Given how poorely our offense started out, we may have dodged a L with this game being postponed.  Our offense is starting to get some numbers on the board and by the end of the season PJ and the offense should have improved quite a bit.  The same argument may be made about Pitt also, but I don't see the talent there for much improvement.

Houston had some real studs on defense with a lot of freshmen and sophmores.  They will be contenders for the crown the next couple of years.  One thing about Kolb that drove me nuts was his inability to think under pressure.  He reminded me so much of Banks, by running backwards and taking a sack instead of getting outside the tackles and getting rid of the ball.

All in all it was a pretty good game.  Houston killed themselves with penalities just like we did.  The one thing they did that we did not was exploit the slant which kept USM from loading up the line.

The referees were pitiful as usual but they blew calls on both teams like the bobbled TD for USM and the defensive pass interference against Houston on a bomb around the 20 yard line.

How many yards did Houston roll up on USM, over 450 for one of the best defenses.  I think Houston has uncovered their weakness which other teams will be taking a good look at.  Almond may miss a few games now depending on how bad his hamstring pulled.

I think all of CUSA wishes that!  Especially at home!

It would be great if we went to the Liberty Bowl but I would be happy with Hawaii too.  And I'm sure the players and coaches will too.  Just making it to our first bowl is one for the books I don't care which one it is.  The players will need to have that experience to build upon for the upcoming years.

We have the talent to win out our season with Louisville being the possible exception.  PJ just needs more experience and he gets it every game he plays as do our DBs and WRs.

I think that if we end up tied for the last bowl with another CUSA team we will not be going to a bowl.  We will need to win at least 2 from item 6.

My pick is big JL himself for not getting the right punt return team on the field that ended up giving USM their final TD.

It's past time they get one, same penality in consecutive games, unbelievable!

I missed that, but I was watching the jumbotron when a girl from the student section started to moon the cameraman before the picture cut away  

... and Army may be just the team to start benching players.  I'm sure these guys are making the same penalities in practice, but are they getting called for them?

Great job guys!  I hope they do something like this for every close game.

What would be cool is to take one piece of living sod and plant it back at USF.  If the team wants it back they will need to come to RJS and beat us.

I'm coming to the game!  We lost our power again and according to FPL won't have it back till October 12th.  It took them 10 days to restore power after Frances, I will be looking forward to staying with the inlaws and enjoying the AC!

Funny stuff about the sod pulling and killer ice.  They should be more concerned about their pitiful defense than the welfare of their turf.

We definitely need to do something about the penalities, they have been getting worse and worse over the years.

Here's one to express my feelings about the NFL Player of the Week shell game.

Let's hope that with another year of expereince with our O-line and the loss of their D-line that this scenario won't be played out again.  Texas Tech was able to throw against this TCU defense, I hope PJ and RB settle down and relax and that our O-line gives them some nice pockets to throw from.  Hell, lets run our beasts at them.  GO BULLS! Squish them horney toads!
