediately, but it would definitely negatively affect attendance.

It's like a steak, many people enjoy longhorns or outback steaks but when you have A5 Wagyu or at the very least USDA prime it's hard to go back to ****** steaks.

I agree with this but the velvet rope is determined solely on fan support, not winning, not OCS, AAU.

As a thought exercise imagine a team that can packs every stadium and jacks the ratings of every game win or lose.  They will get all the attention whether deserved or not.  Think Notre Dame on steroids.

That team can write it's own ticket.  It will sell more t-shirts, bring in more revenue, more eyeballs on screens etc.

This is why I think teams should be creating a better game day experience for their students & fans - like building an OCS. They should be doing everything possible to increase their fan base.  Create a carnival like atmosphere where people come to enjoy themselves regardless of the outcome.

Pictured below is that NOT happening.  The people sitting in the stands are dedicated and deserve a lot of credit, but they are there to see a team win and quite often leave disappointed.  I know because I was one of them. We probably all are.

On campus USF can bring in a band or host a frisbee contest or face painting for little kids.

Would you invite a program that was only able to generate this kind of buzz?

Yes because we have seen what we could be in a "big boy" conference.

It's always great to poach top level talent, but my guess is he would want to go where he can win the starting job immediately. Brown has tremendous upside so that looks like to big a hill to climb. However having the chance to be coached by Brock Purdy's mentors while coming back home might be enough for him to choose here( if CG would take him)😎

    Lol

It's not the same. From his tweet, he states that coaches are passing on players because of their poor evaluation. And now under a different coach in a lesser conference, they suddenly see what they were to ignorant to see because of their poor evaluation skills.

When CAAR took his players from KSU, they were his players that he evaluated and determined they were good to play for him.

    Good point.

It turns out the AAC really wasn’t good at basketball this year and while we overachieved we also didn’t deserve NCAAT. The prognosticators were right to only project 1-2 teams from the AAC it turns out.

if we win 20+ games next year again we’re in, but this was a down/transitional year for the conference. It’s readily apparent unless you’re purely a USF homer.

Really dumb way to look at it. Anything can happen in a single game.

Not to mention both games were very close and could've went either way. You'd have a better case if they both got blown out.

Looking at it your way the horizon league is better than the SEC because 5 horizon teams beat Oakland. So 6 Horizon teams are better than the 2nd best SEC team.

Grammar on par with your comprehension...

What does the title have to do with the argument? I showed you how they said we were the 5th best team in conference and thar we were lucky to be in 1st place, then it mentioned we were the 6th most likely team to be a Cinderella team.

I am done talking to you about this. You obviously will not concede. Go ahead, be correct in your own mind.
