The only issue with the loyalty points system is that it bets when the reward is considered cheap or valueless. You wouldn't enter a 1 dollar raffle to win a 10 dollar gift card to chipotle. You would if the prize was a dinner at say, Sideberns.

I was a student when the loyalty point system was implemented, and back then, it worked fantastically. The nonrevenue sports got excellent attendance and quite a few students found sports they like attending. Volleyball and Soccer got major boosts out of that.

But now? Who wants to attend a football game? Sure, there are some die hards, or fans of other schools who will show up (see Miami last year). But until the product on the field itself is valuable,  you won't see students show up.

A few years ago, I wouldn't have endorsed reducing the student section from it's current capacity. Now I feel it needs to happen-those are prime seats in the 200s that are being wasted while not having any students there, and they could be selling for 200-300 a year in season tickets. 8000 is enough until we show we can be big again. You can pull the upper deck ticket holders back down to the lower levels and give them a discount to upgrade-say let them come down for 50 per ticket.

Why not have loyalty points based off ALL on campus functions? Something like "priority points" used on season ticket holders.

Also why not let those Loyalty points role over to priority points once the students graduate seems like a good way to encourage new alumni to buy premium seats and pushout the old cranks in the lower bowl.

  2. No thursday night games? I could dance.

Toughest games will be Cincy on the road on a short week after flying all the way out to Tulsa the week before, and the short week game with UCF coming into town.

When it came to UCF at first sight I said to myself oh it wont matter we play Memphis...... then i remembered we lost to them last year I miss those days when playing memphis was as good as a bye week.

At that point it comes down to risk taking. Do you take the guy that will vastly improve some key weaknesses (ie fundraising and bball, with the assumption that Taggart has football headed the right way) OR do you play it safe and find a "what if Taggart fails" guy? USF may be signaling a high level of risk taking: "we are betting Taggart fixes FB so we'll need a revenue, marketing, and bball person in charge"

Yes RIGHT NOW basketball is in dire shape and getting worse. USF has to make this hire as he is suppose to be the best at fixing what's wrong with the major sports programs and men's hoops is the clear #1 thing on the list.

If it was the other way around then Harlan might not be the guy they picked. Way to soon to even start thinking thinking about Taggart and the FB program.

We need to give Heath one more year. This year was a disaster as we didnt have one of our best players. Hoping AC is 100% next season as that will be the key for a post season team. And that will save Heath.

We have been saying that for years and there's always a reason to keep him around... DoJo left early..... no facilities.... injuries..... blah blah blah. Players leave, players get hurt its part of the game. We now have facilities that match up to any in the country and still no major advancement (other than one year) for our program.

Stan is a hell of a Nice guy but simple fact is if we were talking about football he'd been fired years ago.

I'm done giving him one more year.

  4. The more I think about it the more I like it. The guy can raise money. I'm competitive. I want to win. If he can deliver $$$ let's do it...

I agree it’s not like AD's have the final say on Hiring coaches any more in college athletics. It’s more of a committee that hires coaches in today’s world. The most important thing to ask yourself will USF more money and a true direction for winning across the board in athletics. Oh will he get rid of Stan Heath too?

It’s quite odd that all of our recent major hires lately have westcoast ties Coach T (Stanford), Coach Bresnahan (Oakland raiders), Coach Wulff (WSU and 49ers) and now possible Harlan as AD.

It's official now. I have mixed feelings on this whole 2 year long process. Time to put our head down and work through it. Life sucks sometimes. Let's go out and kick ass.

    :applause:

I’m going along the same lines. We have no other option than to be excited about the conference that we are in NOW. We need to just run rough shot over the AAC WHEN we do that the big boys will come a calling.

  6. if we want any hope of a bowl game this season BOTH the Dline and Oline needs step the heck up. We look very slow and underpowered on both sides.

I'm holding off on passing blame of the defensive backfield (for now) just because we have no passrush and cant stop the run to save their lives.

Cosh looks lost calling plays on D and we cant to crap on O other than BJ right BJ left, BJ run around and hope someone gets open.

    Thoughts?
