  1. I think Mr. Toro hits a key point.

Mr. Toro? ha. I like it. Anyways, I had to counter her point that people in other schools do the same. That's a weak argument when you are talking about someone doing the same in UF, FSU, WVU, etc. Ours is almost like a grassroots movement to get this community behind us.

Sorry, I guess Mr. is a demotion ;)   Will stick to Don from now on

  2. Here were my submitted comments. (Although I didnt submit them until 2:30pm...so who knows when they'll show up)

I think Mr. Toro hits a key point.  You must consider USF's unique situation to understand why it's so wrong to wear other schools' gear here.

Of course, she herself admits that "if she is not working," she'll attend a USF-UF football game. For any of you who have sacrificed the time, money, etc to, say, go to a bowl game...this comment should make you sick to your stomach. What a defining game that will be for the University! This game is scheduled 4 years in advance, and yet she might find herself working?

Bottom line -- apples and oranges. I don't think she's necessarily a gator bandwagoneer. She simply doesnt care. She's not a fan. Her University holds little or no real place in her heart. She doesn't speak our language. And that's why, when she reads these comments, she'll think WE'RE the ones who are irrational.

That's ok. The small contingent of "true" USF fans is growing and our future is bright. Go Bulls!

Do her comments make her a bad person? No. Do I think she has ill intentions toward the school? No. I simply think she's ignorant about what USF is trying to accomplish and how the multitudes of students wearing non-USF gear is contrary to those goals.

For those of you brainwashing your kids into USF fans -- right on!  My only thought on it is that if they choose not to attend USF or cant attend for whatever reason, that I would hope they would choose not to disrespect the school they do attend by wearing USF stuff on campus. (Much in the same way that none of us want to see UF stuff on our campus).

I'll tell ya -- the worst though is seeing Gator stuff DURING bulls games. That pains my very soul.

  3. Some minor bugs to report.

Videos that pop up windows look really strange when using the Firefox browser.  The video is split in half.

I know the whole "it works in Internet Explorer" argument, but us Firefox'ers are gaining in numbers while IE'ers are going down.  Some of those Firefox'ers are running on Macs (and I despise those snobby Mac users who never shut up about how they want to have Steve Jobs's love child) and some uber-nerds use Linux.

    Same problem for me *EI,

    thanks hightechbull

  4. Well ladies and gents...here we are.  2007. What a great year it's going to be for USF football.

We're in THE perfect spot. We'll likely be good enough that we could squeak off a win against ANYONE, and yet we come into the season still relatively unknown. If we lose to big names (like Auburn), no big deal... we're 'supposed' to lose after all.  But if we win? Wow -- what a statement that would be. So there is tremendous upside for us.

We're the underdog in the games against the big name opponents, but we're still good enough to consistently beat the UCFs of the world. It makes for nice one-sided rivalries.

It was so important that the Big East have a good year this year, too, so that WHEN we win the Big East, people arent still saying the conference as a whole is weak.  The 5-0 performance of the Big East this year really sets the stage for us in 07.

We're still a VERY young team in terms of how long we've been around, but have so much potential.  Phenom QB Grothe, Mike Ford...the 'seal has been broken' if you will on some big names coming in. Once we have that 'breakout' season that I think we're all hoping for this year, USF could become MUCH more attractive to the star recruits. And here we are in Recruiting City, USA.

I gotta give props to the Big East commish. He saw the potential, and it's going to pay off for him....BIG TIME.

Props to Leavitt also.  If only there were more people in the world who put their heart and soul into something they loved without regard for money.  I'd take Leavitt over Saban (or any other of the 'soldier of fortune' coaches out there) anyday.  Leavitt will be a legend among legends...not just at USF, but in all of college football.

Folks Im VERY excited about what is in store for USF in the coming years. And all of you reading this were fans BEFORE USF went 'big time'. And you can wear that badge of honor forever.  I salute you.

Im honored to be a part of it!
