  1. this was taken from sportsline.com  >:(

"This super-sized super league isn't going anywhere. The new TV contracts -- with CBS and ESPN -- are unprecedented in college athletics, and they ensure Big East members will be on television more than Seinfeld reruns, or at least it will be close. So while the Big East is still destined to cost many coaches their jobs after they finish 11th with just about the best team they could ever put on the floor, money and exposure are going to trump common sense (don't they always?), meaning all anybody can do is sympathize with South Florida's Robert McCullum, who if he morphed into Bob Knight over the weekend still wouldn't have a chance in hell of competing in this league. Ever."

    that pisses me off

  2. Stetson hats or Stetsons refers to a brand name and not a type of hat. The John B. Stetson Company of St. Joseph, Missouri, founded by John B. Stetson (1830..1906, USA), is the manufacturer of some of the more famous variants of the cowboy hat: a felt hat with a tall crown and very wide brim. It functions to protect its wearer's eyes from the sun, and can also double as a water bowl.

  3. USF got another two verbals, but they aren't shown yet:

From the St Pete Times USF Blog:

Quote:Two more commit...the Bulls have picked up two more commitments for their 2007 recruiting class.

The first is St. Petersburg Catholic receiver Andrew Harris, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect who has 78 receptions for 1,528 yards and nine touchdowns in his past two seasons. His list of offers is impressive, choosing the Bulls over West Virginia, Ohio State and Boston College.

The second is former Gibbs receiver/cornerback Kevin Williams, who was courted by West Virginia and Auburn last spring but did not have the necessary test scores. He's taking classes this fall at William Penn University in Iowa and is taking the ACT in two weeks, hoping to get a score that will allow him to enroll at USF in January. Williams (5-11, 175) had five interceptions in 2005 and also returned two kickoffs and a punt for touchdowns for Gibbs, and told me his first look at USF will be as a corner.
