Uh... their definition of "in the market" is REALLY loose.

    New York (#1) -- Syracuse ? HA!
Los Angeles (#2) -- Cal? Stanford?  HA!
Chicago (#3) -- Notre Dame?  HA!   (Notre Dame has a bigger following in Boston than Chicago)
    Philadelphia (#4)
    Dallas-Fort Worth (#5)
    Houston (#6) -- SMU HA!?
    Atlanta (#7)
    Boston (Manchester) (#8)
    Washington, D.C. (Hagerstown) (#9) -- UVa ?
    San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose (#10)

In reality, the ACC only has teams in four or the top 10 markets: DFW, Atlanta, Boston, and  SF/Oak/SJ.

Its questionable even in those 4 markets they pull a decent share of it.

I agree with this but the velvet rope is determined solely on fan support, not winning, not OCS, AAU.

As a thought exercise imagine a team that can packs every stadium and jacks the ratings of every game win or lose.  They will get all the attention whether deserved or not.  Think Notre Dame on steroids.

That team can write it's own ticket.  It will sell more t-shirts, bring in more revenue, more eyeballs on screens etc.

This is why I think teams should be creating a better game day experience for their students & fans - like building an OCS. They should be doing everything possible to increase their fan base.  Create a carnival like atmosphere where people come to enjoy themselves regardless of the outcome.

Pictured below is that NOT happening.  The people sitting in the stands are dedicated and deserve a lot of credit, but they are there to see a team win and quite often leave disappointed.  I know because I was one of them. We probably all are.

On campus USF can bring in a band or host a frisbee contest or face painting for little kids.

Would you invite a program that was only able to generate this kind of buzz?

Competition dictates attendance. Better opponents brings better fan attendance.  We have proven we can do that

There’s something amiss with minutes per game. When you look at the game by game data, most games show 1 minute. Others 35+ minutes. The average isn’t reliable, but he’s still a great scorer and an excellent get for us.

Without even adding and averaging all the numbers 22.5 is right regardless of minutes.   He scored 48 one game.  Most games were in mid 20's

  4. Some teams will grow tired  in the Big 10 and SEC. I look for this to blow up again in 10 years. How many years is Texas and Okalahoma going to take being a bottom feeder in the SEC? Ditto for the Western Schools in the BIg 10? Do the Big conferences start kicking out the little guys?  Vanderbilt,  Rutgers Maryland?  Even Ole Miss Miss St would be considered little fish now.
