  1. This has got to be the #1 NO SHOW bowl, 100 fans from USF and 45 from ECU + anyone they can kidnap from the surrounding area.

Then you can just shut the f up and go away, cause your idiocy isn't really necessary.

Truth hurts. What a snooze-fest bowl game. Good ONLY because USF is in it and they made a bowl. Bad for SO MANY other reasons:

    1. Terrible opponent.

    2. Awful location.

    3. Awful date as far as bowls concern.

    4. Awful timeslot during the weekend before Christmas.

    5. Papa Johns pizza sucks.

What crappy luck. Win enough games to make a bowl, and get stuck in this pathetic one.

  2. Respect? That's a strong word. How do you respect a team that you know absolutely nothing about whatsoever until you look them up on the internet? I love college football and watch games all the time. They really don't have to be major college games. I even watched the Youngstown State/James Madison game the other night. But, when I think of East Carolina I don't think of sports.

As a matter of fact, I don't ever remember even seeing East Carolina play a football game in the last 10+ years. I remember they were getting some press a long time ago when they had the "mullet-haired" QB, and quite frankly, I don't even remember his name. East Carolina is the place people think about to rent a house on the beach to relax from the stresses of work to get some sun and play golf. Not, the place people care about football.

I know most of you on here are ready to jump on everything I say from the get-go, but it's hard to get excited about playing a bowl game against East Carolina. There are so many bowl games now that only a handful are truly "exciting" match-ups for anyone other than the fans of each team playing. But, during the holiday season, there always seems to end up being a few games that do become exciting to watch if you happen to tune in. Hopefully, that will be the case for all football fans that end up watching this match-up.

Bottom line...bowl game against East Carolina is better than no bowl game at all.

  3. That means UL is a lock. We all know how dead on you were on with your prediction of USF below .500

Took a shot. BTW, USF's SOS was 70. They beat teams with combined records of 37 - 56, with 5 of those teams well below .500 records: 0-11, 4-8, 4-7, 3-9, 4-8, respectively. USF should be beating teams like McNeese State, FIU, Central Florida, North Carolina, and UConn every time they play if they want ever become an elite team. And, not losing to teams like Kansas, or getting embarassed by Cincy & Louisville.

FWIW, their ONLY impressive win was West Virginia and I'm not going to put that win down whatsoever. Nice win away from home. Got lots of press around here, and most likely, around the country.

  4. If L'ville and RU both finish 11-1, RU wins the BE because of the head to head win by RU.  L'ville is ranked high enough to get an BCS bowl regardless of RU/WVU game.  Florida "will get their tail kick in by Arkansas.  I don't see Arkansas jumping L'ville in the final BCS rankings.

The same Arkansas team that lost to USC 50-14 or lost to LSU who lost to Florida?

Face it, only ONE team from the BE will be in a BCS game - if any - and fans from either Rutgers, Louisville, or both will start crying foul. Same as Boise State fans when they get left out. Even thought the BCS is BS it's all about SOS.

Do you have a link to suggest that? Or are you just pulling your Trojan sucking crap out of your ass again?

Teams strength of schedule in order of BCS ranking (WVU & Rutgers listed for reference):

    1. Ohio State, 30

    2. USC, 2

    3. MI, 4

    4. Florida, 1

    5. LSU, 11

    6. Louisville, 21

    7. WI, 72

    8. Boise State, 80

    9. Arkansas, 34

    10. Notre Dame, 23

    Rutgers, 46

    West Virginia, 44

  5. Time to put down the differences of opinion for a few days.

Heading home right after work to pack and leaving tomorrow to head to a Thanksgiving family reunion that will also have us celebrating my grandmother's 99th birthday. So, probably won't be visiting for a few days (lucky you).

Everyone please have a SAFE & HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Remember what you are thankful for, and if you happen to be with loved ones let them know you are truly thankful for having them in your life. I lost my Dad awhile back and never got that opportunity - even though I'm pretty sure he knew.

Also, remember the troops - and, others that won't be able to be with their families - in your prayers.

I expect to be stuffing myself with stuffing, turkey, and beer while watching football while hanging out with some of my family I haven't seen in years. Wow, does it get any better than that?

    Happy Thanksgiving!

p.s. You can continue to bash me on Monday...

  6. you sure weren't saying anything until we lost a game again. You come out of the woodwork ONLY when USF loses and you have quickly forgotten your prediction that USF would finish the season .500 or under.

Nope, didn't forget. USF had a great season if all you want them to do is go to a bowl game...any bowl game. Played pretty competitively against the elite of the Big East, which aren't anywhere near the elite of college football. <That was sarcasm>

If this were my board, I would ban you in a heartbeat. You add nothing.

Oh, no. You'd ban me? ****. That hurts. When would you find the time? Aren't you too busy washing JL's car, cutting his grass, grocery shopping for his wife, polishing his shoes, etc.? And, besides the fact you own a camera (wow, I may have to put away my Polaroid some day and buy one)  ::) - what do you add besides your kiss-ass slanted opinions?

And, the "glue-sticks" are working out great. Thanks for asking. Have a commissioned "glue-sticks" piece heading out the door for $1000 next week. Funny thing about that **** art. Anyone will buy it...

  7. A bit easier to coach when his recruiting and the treatment of his players is shady at best.

Such an easy statement. Seems to me that Maurice Clarett cried foul to try to save himself, team was investigated and nothing came from it. Then, Troy Smith took money from an alumni, told the truth and took his punishment. Once again, team was investigated and nothing came from it. Not saying **** doesn't happen because truth be known it probably does at every major college - even the minor ones - in the country. So, saying he's shady hasn't been proven once. But, even if it was I'd take shady and winning instead of dorky and losing.

  8. Jealousy is an awful thing. How does being born in Ohio into a household that roots for Ohio State, watching or going to EVERY game since I was about 6-years old, and rooting for only that college team for 33 years before USF even had a team make me an Ohio State homer?

So, I'm guessing none of you rooted for any teams 10+ years ago? You just became football fans when USF decided to start a program? That's pretty amazing...became football fans when USF got a program...and, didn't even watch the game before that. That's wild. I'm thinking smazza was a USC fan before USF had a program, so guessing he'll be rooting for them while I'm rooting for Ohio State. So, yes, I guess I do feel pretty good about Ohio State. BTW, I live about 2 miles from OSU campus.

But, don't feel so great about the one of the college I attended. Keep telling yourself the 10-year deal if that makes YOU feel better. Cincy and Louisville embarassed USF. West Virginia will do the same. Sad, really. You guys can keep on telling yourselves that Jim Leavitt is the guy, but how long are you going to give him? Schiano turned Rutgers around in what 5 years? 130+ years of crappy football and turned them around in 5 years. So, the 10 year time clock is ticking pretty hard.

Bottom line is that none of you have come to the DARK SIDE. Getting spanked by West Virginia probably won't do it. Maybe another year or two of crappy JL coached football will. Man, it's nice to watch a real coach like Tressel coach.

It's not that at all. To come in here and throw the Ohio State allegiance out like that is absolutely bush league.

I watched the OSU game in a bar down the street. Game of the century. Columbus was absolutely "up for grabs" for the entire week before the game, and the weekend here was just crazy. Both OSU and MI fans were all over the place and the atmosphere couldn't even be described. Fans were absolutely besides themselves throughout the game, and obviously afterwards. I get home on such and incredible high just in time to PAY to watch USF. What a freakin' buzz-kill. They looked absolutely horrendous, out-coached, and out-played in every aspect.  So, call it bush league. Call it whatever. The program needs to step it up or it's going to be locked into the UCF teams of the world forever. Knew the Ohio State deal was just going to piss most of you off. But, what the hell. Not making any friends here anyway, and don't really care. That's what makes America so great. Can say what I want, and see what happens.

p.s. It's okay to say the team isn't that good. No one is going to ask for their USF JL signature visor back.

  9. With such an impressive showing at Louisville was just wondering if anyone else has joined the so-called DARK SIDE? Won't speak for anyone else, but just going to the "Toilet Bowl" isn't good enough for me. Guess that's what happens when you grow up watching & rooting - YES ROOTING - for one of THE BEST teams in the country. Watching them once again make it to the national championship gamehas probably spoiled me in being sympathetic to mediocre coaching. And, before you all jump on me for being an Ohio State homer...I was rooting for them way before most of you were probably even born - and, obviously way before USF even had a football team.

So, is everyone out there okay with beating the crappy teams of the BE, and losing to the good ones? Or, have you started to see that Jim Leavitt isn't the guy that's going to take this program any further? See you in Arizona.

  10. Flip, please don't question Nostradumbass .....

TripleB...you're my hero because you can Message Board bash. Nice job. Tried to make peace, but screw it. You're incest-like love-fest of trying to impress fellow posters is sickening.

No, Pittsburgh IS NOT a good team. Which of their 6 wins confused you? Was it The Citadel or maybe Virginia? Guess it wasn't their lost to Michigan State which is so bad that they fired their coach mid-season. When USF beats UL or WVU

I'll be impressed. Until then you can bash all you want.

Building a team by beating up on some crappy teams and getting to bowl games is one thing. Thinking they are beating elite teams to do it is another. The one game they had to showcase this season they got drubbed, and in pathetic fashion on national TV.

  11. you didnt gloat about being right, you gloated about rarely being wrong.  slight difference there.  but hey, big of you to admit you should be wrong.

Guess you've never heard of sarcasm? But, still not wrong...yet. This team still hasn't beaten a good team and was embarassed by Cincy - which, I said was better than people gave them credit for being.

  12. See, no problem here admitting to it. And, like I said awhile back, I'm glad I was wrong.

USF takes care of Pitt today to get to 6 wins and become bowl eligible. Most likely they will take care of Syracuse next week to get to 7 wins, and keep my .500 - or less - prediction from coming true. I would really like to see them take out Syracuse and then upset either Louisville or West Virginia, but at this point will take 7-5.

So, next time you want to bash me just remember I may gloat somewhat when I'm right, but also admit when I am wrong.  ;)

  13. I live in Ohio (hint the user name) and people all around Ohio & Michigan watched that game last night with great interest. Obviously, the main reason is that the winner of the OSU/UM game would most likely play the winner of that game in the National Championship if they won out.

Listened to sports radio driving into work this morning and they were talking about the game, the Big East, NC implications, etc. It was just a great showcase for the Big East. And, the Big East gets another boost next week when Louisville goes to play Rutgers. Games like these are going to make this a much better conference.
