The foundation of the score is the average of the total offensive and total defensive rankings.

Cal went from a root score of 18/2=9 to 22/2=11.  Then the score gets increased based on SOS and Win Ratio.

USC went from a root score of 34/2=17 to 21/2=9.5.  That puts them at a lower root score than Cal, and their SOS and Win Ratio is better.

Do not fear the BW Rankings.  They are your friend.  

Cal let up a ton of yards, dropping them in the defensive rankings.   They went from 5O/13D to 5O/17D.

USC went from 28O/6D to 15O/6D.  

How about "Fat Bottom Girls"?

Maybe they can play something remotely funky this time, like Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious" or something like that.

I think that, in honor of Ol' Dirty Bastard's passing this weekend, next week the band should play "Got Your Money" by ODB.  Anything would be better than that friggin Queen song one more time.

BullWriter Rankings triumph again.

In the upcoming edition (Week of 11/15), USC takes over the top spot.  Cal falls to third behind Auburn.

It's the good ol boy network in action.  Take notes, kiddies.  This is why it'll be next-to-impossible for any non-BCS team to get a piece of the pie.

If Utah lost to an unranked team, they'd fall into the high-teens or low-twenties.

My system takes into account total performance, not just single game matchups.  Cal and USC play the same Pac-10 schedule, no?  According to my rankings, Cal just had an off day when they lost to USC.

If USC was a better team, they'd put up better numbers on the common opponents.  We shall see....  ;D
