  1. It was a rough outing this weekend. Showed that this team needs to grow into having a target on their backs. This season we are receiving EVERY teams ace pitcher. Last year we got a lot of #2 and some time #3 pitchers which made our offense look stellar. This is something we will need to work on. And for you suicidal fans please calm down remember the season is approximately 50 games! The season is extremely young, we have time to develop but it will need to be soon, especially with a Huge game against the Gators on Wednesday

  2. This weekend the Bulls are playing in the NFCA Classic. This is a rather large tournament with 14 teams participating with big time softball schools participating (Hofsta, Michigan, Louisiana-Lafayette). This tournament takes place across the bridge at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida. If you have time this weekend and would like to see some great softball an all tournament pass is just $25.

The Bulls are in action today twice. The first game is at 3:30pm against Southern Illinois, Followed by a huge game against Louisiana-Lafayette at 6:00pm.

Here is the game tracker for the first game

  3. Do we participate in any sport or competition where we are not outranked by UF?  I hate those guys.  Can't even brag about softball to them because they outrank us there, too.

Well at the beginning of the season we outranked Florida but due to our performance the past couple weeks they had jumped over us. No worries though we have a chance to over take them soon especially since we play them I believe next week.

    Good to see.

Surprised to see LoLa that high - are the Cajuns really that good?

And why are they throwing up horns?

Yes the Cajuns are that good. I saw them play last year in a tournament in Clearwater and they have power and speed. A very dominant team and I believe they were young as well, so they should have quite a few returning starters. The game against ULL this weekend will be an interesting test especially against another big time team in softball. As for the bull horns I have no idea.

  4. Medina with a big single down the right side scoring two! Bulls up 2-1 Bottom 3.

As for the scoring comment, scoring will improve as the season goes on. We have a few new bats to the lineup this year so expect us to improve as we keep playing and finding the right line up. Just know that our pitching will be carrying the load in most of our games this year

  5. Thought we could just combine all the games this weekend into one thread. The four teams this weekend are USF, NC State, Coastal Carolina, and Tennessee.

We are currently playing the NC State Wolfpack,

  6. Well from my view of it yesterday when she was pitching you can see she has worked on it, although it is not fixed correctly you can def. see a difference on between last year and this year (less distance between her foot and the ground). It is difficult for her to get it completely fixed because of the velocity she is moving going through the pitching movement. We will see how the rest of the season plays out and hopefully we get lucky with the umpires this year when she is pitching just in case.

Though I am super excited to see what this pitching staff can pull off this year. Should be one of the best staffs in all of softball this year.
