;D Since our game? ;D
Just wondering.......
Yep! You're still a dumbass! Thanks for stopping by.
-
Then there's the toolbag saying, "If UTEP beat us by 45 and USF beat us by 7, then UTEP would beat USF by 38!"
So much for those high admissions standards.
-
A conference champ this year?! A top 25 team in the near future?!
Everything old is new again! ;D

Back when they did fill up that place, they won 58 home games in a row. 58-game winning streak at home = tough place to play.
+1
Although if the poll is counting "recent" history, the OB should not even be in the discussion.
That recent history only goes back a couple of years. I still remember that Miami-UF game in '03 where the Gators coughed up a 23-point lead in about 10 minutes.

Orange Bowl shouldn't even be a blip. If you can't fill up the stadium, it isn't any tougher than any other place.

I hate how all those commercials have those soft images, like they filmed them in someone's dream.

I am waiting for "Jamies" follow up comments on "Doesn't that Grothe thread teach everyone etc.etc..."
Not in this thread. And just because it actually is true doesn't change the point I was trying to make.
Anyway, back on topic... not very good of Leavitt to be so aloof or ignorant about what his star quarterback is doing to make money. This goes back to what I said last year, he needs to take a more active role in making sure his players don't do stupid things off the field.

This is like the college freshman who meets a new boyfriend/girlfriend, but can't stop talking about the one they had from back in high school. If they meant that much to you, why aren't you still with them?
I mean, it's not THAT much harder to get into UF than it is to get into USF. If she's talented enough to be an editor at the Oracle, I imagine she could have at least gotten herself admitted to UF if that's where she wanted to go. This isn't a Communist country, you can go to whatever university will have you.
-
At least it's not confined to USF coverage... the entire Tribune sports department is a cesspool of crap.

It's not so much what he wrote, it's just that Fennelly is such a little shrew that every so often he drops in on some topic he doesn't know much about and commits a total drive-by.

That place is right in the middle of Suitcase City. If the cops get called, they probably come in ready to bust some heads because they've seen it too many times before.
-
So you're saying CJL upgraded at that position?

Someday, someone in Texas will know why I have this "U" sticker on the top of my back windshield.

With that thought, could Jose Fernandez move over to the men?  Has that ever been done before in D1 BB?  I'm not saying it should happen but it seems to me to be somewhat of an intriguing option.
LSU's interim women's coach was a men's assistant when Shaq was there.

Romar didn't exactly set the world on fire at Saint Louis, but Washington hired him away and he's done very well for himself there. Fortunately in this conference, there wouldn't be too many schools that could come along and poach the HC if they had some success.
-
This does not need to happen on the same weekend as the football game. USF could win by 45 points in football and lose by 1 in basketball (both of which are entirely possible) and UCiF would consider that a tie, therefore their athletic program and school and city and girls and lives and whatever are just as good as USF's.
-
Kentucky would be the best place for Huggins to land if they really think he's rehabilitated. He could immediately reopen all those recruiting doors he had in Ohio, while still being able to show up at kids' houses and say "We're Kentucky, come play for us."
Plus he would want and could probably demand the kind of salary that only a Kentucky or a couple other places could afford.
-
USFDan makes a good point. How many teams would get into the NCAAs from that non-football BE conference? Maybe three? That's a lot of money those schools would be leaving on the table in the form of tournament shares.
Also, in referencing teams that should have gotten in, no one pointed out that a couple of lower-conference teams that were getting in anyway (Nevada, Xavier, etc.) lost in their conference tournaments, which made it harder for a bubble team to get in. Imagine if NC State or Arkansas had won today.

Does Texas have a law against paying public employees more than $300K? I mean, obviously the football coaches at the public universities (of which Texas Tech is one) make a lot more. I'll have to look into that.

They are talking about running Bobby Lutz out of town.  ;D
http://blogs.charlotte.com/tom_talks/2007/03/lutz_shouldnt_b.html
Sounds a lot like the Seth fleeing for Virginia Tech scenario, doesn't it? This is the first down year Charlotte has had in something like 20 years. I would jump all over Lutz if those fans were stupid enough to run him off. He's having a hard time recruiting for the Atlantic 10 (wow, we get to play Dayton and St. Bonaventure, good times!) and it would be a lot easier recruiting to play in the Big East.
-
Oh the irony indeed. Seth had a vastly superior team, yet they couldn't make their free throws and choked away the game. Man, that NEVER happened at USF!
-
If SG had had more hard-working, overachieving guys like Cedric on his team and fewer guys who didn't play up to their talent, he might still be here and USF probably would have made the NCAAs at some point.
-
Anyone remember Bobby Lutz? Charlotte just had their first off year in forever (they went to the Atlantic 10 after C-USA dissolved), but the guy can recruit like a mother and he plays a style that players love. Plus I remember JEWBULL telling us about his salary needs a few years ago as related during a USF-Charlotte game. What was it, $500K?

Did anyone notice that UTEP's kicker drilled a 64-yard field goal against the Knights? God really does hate that team.
