I agree with smazza, I can't believe wollard hasn't hired huggins yet!  we all know huggins wants this job.  by now he should have at least hired roy williams or bob knight!

while wollard is at it, he should fire leavitt (cause he's done a horrible job here), hire barry switzer, bring back tom landry from the dead and hire him as assistant coach!

Well, I'm not sure,  I was in favor of Grant, so its not a major factor for me where they coached at, especially if they have multiple NCAA apperances. But, his name will be well known since his team just won a game in the NCAA. I'm sure Ari will make fun of this like he's been doing, but I do trust Woolard.

Just want to hear what everyone thinks. All I really know about him is they beat ND this year, which as someone stated so did RMC. But I'm not sure, seemed good hearing about it, but some people dont seem excited. Just wondering why?

Elon is a awfully good team. We expect them to give us their best shot. I've let the team know if we don't bring our "A" game on both sides of the ball it's going to be a awfully long day.

I havent been able to get through as much as I'd like b/c of school starting again(3 exams this week). But I just started the chapter on Charley Bradley. I think its great, there is stuff on every page I had no idea. I didnt realize we won the 2 Florida Four tournaments, the the gay-tors got scared. lol Or that Lee Rose came straight from a Final Four apperance to USF. I love the book.

I hope we can even stay on the field with Elon.

What does "hard look" mean, when in the next paragraph they mention two other candidates. "Hard look" could mean he was the first one interviewed or the first one Woolard was spotted with, etc.

Interesting. I believe it was Aumans blog said in '99 at SLU Woolard interviewed 15 candidates on the road and just brought back a few to campus to interview again. He'd be interesting to talk to and see how he does, but as basketbull said  I think we can do better.

I dont know if he would have been a great hire then,  maybe, but he was still 3 full years before he became a head coach. Apparently he turned down a bunch of offers including us, waiting on the right oppurtunity, but I honestly dont think the last four years would have been much better no matter who the coach was because of the facilities, commitment to the program, jumping into the BIG EAST, etc. All things that are in the process of being fixed supposedly. RMC went from 7-21 to 21-7 in 3 seasons as a head coach at Western Michigan.  I think he would have eventually been a great coach for us in C-USA, but being thrown in to the Big East with everything else that happened was to much.

There are a lot of good candidates out there and aside from Michigan, not many have the conference affiliation to offer and add to that the state of Florida, I think we are sitting pretty good.

I have Grant as my favorite from what I've seen so far, SIU coach a close second, but I think we are in a strong position as well. And I trust Woolard to make a good choice even if its not one of those two.

I'll put my name as a Howie supporter as well.

Pitt wins, which I had Pitt beating VCU in my bracket so I'm happy. And I think we can get Grant, but it will be hard as he will be the hot name.

They made another comeback in OT, down by 7, got it down to 3, but Pitt just hit a free throws to go up 5 with 6 seconds left.

VCU just made a crazy comeback, when I checked the score earlier they were down by about 20, CBS just went to the last minute of their game vs. Pitt. Heading into OT, Pitt missed 2 free throws with 2 seconds left btw.

I dont know if Grant would leave anyway, or if we could get him, but it will probably make it even harder if they go to the Sweet 16.
