  1. I don't think they should be in the top 25 preseason.  I agree with somewhere between 27-30, however, if we could pull an upset @ Auburn and beat everybody else I could see us moving in the top 20.

If we beat auburn and everybody else, we are going to be ranked top 10 for sure, and probably top 5, because that will include wins over likely top 5 Auburn, likely top 15's WVU and UL, and likely top 25 Rutgers.  If Boise got ranked number 6 with their schedule going undefeated, I fail to see how we could get the shaft beating four ranked teams, three of which are highly ranked.

  2. Must be a winning deprived Miami Dolphin fan.  Those guys aren't very bright.

We may be winning deprived right now, but wait and see next year.  We are going to make the playoffs.  Anytime anybody tries to argue with me about the dolphins I pull out one thing, The 72 Dolphins baby.  That maybe living in the past, but hey, they were undefeated.

What's the difference between going 16-0 (in today's NFL, not the short schedule when the dolphins did it  :-?)and going 8-8 and winning the Championship?

    Not a whole lot.

BTW this thread has what to do with Bulls sports?

  3. He's committed to the Mountaineers. I know there were some rumors out there he might even be considering us....but cnnsi.com is reporting he's now given WVU a verbal. I believe the short list was WVU, FSU and Alabama....glad our conference won that one.

Are you retarded?  Why would you want our conference rivals to get a player of that caliber?  Remember, they are our COMPETITION, not our allies.  I would rather UCF get him.  You can talk about "conference prestige" and all of that, but the number one goal is to WIN the conference, and other conference teams piking up star players does not help us win games.

Do we hope that the Irqqi insurgency gets stronger, so we can give them a "good job"?  Of course not.  Extreme example of course, but I believe it still applies.

  4. Once again it doesn't seem WE stack up well when it comes to this facit of the college game. UF will have the best recruiting class in the nation when all is said and done. That is to be expected, however, my concern lies in the fact that with MIAMI & FSU having "down" years WE have not capitalized. A couple questions...

    1. Why or How does this happen?

    2. What needs to be done to improve it?

    3. Is this a CJL issue?

    4. If not CJL where do you point the finger?

Your question doesn't make sense....to say we haven't capitalized is ignorant.  If you really mean "Why haven't we become a powerhouse?".  Well, how many schools do you know of that were powerhouses 10 years after their football teams were established?

  5. 1. Will you make the FL Atlantic away game ?

    Yes

    2. What game do you see being the toughest ?

    @ Auburn or Vs. Louisville

    3. Who will win Super Bowl 41 ?

    Colts

    4. What HOME game will have the largest attendance ?

UCF for sure.  As for most BULLS fans, probably Louisville.

    5. What would your last meal be if on death row ?

    Steak and potatoes

  6. We need to run a conventional offense.  Also, I hope we don't run a shotgun spread offense.  Running a shotgun as part of a balaned offense is fine, of course, but I hope we don't run a shotgun-heavy offense.  The reason for this is because from all reports I have heard is that while ford is quick, his acceleration isn't the best, and it takes him longer to get to full speed than someone like Andre was.  The extra few steps he will get running out of a traditional backfield will be a great help to him.

  7. great win # 2, two more to go to get to MSG!

    go mac!

    go bulls!

Team played well. We won a game we were supose to. I was surprised to win by 22.

We will need more than 4 wins to get to MSG.

can't you ever be happy for the team, instead of taking this cheap shot at them, no game is a sure win, so please stop speaking like they are.  we played a better game than Rutgers did, plain and simple we were the better team on the court tonight, and we won by a lot.  for once please stop taking this cheap shot at the team after every win.

Jesus Christ, can we stop the drama?

I'm not a huge fan of the guy either, but don't take his post out of context.  Why highlight the "cheap shot" (which wasn't even a cheap shot...it was the truth and I don't find the comment inappropriate?  Why not highlight the compliment?  I guess some people just need to feel important on ZE INTERNETZ.

  8. Does winning and losing basketball games mean that much to you in your life? CRM is a good man and he is building a solid program that will turn the young men in his care into good men. Character and discipline are more important than Ws and Ls. I still believe he will turn the program around but it takes time and I think that you will find that a MTV, instant gratification winning program will leave a sour taste in your mouth eventually. Grow up and see college athletics as more than a way to elevate your own egos.

His JOB is to win basketball games.  Good guy or not, if a person doesn't do their job, you replace them with someone who can.  He can still be a good guy and have an impact without being a basketball coach

  9. convinced.  But after the embarassing performance today I realize that Mac not only needs to go but he needs to go now!

This team is awful and that should be embarrassing.  The season is over for Men's Bball why not cut your losses, let the assistants take the helm and begin your search for a new coach?  We aren't going anywhere with what we have, might as well stop prolonging the inevitable and move on.

Mac needs do go, I'm sure he'd be a great coach at the JC level, but not in the Big East, he just doesn't have it.

You're an idiot.  We're 0-2 against two top 15 teams, and you are calling for his firing.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the state of our BBall team, but making comments about our season being over after losing two games that everybody in the country thought we were going to lose is pretty ignorant.

  10.                                          10 wins       top 25    BE champs             NCG

    2007                                     40%           30%           10%                 1%

    2008                                      60%          50%           30%                 3%

    2009                                      80%          70%           40%                 7%

if we get consistant and continue to grow this is my prediction of what is possible

Your percentages are decent.  The average fan might think 30% ranked for next season is a bit low, but we finish the season against WV and Louisville (certainly a possibility that we could lose both of those), and then if we go to the Gator Bowl (or better), there's a possibility we might lose.  If we played WV and UL earlier, I would put our ranked % higher.  I think we have a better chance than 10% to win the conference though, probably 25%.

For 2008, I might up the conference championship % a bit to 40%, but no complaints about your numbers.

For 2009, I am not quite sure we are 80% chance to get 10 wins (depends on our OOC....don't we play Florida that year?).  I agree with the rest except NC percentage, in which I feel 7% is too high

  11. I was absolutely shocked when I saw this news....I didn't even consider it a possibility the Petrino would leave Louisville after this season...and it seems like their players feel likewise.

It's amusing to see all of you who think that Louisville is suddenly going to fall off of the map because Petrino is gone.  Yes it will hurt them some, and they may lose a couple of their recruits, but you have to remember the team is still the team that won the Big East....they aren't going to drop immediately.

well, I for one am not saying they will for sure drop off a lot.  they have a good backup QB if brohm does leave, he won every game he started starting with that miami game.  but, USF is getting better next year (from everything I can tell), so UL and others need to to not regress to keep up with us.

Yea, that I am not disputing.  I'm not saying Louisville won't be worse than this year, either.  I've just read a lot of the replies that make it sound like Louisville is immediately going to drop to a nobody, and frankly, that's not going to happen.

  12. ...

I'd say the chances are about 25% within the next 4 years.

    Would say 25% this season ...  8-)

With the Auburn win we will be ranked ... then going through our remaining schedule undefeated, we will be most likely the only undeafeated and ready to play a USC, OSU, MI, etc  :o

    Go BULLS !!!

Um....I would estimate our win chance against auburn would be about 30%, which means we would need near a 100% chance to go undefeated the rest of the season, and that's not even close to the case
