  1. Cee, jcfohio, and any others who have expressed their displeasure at the "disappointment" of USF making it to the Car Care Bowl, please read the contract below and respond to this post with the words "I AGREE":

    ********************************************

CONTRACT FOR USF AND BOWL GAME

    ********************************************

I, (insert name here), do agree to purchase a ticket for, travel to, and attend the Meineke Car Care Bowl (henceforth known as The Bowl Game) in Charlotte, North Carolina on December 31, 2005.

In the event that I do not purchase a ticket, travel to Charlotte, or attend the game, I hereby acknowledge and agree to the following points:

    • 1.  I forfeit all rights to complain about the performance of the USF Football Team, since I didn't think it was important enough to travel and support them in their first Bowl Game.

      2.  I forfeit all rights to complain about the attendance or lack thereof, since I myself didn't bother to attend the game.

      3.  I acknowledge that my failure to attend this game and boost attendance figures will have far reaching effects on the possibilities of USF being selected for future bowl games.

      4.  I acknowledge that this failure to travel with the team may have a direct financial impact on the future of the University of South Florida football team.

      5.  I acknowledge that my lack of financial support towards USF for The Bowl Game impacts the ability of USF to hire coaches that are more in line with my own views, and I forfeit my rights to complain about the coaching staff until such point where I put my money where my mouth is.

In the event that familial, medical, or other extinuating events make attendance at this game truly impossible (and I'm not just being a whiny little *****), then Terms 1-5 above are null and void.

Acknowledged this day, 12 December 05.

    Amen

  2. Now, I may be biased, but if I were considering coming to USF to play, I'd probably already know how they tanked against Pitt and more notably UCONN. I'm sorry but criticism is part of the big time...but if you want to follow blindly go ahead.

If you think the players "tanked" games against Pitt and Uconn, implying they gave up, you're wrong.  These players try their hardest, and I root for them whatever the situation is.  I understand football, and I don't follow blindly, but these players are student/athletes, they aren't paid.  So if you are quick to criticize everything, you should be ashamed.  They eat, sleep, play football, and go to school.  The effort is there.

  3. Next time when we are at the goal line, why not put Tim Jones in at FB as a BIG blocker for Andre? Line up in a power I, have Tim lead the way, sure score for USF's A Train. Tim used to be a tight end, has speed, and is STRONG!!!. I am not sure why this hasn't been noticed by the powers at be. This play I feel would definitely work! Plus, you could modify this with a PJ roll out boot leg.    Reaper

or you could just not false start and hand the ball of to andre who would have gotten in anyway

  4. smazz, being in AZ, I no longer engage with the players or coaches...I'm just a fan.  I am not a reporter, or running a for profit site for which I need Jim Leavitt or his players for interviews, etc.  I'm "independent,"  I'm just a fan and supporter of USF.

The issue is not my relationship with anyone at USF it is about the "outrage" you refer to.  I was as sick as anyone watching that debacle yesterday.  I simply choose to deal with it differently.  I will not call out the coach(es) or players on this board.  I think that is improper.

Like many, I had my outburst...in the chat room I called the double reverse "stupid" while doing the PBP.  That was good enough for me.  To go on an endless tirade about how "Leavitt needs to be gone" is foolish and irreponsible - at least for me it is.

The loss yesterday to me was problably the worst one we have ever suffered considering how it happened and all that we had on the line despite the season starting with only modest expectations of a 4 win season.

It hurt.  I literally left the room.  Left the chat.  Left the board and got the Christmas stuff out of the garage and started helping the family decorate.

It's a bump in the road.  The stability Jim Leavitt has provided for the existence of this football program far outweighs the UConn loss.  The distance he has taken us and the good fortune we have experienced as a young program overshadows a rare unjustifiable risk or "bad call".

You rant and rave all the time - for about two years now that Leavitt should be gone.  It just gets old.  I guess until the day you step up with the $1.5 - 2.0 million to bring in a recycled coach that came upon success elsewhere, we'll be stuck, er fortunate, to have Jim Leavitt.

I'm with Bulliever on this one

  5. Long have I dreamt of the day to see my Bulls on national (or regional ABC) high def TV. My plasma was manufactured, marketed, and purchased with only a single objective. From the first moment on the assembly line that the first plasma cell was filled with gas to the glorious moment it arrived at my doorstep, it has known only one lifelong purpose. For this, I have worked countless weekends and nights, forsaken having children (more to come on this subject...), and wept tears of anguish to my wife in hopes of procuring such a marvel of technology. All just to see my Bulls in HD.

Imagine my disdain when I tuned in this season to INHD unsuspectingly, only to witness the CUSA high def game of the week and see UTEP, USM, Memphis, etc.

But ABC HD? What wondrous deed have I performed to have such a glorious vision bestowed upon me? Have the planets aligned so meticulously? Is there a glitch in the matrix? A cosmic karma random coincidence?

Alas, I believe the answer is no...(hoping it changes)

wow very passionate.  i hope they televise it too. my aunt has a 50" plasma.
