  1. Chat today.....

John Waldwick, NJ: Bruce there's a lot of talk about how many games a WVU, Rutgers, or Louisville would lose if they were in the SEC. But what would a team from the SEC, take the big two this year Florida and Arkansas be if they were in the Big East?

Bruce Feldman: (1:56 PM ET ) Not sure.. if UF played like they did the last few weeks, they might lose in the Big East too. Thing is, and this is why I think the SEC is extra tough is that after teams play and LSU, they are so beaten up, it's not easy for them the next week. You don't hear about that kind of hang over effect from a UCONN or a USF.

  2. Before the second half of the UNC game Teachey was punting the ball normaly and hitting it like 50 yards, why won't Leavitt let him try this in the game?  Our punt game is effective until they bring in another guy and  he catches it on the fly.

  3. actually just saw this on NFL.com

Lions' Davis taken off field on stretcher

    NFL.com wire reports

ST. LOUIS (Oct. 1, 2006) -- Detroit Lions guard Frank Davis was taken off the field on a truck after he injured his neck on the opening kickoff of the second half in a game against the Rams.

Davis was taken to a hospital, but had movement in his arms and legs, Rams spokesman Rick Smith said.

Davis was blocking on the return when he went down at about the Detroit 17.

He was down for several minutes, during which trainers unscrewed the face mask from his helmet. He was placed on a board, then lifted onto the back of a truck.

Players from both teams stood on the field silently, some bending to one knee.

Davis, a 6-foot-3, 325-pound undrafted free-agent from South Florida, was signed by the Lions on May 4.

  4. did anyone else notice that he got carried off on a stretcher from today's game.  He was forming the wedge on a kick return and got knocked out.  He was moving his hands and arms but they carried him off just to be safe.  Don't really have any more of an update then that.

  5. First of all, it was great to see another great turnout of students and their enthusiasm throughout the game.  It seems like the football game is starting to become the 'thing to do'.

Looking at student section last night, I couldn't help but think that it would be great if there was some sort of concerted effort to wear the same color, especially on national TV.  Last night, from where I sat, you really couldn't have looked at that end of the field and determined what our colors were if you didn't already know.

I realize that this is an issue with the rest of the stands, as well, but maybe something started by the students will spread.

Body paint excluded, is it possible for the SBC to call for a 'Green Out' for the UConn game?

I completely agree with you that there should be a shirt made for the students to wear to every home game.  Last night watching the Iowa game, all their students were wearing the same Gold shirt.  Next week against Boston College, FSU is asking everyone to wear Black shirts (as Nike made them special black uniforms for the game).

Something needs to get done, remember a couple of years ago for bball they passed out gold shirts for the Florida game and then Green for the Memphis game, it looked pretty sweet on tv.
