USC loses to UCLA
ND loses to USC
Ark loses to LSU
UF loses to Ark
and some how Louisville looks like they really are the 2nd best team in front of Michigan. However, I doubt it happens at this point.
Wow ! That's quite a scenario. I think UM will be in if SC loses to ND

miami will chop schiano out of RU
Very likely!
-
It's texas or nothing for me. I can't make B'ham on the 23rd - family commitments.
Thanks for the research!

Wow! I don't see this happening for our bulls any time soon at RJS.
I'm sure this was negoatiated prior to to the stadium being buit. Remember Pitt has been playing ball for a very long time with a few NC under their belt.

Just saw Alvarez on the FOX NFL post game show. He mentioned that all of the computer polls picked RU 2nd or 3rd. He suggested that there was something suspect with the computer rankings.
The computer rankings are the most objective rankings out there, especially if all six agree, at the very least RU is not getting the respect they deserve. I would counter his point and suggest that the other polls are flawed not giving RU enough credit.

That list, as a whole, is more impressive than the SEC's OOC wins ...
Do you happen to know the SEC's list?
It would be interesting to know for comparison.
-
No way FL is #3. Let's see where the computers rank them. Of course the BCS is the only one that counts.

Thanks Jim.
WVU in NC game? After yesterday's upsets anything could happen.
-
I think USC now has the best shot at No.2 , but they will have to beat an angry Cal team and ND.
-
Great pictures. Thanks for the link!

Next year opponent's fans will travel well
UCF
L'ville

I saw the same rant on PTI. It just infuriated me. I never really thought much of him in the past, but now I have very little respect for his opinion.
It's not that I disagree with him. It's the manner in which he made his point that angered me. It almost appeared that he was being paid by the SEC. What made it worse was that neither of the hosts defended the Big East.
He stated that no Big East team deserved the a shot at the NC even if UL was undefeated. His point was that the Big East has not beaten anyone of consequence, only Maryland OOC. He completely belittled the very impressive BE's OOC record, by stating that the teams that were beaten had an avreage of a 4-7 record. I would really like to see OOC records for the other conferences and their average records.
This arguement is exactly what's wrong with the system. Bring on the ployoffs. I'm sure I probably won't see it in my lifetime. :

Rutgers.... #3
Louisville.... #11
Based on this it looks like Rutgers may be ranked higher than most people are expecting.
-
Pretty smart of the Big East to back load the schedules. It's paying off with exposure.
Do you think this was planned?
If so "Brilliant"!!!!!!!!

With WVU, Ville, and Rutgers all slated to play each other in the next month, their computer rankings will rise. I believe that WVU will win out, but it would be interesting to see what happens if it is Rutgers that wins out.
Who knows??? Rutgers has Louisville at home in 2 weeks and WVU on the Road the last game of the season. That'll be another big game.
-
Have to beat at leat Pitt for any credibility

Where is Steve getting his SOS numbers?
According to the NCAA, Rutgers is #33 in SOS...

Interesting link:
For those saying that an undefeated Big East team will not play in the championship game.  Look at these numbers.  I think it's very clear that an undefeated Big East team will have a great shot at playing for the NC.
Current
Rank Team  Past Opp Wining %  Fut Opp Wining%
6 Florida   .69   .48
18 WVU   .44   .74
24 UL   .48   .72

yep, and texas is almost the same computer average as WVU, and much lower than louisville's.  texas played rice, sam houston state, north texas, and OSU, their only tough OOC game.
So based on this, a win for UL or WVU this thursday, should launch them in the computer rankings and strehghten their position.  Right now WVU is barley better than UF.
-
Saw the show on Fox. Barry Alvarez believes that the winner of the OSU-UM game and the WVU-UL game will play for the nat. champ if they win out.
That should seem obvious, but with the computer rankings ranking WVU and UL so low, who knows what will happen
-
8-5 We will beat both Pitt and Syracuse and beat a CUSA team in the Birmingham Bowl
Call me optimistic, but I think it'll happen.
-
Respect for RU.
I think we have a good chance of beating Pitt., cinci first!

Yup! It'll be subjective, perception of who is more deserving. This system is so messed up. Can we really respect the National Champ in Football as the National Champ?
