  1. Somehow a rumor has gotten out there that tailgating would not be allowed outside Legion Field prior to the game. That is NOT true. Papajohns.com Bowl Game Day Schedule • 8 am Legion Field parking lots open • 10-10:30 am Pep Rally with both teams bands and cheerleaders • 10 am Stadium gates open • 12 pm Kick-off of the Inaugural Papajohns.com Bowl. There should be ample room for anyone wanting to tailgate in the parking lots.

  3. The Redmont does have a bar: The Rare Olive Lobby Level This quaint, intimate lounge opens daily from 4 pm daily until 10 pm. A full compliment of beer, wines and spirits is enhanced with a selection of appetizers, salads and a light dinner menu. Unwind the day with soft music and friends or watch the latest sporting event at the rich, wood bar. The Redmont is 5 blocks south of the Sheraton, 15 blocks North of the Doubletree and 18 blocks north of Five Points South
  4. I will email in your suggestions and bring it up myself at the Thursday night meeting. Stay tuned...
  5. Are the BOLD items the only fan-related activities?? Everything else seems to be for the teams and/or VIPs. Please keep in mind that this list is almost 2 weeks old....The Bowl Committee was still planning other events...I should know more Thursday night
  6. Is the kick-off 12:00 noon Central Time and 1:00 PM Eastern? I've seen two different times being posted.
  7. We are having our next meeting on Thursday evening....If any of you have specific questions or requests, I will be more than happy to bring them up there and let you know something shortly thereafter.
  8. No I am not employed by ESPN...I work for a company that is on the executive board of the bowl and am also volunteering my time so I am using an email from my personal UAB website. I do have a partial calendar that was provided to us at the last meeting. It is as follows: Tuesday December 19 • Teams arrive in Birmingham Wednesday December 20 • 10 am - 2 pm Teams practice at Legion Field and/or Samford University • 6 pm Team entertainment at the Comedy Club Thursday December 21 • 10 am - 2 pm Ladies Day Out - Ross Bridge Resort • 10 am - 2 pm Kids Day Out - McWane Science Center • 5 pm - Team Entertainment - Barbecue and Bowling at Vestavia Bowl • Team practices TBA Friday December 22 • 9 am - 10 am Teams visit Childrens Hospital • 12 pm - Team Luncheon - Sheraton Birmingham • 2 pm - 4pm Teams practice at Legion Field • 5 pm - 7pm VIP reception - Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Saturday December 23 • 10 am - Pep rally outside Legion Field • 12 pm Kick-off of the inaugural PapaJohns.com Bowl
  9. As a member of the executive board and as one of the many volunteers of the Papajohns.com Bowl let me officially extend a warm welcome to all Bulls fans. If any of you would like any insight on various hotels and areas of the city or just have questions in general, I will be more than happy to answer them as best I can. We will frequently be checking this board in the coming weeks leading up to the inaugural PapaJohns.com bowl to assist you in any way that we can. You may also e-mail your questions directly to papajohnsbowl@dragonzrealm.com. Once again...Congratulations on a fine season and we hope to see many of you in Birmingham on December 23rd.
