Really?? After beating those teams, we became nationally ranked and got a ton of respect. Instead of building on that momentum, we would **** the bed against teams we should've beat.

If we would've not constantly free fallen after beating the "big boys" we wouldn't have been left behind.

And we wouldn't be having this conversation. It is sad we couldn't handle a little cold weather at Rutgers

Agree with this, but my point is that really didn't garner us any special respect nor did it aid us in the business partner department when expansion occurred.

Mostly because our program derailed when Jim Leavitt was asked to step down and honestly we haven't really got the same hype. Fans stopped supporting and losses filled the right column under Skipper and even Taggart in his first year.

Well, that is one way to look at it.  Florida teams see a benefit because they know they can fill that stadium up as if it was a home game.  I for one do not view that as advantageous.

The only reason its an advantage is because we have the oppertunity to beat them and get a name for our program. UCF on the other hand can hardly schedule a game with them.

Will the genius waving the flamingo in the end zone which our team is kicking into PLEASE SIT DOWN AND PUT THE FLAMINGO AWAY. There were two flamingos being waved midline in our kickers view which were being waved while our own kicker was kicking. WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?!?

    Someone dislikes the flamingo lol

Bowl Game everyone should get a flamingo

I am working on it. This ticket was like a ticket master ticket so it did have more than a bar code but not the usual fancy and larger bowl ticket. I have them all and want to keep the collection going (we played Western Kentucky in the Miami Bowl not Northern Illinois...we played that team in the International Bowl back in 08). USF gets the bowl tickets today so should find out if the bowl even has souvenir tickets or not.

oh yeah western kentucky taggarts old team. See yall thats why you keep the tickets.

  6. Email Jose Gaspar himself and ask him why 😂... when you paid for the ticket it asked you if you wanted to print from home or have it shipped to an address and those were additional fees. I have a feeling that is where your can find you answer. I would think they would ship an actual ticket and not a piece of paper. Having a collection of bowl game tickets its pretty cool, the Miami Beach Bowl Tickets where the super cool when we went up against Northern Illinois.

It's is ALL just opinion ..... I'll repeat his question, in YOUR opinion, who should they replace in the playoff and why? That's the crux of the conversation here.

I guess UCF should replace Oklahoma and there will be 4 undefeated teams in the playoff.

Spoken like a true ESPN analyst. It's amazing how effective their dribble is that you actually believe that. Then again, if usf actually ran the table two years in a row - you absolutely would not be saying that.

and we were 2 games off from running the table last year... if we had Taggart another year with his senior recruit Flowers, we would have went for it all.

Just for funzies and because, again, I am a giant data nerd.

Using total wins as a proxy for fan interest (WinsT1+WinsT2), current Sagarin scores as a proxy for total team strength (SagScoreT1+SagScoreT2, higher is better), and the absolute value of the difference between the two scores as a proxy for the variation of strength between the two teams (ABS(SagScoreT1-SagScoreT2) lower is better) and then ranking the three measures and then summing the ranks (lower is better) I came up with a somewhat objective emotionless value to rank the bowl games. Interestingly UCF's game should, according to this theoretical model, garner the most interest. 3rd in combined wins, 7th in total team strength and 6th in comparative difference between the teams. The Gasparilla Bowl landed right in the middle, the most interesting is that the combined strength of the two teams is 36th out of the 39 bowls but the difference between the two teams was small enough that it should be a fairly competitive game, and thus, interesting game.
