Yeah, I'm back after this showing and I can tell you I'm very optimistic about our season. The defense looks fast and physical. Hopefully, we can work on our tackling. how'd you guys like Bryan Smith (#93). He's just a sophomore. Hell of a game until the numbers and fatigue caught up with us. The final score doesn't tell the story. 14-10 going into the 3rd quarter. I'm sure none of you seen that coming, but there will be some that will come on here and give no credit to anyone and look at the final score and say "take your whoopin' and stop your crying". there were 4 calls that should've been made or was not made. I'm not saying it would've had a difference in the ball game, but how the hell can you not call that fumble at the 1 down? My 97 year old grandmother could've made that call and they even had replay to check it out. All in all, like i said, I'm optimistic about our club this year. Ready to move on. (Anxiously waiting on the guys talking trash. I do remember someone saying that it would be over by the 2nd quarter)

That's funny considering a I-AA averages 15K a week. Try to be funny when USF gets their own stadium. A BCS conference school averagin 38K. Nice. ;D

I don't think the 5-7, 4th place Big East team will make a bowl game.  Sorry.

I'm a little late considering this thread has taken a turn for one of your posters being "the I'm too cool to be on a message board, but I'm on it anyway" but, what do you want a cookie? Syracuse didn't win a game last year, so yes....in a sense they were shutout.  They were horrible.  So shutting out a winless team, isn't much of a stepping stone to the world of greatness that USF obviously calls home.  :-? Yeah, "that offense" scored a 45 points on a defense that gave up an average of 25 PPG.  That "offense that could muster 10 points against UConn. You guys could muster 1 win against any kind of competition last year and that was a fluke.  Lost to a team that isn't anywhere near being a "respectable" BCS football school. USF beat Louisville (which I'm sure you guys will stick onto that for about 6 more years), Florida A&M, UCF, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Cincinnati.  I'm not speaking as a I-AA fan anymore. I'll go ahead and speak as an LSU fan now.  I just want to know where the hell USF has any room to talk about being a "great program" that can compete MAJOR BCS Conferences.  Louisville and West Virginia are the only teams in that conference that can actually say they are a dangerous team.  West Virginia took it to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.  Props to them.  Go ahead, get your big head about beating a I-AA team and have fun getting raped for the rest of the year.  (If I'm wrong later on, I'll come back and eat as much crow as possible, but I doubt I'll have to)

With the offense you guys have, Rutgers has just a good of a chance to finish 3rd as you guys. RUTGERS! ;D It's quite a high octane offense. i don't care what you do against us. I've come on this board and started off saying I wasn't talking trash and even said that McNeese was going to lose this game because I know better. Yet, you're going to talk trash to me? Please. Hurricanes are fluke storms. Cat 3 and 4 storms happen a couple times a year. Not the entire hurricane season.

Lots of talk from an "elite" defense that couldn't shut out Florida A&M. Sure, they scored 3, but that's not a shutout that you're claiming for the 1st game of the season. I'm sure the defense will be in mid-season form and won't make any mistakes. The MEAC and SWAC are the laughing stocks of I-AA football. Ignorance shows it's ugly face again. Like I said in an earlier post, do you not remember where South Florida was a few years ago? USF shut out Syracuse last year......but who didn't? For the record guys: I'm not here to talk trash, I just can't stand on the sidelines while people speak about something they fail to read or learn about.

So a 34-17 beating by a 5-6 Big East team (Pittsburgh) put on you guys wasn't a fluke? Pittsburgh is a more talented team than South Florida? I'm sure you guys will just blame that on TO's or "bad play". You can say what you want, but South Florida is not a better team than Louisville.

I'm looking for a 31-17 game. USF. I looked over the prediction thread at the top of the page and laughed at some of the things that I read. That's just being ignorant and having no idea who the Cowboys are. They are just guessing because it's a I-AA team. I guess they forget where South Florida was a few years back. Hopefully we've grown up on defense and are capable of stopping Julsmite. you guys lost your starting TB and a couple others because of suspension, correct? Chambers? I'm not 100% sure. I don't think he will matter because you guys got a serious stud with Amp hill. I watched him before he blew out his knee at LSU. I promise you guys, he would've been on the field as a true freshman if not for his knee. USF offense wasn't very kosher last year. (Louisville was a fluke. Yeah I said it). Defensively, I do believe you guys are talented, it's just the offensive side of the ball that the Bulls are slacking. Are Plancher and Smith the starters or am I missing someone?

What's the word on your side about Saturday's game? Are you guys worried? It's a shame that would be two opening games in a row for us to be cancelled because of tropical systems. Personally, I don't think that it will be bad enough after coming off Cuba and Tampa getting the west side of the storm (which is usually the weaker part of the storm). Hope it's a good one. You South Florida guys take it easy on us measley, no talented I-AA guys. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

You are out of your mind. I wouldn't take South Florida and 14 on that bet. What makes you think that South Florida has the team to beat Texas Tech? Questions on offense to begin with and you can keep going from there. Texas Tech has slowly improved on their defense each year and now they have the all time Texas state passing record holder starting for that ridiculous offense Leach runs. Please explain how you think there's "no way" the 4th place Big east team is going to beat Texas Tech.

No disrepect meant toawards you guys, and I'm not coming over here to claim a victory, because it won't happen.....but there's NO WAY that you guys are going to beats us as bad as Texas and Texas tech are going to beat SHSU and SELA. it won't happen. Personally, I hope our defense is better this year and I think I'm right about that. The last couple of years the defense was full of nothing but sophomores and freshmen and they have somewhat "grown up". Only time will tell if they have improved. Hope you guys have a good game and all, but it won't be what some of the predictions that I've seen so far on this board. Other comments: By the way, you're welcome for Amp Hill. The guy is a special talent. He was lighting up Tiger Stadium as a freshman but that knee screwed him up.
