-
Proctor might replace Graman.

I did not know the score. The best part is the game was a double header but the second game was CHESS.
Come on.....don't leave us hanging.......who won the chess match?

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia 76ers (news) hired Jim O'Brien as coach Tuesday, handing the former Boston Celtics (news) coach a team that could be on the verge of a major rebuilding project.
O'Brien replaces Chris Ford, who was promoted from assistant on an interim basis after Randy Ayers was fired on Feb. 10. O'Brien will be introduced as Philadelphia's 20th head coach at a 3 p.m. news conference Wednesday.
O'Brien stepped down as coach of the Celtics on Jan. 27 after clashing with Danny Ainge, the team's executive director of basketball operations. O'Brien was 139-119 with the Celtics and led them to the Eastern Conference finals and semifinals the last two seasons.
He'll be the third coach to lead the Sixers since Hall of Famer Larry Brown stepped down last May. Brown, who spent six seasons in Philadelphia, coaches the Detroit Pistons (news).
Ayers, an assistant under Brown with the Sixers, was fired after posting a 21-31 record. Ford, who had several run-ins with All-Star guard Allen Iverson, led Philadelphia to a 12-18 record, and the team missed the playoffs for the first time since the 1997-98 season.
A Philadelphia native who attended Roman Catholic High School and Saint Joseph's, O'Brien is the son-in-law of Hall of Fame coach Jack Ramsay. The Celtics were 22-24 when O'Brien resigned midway through his fourth season.
The Sixers are entering a pivotal offseason.
Though Iverson is signed through 2008-09, it's possible he could be traded this summer. Several other veterans, including Derrick Coleman, Glenn Robinson, Eric Snow and Aaron McKie, also might be made available.
O'Brien's tenure in Boston ended because he and Ainge had different views on personnel. Ainge wanted to build a younger, more offensive team. O'Brien relied on veterans who were strong defenders.
O'Brien, 52, spent the last seven seasons with the Celtics, joining them as an assistant coach in 1997. He replaced Rick Pitino in 2001.

the entire city is cursed
Don't forget about the 16 time world champion Celtics!!!
ONLY the SOX are CURSED!!!
-
they count the same in April as they do in August
Yeah, but not like they do in September and October!!! ;D
Have you cleaned up the mess on your keyboard yet after finding out about the Dillon trade?
-
CINCINNATI -- Running back Corey Dillon got his wish Monday when the Cincinnati Bengals traded him to the New England Patriots for a second-round draft pick.
-
I did not even know about it.
I am waiting for one of the monuments anyway.
-
Don't get to excited about winning in April.
-
Actually, it's been 86 years. =)
Just seems like 100. ;D
-
They just play for the Yankees. ;D
-
i'd be willing to bet there are more Yanks/Sox fans in tampa than Devil Rays... so i guess it is a Tampa issue anyhow.
Just like at the games..........more Yanks and Sox fans than Rays fans.
I-95 goes 2 ways. One of them being NORTH.The other direction is SOUTH.....why don't you go till it ends then get on a boat and go to Cuba.....you will love it there..........everyone roots for the same team!!!
-
This whole thread makes me sick!  Why should anyone on this board care about the O's, the Sox the Yanks or the BoSox.  This is a Tampa Sports board, not a "My other favorite team board"  if they didn't play the Rays, I couldn't give a sh@t how any of em did.  Screw em all as far as I'm concerned.
You root for your team the rest of us will root for our teams. Last time I checked there was still some freedom of speech left in this country.

First place Yanks travel to Beantown. I am looking forward to seeing how all the new Yankees react. They have never been involved in anything like this before.
I bet they have good security in the bullpen! ;D
-
Sorry can't help it!!!
The bad news is he has a habit of doing this early in the year and when the weather warms up so does he.
-
Even if the Skins struggle at first...... I know Gibbs will be working on knocking off the rust as opposed to playing golf everyday.
