Just hope the buses are running to bring the students for this game. They weren't running for the last home game and that was probably why the student section was so sparse. It needs to be pushed on campus and in the Oracle too.

You can't fault Taggert for Flowers leaving 21 points on the field with his egregious overthrows of wide open receivers, but one thing happened last night that Taggert was bailed out on once the Bulls won...
The 3rd and goal from the half yard line. He calls a shotgun with receivers in motion. Illegal procedure, 5 yard penalty, FG blocked.
I want him fired for many reasons, but that is just typical of the moron Taggert is. Line up and poke it over the top with your QB. If that fails, Rinse, repeat.
Yeah, and we're paying 1.2 million for decisions like that.
If CWT stays, let him recruit and oversee the team but turn over the actual game day play calling to the OC and QB coaches.

Sorry to disagree but we only have 2 games to prove we deserve a bowl. We need to beat either Temple or Cincy for us to be credible. If we lose to both and beat UCF, we don't deserve a bowl.
Like you said, we haven't beat any significant team so far. And if our bowl hopes rest on beating UCF for our 6 win, we don't deserve a bowl. We need to be at least 7-5. IMO.

He'll be back as long as we continue to show the progress we have during the last 3 games and beat UCF. Once he hits 5 wins he's a lock to return. As for an extension? I think that's out of the question unless something crazy happens like we win out...
Really!!! Going from a 4 win season to a 5 win season in his 3rd year and no bowl, do you really call that improvement or true progress? Sorry but 5 wins and no bowl and he is gone.

You sure about that?
When Harlan said before the season started that if we didn't get to a bowl that there would be some major changes, yeah I'm pretty sure CWT would be gone.
-
I think its more than how many more wins we have the rest of the year or not that will determine if Taggs gets to stay. I suspect that the "Off the field issues" may be the final nail in his USF career. Just a hunch.
You hit that Nail right on the head. To much going on "off the field" that needs to be taken into account if his W-L record is questionable.

I think disastrous would be if we look like we did last season and early this season. If we're competitive and just get beat at Navy, ECU, and Temple and beat UCF, I think he sticks around.
No way!!! Only 5 wins and CWT is GONE!!!

If I took the time I'm sure I could come up with numerous examples of horrendous play calling and coaching, but one really stands out. Why with being up 17 to 24 points with less than 6-7 minutes in the game with a marginal team like SMU do you leave your starting QB and running back in to possibly get hurt, which they both did, instead of putting the 2nd string in? Fortunately the injury to QF supposedly isn't bad but haven't heard a report on Johnson yet. Though I am sure QF Is feeling the after affects of that hit on the last TD by today with the way he landed on his back.

To all my critics, I'd love to be able to review all your commits that you have made over the last 2 years. My opinion hasn't changed, can you say the same?

Thanks USF for hiring Willie Taggart, we hit a home run with him as coach
You obviously started drinking way to early today which has caused you to forget everything that has happened since CWT took over. I'll give him credit for being a good recruiter. And it's that talent that has made CWT look good these last 3 games. Because the coaching and offensive play calling have been horrendous during most all the games. He has lucked out so far this year because Flowers is no QB. He should be playing running back cause he's so inconsistent with his passing. With a good QB the leading rusher should not be the QB. He had to step up since Mack didn't play and the other backs didn't produce. Which proves my point that he should be a running back. IMO keep Taggert for recruiting but we need a new and better head coach.

I wanted to know what people think about coaches who shove their players around specifically at the University of South Florida. I want to know if we accept this as a norm for all sports now and is it okay to do so when coaches are fighting to keep their jobs.
If you have something to say, then say it. Provide the evidence of Who, What, When, Where, Why and How of your accusations. Otherwise don't say or post anything just to cause doubt or raise questions to get people in an uproar over an unsubstantiated claim.
Either give the specifics or quit posting.

Pretty simple....throw in Bench and teams would have some respect for the pass....including our own.
I give you credit, you have guts. Seems most on this board have no use for Bench. You are really going against, what I perceive, the majority opinion.
However I totally agree with you. Given the chance, Bench can show he is more accurate, has a quicker release, and can still run if he has to. But one set of downs does not count as a fair chance. I'm talking at least one if not two full games, with enough quality practice time during the week prior to the game so he is prepared.
But it won't happen because CWT's guy is Flowers. And he will stick with him until they lose that 7th game and CWT gets fired for not being bowl eligible.

I actually thought they looked kind of cool. Wasn't a fan initially but they grew on me. Too bad we suck no matter what uniform it is.
If I understand you correctly, you are referring to the football uniforms, and not the band uniforms, right?
Southshore, I believe, was referring to the band uniforms. And I agree, they look cheap and unprofessional. I've seen high school bands with much better looking uniforms. They look like a doctored up sweat suit. No class at all.
-
No, he shouldn't.
There isn't much upside to bringing Bench in. Let Flowers develop.
Obviously he will come in at the worst possible time though, and kill any offensive momentum we have.
Since rumor has it that Woolard will be the starting QB next year, we should give each QB full games to play and see which one performs best in the long run.
As for when Bench is put into a game, that is on the head coach. CWT makes that decision, not Bench. So only CWT is responsible, no matter what he says, since he doesn't want to take any responsibility for anything that goes wrong, especially when it's his decision.

Oh, and we were the only school that recruited QF as a QB. Again just how good is our scouting?
-
It's really upsetting how good Cincinnati's back up QB is while we fight over Bench and Flowers.
Guy has a cannon
He's from Miami area and only Cincy and UCF recruited him. What does that say about our scouting. And Cincy found out about him cause someone in Miami knew of him and called someone they knew connected with Cincy.

It does seem like Flowers escapes his verbal wrath. Wonder if he plays favorites...hmmmmW went from passionate Jim to fluffy Skip and now the tyrant Taggart. So are we due for another fluffy? Please no!!!!!!!!!! Please show some encouragement Willie besides telling your wanky how good he is.
Ya think!!!!!!!
-
Oh, if Willie was real, then why has he been caught in so many lies over the years, and why is there discord in the locker room, especially after his last interview. His frustration is his own fault.
-
Which is why I said I doubt it'd happen because they aren't only changing the coaching staff yearly, they are changing the entire style of play yearly on defense and now the offense. Three years with a good scheme and some coaching staff stability and these kids should compete with the top in the conference.
Bingo! He's had 27 games, 3 spring camps and 3 fall camps to get these players ready or find ones that will be ready to play fundamentally sound football. This is all on Taggs and he knows it.Thing is, he's taken blame in the past too. But at some point (and since he's on his last leg, that point is now) he has to call out the problems as he sees them. Like Bausf was saying, there were several plays where better reproduction of the funamentals would have changed the shape of the game. His job's in dire jeopardy now, and he clearly doesn't want to be done at USF. Lots of people are readily dismissing player culpability and going straight to the coach. Saban could be the coach, but if they don't execute are you gonna say the same thing?
He'd have done better by saying "it was a tough day all around, lots of mistakes to pass around to everyone including we coaches, and we all need to ingrain those fundamentals. Thank you." But I completely understand his exasperation, and honestly that's one thing I like about the guy--he's real, not a machine.
He's been coaching these guys through three full offseasons and three fall camps. If they STILL don't have the fundamentals down, that's on him bro.
Correction, the offense hasn't changed since CWT's first year. They just tried this year to speed up the same 3 to 5 plays that QF can remember and supposedly execute. And yes with the proper good coaching, which we don't have with CWT, we could have a respectable team. But Taggert will NOT take any responsibility for poor coaching, poor play calling, poor player utilization, and various other bad decisions he has made.
I said at the end of last year that we had such a poor record because our players could not play after being thrown under the bus and run over so many times by Taggert. And he is doing the same this year. He has not taken responsibility for anything that went wrong in any game since he has been here. Whether he likes it or admits it or not, he is ultimately responsible and will pay the price for a poor season with his job. "Pride goes before the fall" Willie.
-
He should have said "We couldn't afford another 8 minute drive to score, Bench gave us a higher risk higher reward opportunity to catch up in the limited time".
However I applaud a man who keeps his word.
Technically CWT did NOT keep his word since Bench was not put in until the 4th quarter. And that seems to be typical of him from what I have seen and heard over the years.
My guess is he made that story up to cover up his inability as a coach and he will put the blame on anyone and everyone instead of taking ownership of his mistakes and therefore blamed it on Bench. This isn't the first time CWT has shown his dislike or disdain for Bench, as we have seen over the previous years as well as this year. And definitely continues to show his inability to call plays and coach well enough to use the talent he has wisely so to put the best players on the field to give us a fighting chance of winning.

Flowers can throw a football over mountains
I just want him to throw accurately enough to hit our receivers wherever they are on the field and have better than a 50% completion rate.
-
He launched himself by leaving his feet and went helmet to helmet. A much more flagrant foul than Sanchez, and didn't hit helmets, yet Sanchez gets ejected and the FSU player gets away with it.

What are these fantastic stats that show QF athleticism?
-
Well at least we beat the point spread.
Will 6-6 really be enough for a bowl?

With the AAC having 4 teams in the top 25, and having 5 bowls that the AAC can go to, not counting the conference winner, will a 6-6 record really get us into a bowl game with the number of possible eligable teams in our conference? Any thoughts or comments on this?
