Snow is the only one off that list we will miss long term. Hopefully the new coach talks him into staying. All the new coach has to do to be a major improvement is not be at the bottom of the AAC is year one and go 0.500 .

I disagree a little with your assessment, Dorsey is a guy we'll miss long term.  He was our best arm out of a very weak bullpen and future closer.  Plus he has 2 years left.  Puckett is another guy who had a very good Freshman Year.  He has 3 years left and could be a very good College hitter.  He hit close to .300 most of the season.  Snow would be the biggest loss.  I don't think he was healthy this year and his numbers proved it.  His Freshman season numbers dwarf his numbers from this year.  But with 2 years of eligibility left, I think he would get back to being the player he was last year.

  2. Sorry Mods, had to start a new thread here.  That other one was started back in March and is kind of a mess.  Here's my take on the Bulls Baseball situation:

The time was right to go in a new direction for the program.  I kind of thought it would happen last year, but in Michael Kelly's defense I don't think he wanted to replace the Head Coach of Football, Men's Basketball, and Baseball all in the same year.  It afforded CBM another year and with what we have seen it was time for a change.  I heard rumblings from some of the parents about kids wanting to be in the Portal and not happy with the program and leadership in general.  I take most of that with a grain of salt honestly.  Losing is what causes most of this kind of talk.  Winning solves it.  You will always have kids who want a better opportunity or think they deserve one.  If they are good enough they will get an opportunity (ex. Daniel Cantu).  If not, you will have kids go somewhere else and struggle just like they did here.  Or in some cases, we will get some players back once we announce our next Coach.  But until then, we will continue to lose kids to the Portal.  Honestly, we could use some new blood in here, especially the on the Pitching side.  We were pretty good this year and were Top 3 or 4 in alot of the Offensive Categories (Hits, Batting Average, Stolen Bases, Walks, etc).  We just didn't score enough Runs due to the Defensive side of the game.  Really the last 2 years were not good with the Pitching.

As for the Coach search, Joe Urso seems to be the leader in the clubhouse.  I'm not sure he would want the USF job as he seems pretty happy where he is., but I believe his kid  plays for Miami and has one year of eligibility left, so maybe he comes to USF if his Dad gets the job.  That might fill the hole with the departure of SS Eric Snow.  I don't follow Division 2 Baseball that much and how the competition is, but I do know that as far as winning goes, nobody is better at it.  He has crazy good numbers and is always competitive for League Championships as well as National Championships.

I guess we'll have to wait until the Playoffs are done with University of Tampa if it is indeed Joe Urso.  If its not him, I'm guessing it will be a Head Coach of a smaller D1 school or an Assistant Coach of a larger D1 University.  Either way we probably won't hear until those teams completed their seasons.  I'd like to think the guy we hire brings some juice and is very visible on social media like Golesh and Abdur Rahim.  That was not CBM at all and there never really was any excitement about the program when there wasn't a game.  Not sure that is Urso either, but I guess if you win as much as him it takes care of itself.

  3. Doesn't mean anything for the standings, but the baseball team needs to get back on track and win the series vs the Tinmen.  Tonight we have Hunter Mink on the mound.  He's looked really good so far.  Need to win Game 1, goes a long way in winning the series normally.  Tinmen are 6-0 but really haven't played anybody.  We are 4-3 and really haven't beaten anybody good.  The losses are all quality losses, but sooner or later you have to win some of these.  Tonight would be one of those.

  4. Bad 1st Inning for Adan Longoria.  He got roughed up for 5 runs.  A big 2 Run Homer then 3 Walks followed be a bases clearing double to put us in a huge whole.  And then he got puled after getting out of the inning.  I find it strange Billy started a Freshman on the road.  Turned out to be the wrong move.  I was thinking Gailey or Mink would go the first 2 or 3 innings and then hand it over to the bullpen.  Either way, down 5-0 to the Noles on the road isn't good.

  5. Great night out at the ballpark.  The crowd was a near sellout.  I don't remember ever having this big of a crows for a non UF or FSU game.  So that was great to see.  Pitching was great but a bad pickoff attempt after putting a guy on by a hit by pitch plated what turned out to be the winning run.  There was just no hitting all night.  Mayo and Monque struck out a combined 8 times out of the 6 and 7 slots in our lineup.  Can't have that if you want to compete.  Hopefully the bats show up today if they are able to play.  Forecast doesn't look good for baseball today.

  6. Baseball is back this weekend!  Should be some good games versus some quality opponents.  Friday we play our old conference foe UConn at 6PM.  Saturday we play another familiar team with Louisville.  Sunday we get Indiana State at 1 PM.  I believe all 3 opponents made the College Tourney last season so it will be a good test for our Bulls.

Also if you are going to the Sunday hoops game vs FAU at Noon, you can use that ticket to get into the baseball game after that.

Single game tickets are $15 or if you plan on going to a few games the Double Play pass is the way to go.  It gets you into all baseball and softball games for $99.

  7. With the capacity of our new stadium we will have to play/schedule the bigger teams for RayJay.  Notre Dame, Alabama, Florida, FSU, etc won't play at our on campus stadium.  I imagine most SEC teams wouldn't either, aside from Vandy and maybe Kentucky.  Not that  we play too many Big 10 teams at home but most of those wouldn't be on campus either.  Always thought we should build for at least 40,000.  But what do I know?
