It’s almost impossible to Judge Tim McLean or the offense last year. It was clear they had talent however there was so much pressure put on them by the defense meaning they have to score an every possession in order to stay in the game. For a veteran quarterback that would be extremely difficult let alone a freshman. I believe that if the defense improves this year you’re going to see a vast improvement on the offense  and a major improvement in wins

That’s why I believe that The success of this hire is going to depend on the success of the defensive coordinator

IMO it’s impossible for Division I athletes to be that bad offensively. CBG teams have been terrible offensively. I believe that’s 100% coaching and philosophy. If CBG stays he needs to hire someone to fix that problem because obviously he is not capable of doing it.

I would give him an A+

They are so terrible on the offensive end it’s just impossible to watch them I turned the game off.

The announcer just made the understatement of the year that USF is offensively challenged no kidding

I don’t believe it’s fair to judge him by the last years because of the Covid BS. His résumé is Very good and it appears that he chose USF over other options. I’m going to be an optimist and feel like he’s going to do a great job on the defense. The caveat being can they attract some talent on the defensive line.

There was a lot of complaining last year including by myself about defense not being very aggressive it sounds like he builds his defense around aggressiveness we shall see.

As I watched that game last night it’s abundantly clear. That this tteams needs not has to need to score more points in transition because they’re low post office is terrible. 
Their very athletic & excellent defenders. I also believe they have some shooters but with no low post threat, it makes it very difficult to get good outside looks

He made a bunch of freshmen mistake by holding onto the ball and trying to make a play he’ll learn that this is not high school and will get much better he’s got a lot of skill

on a positive note the defense played like a defense and made a lot of tackles

Offensively they need to make the defense respect the quarterback and the end around when they run the option. That was a bad decision on the third down call by the QB it was wide open if you keep it and maybe UCF never gets the ball back

It’s a great move but I believe Way too late. Not saying that they could’ve won eight games with a better defensive effort they would’ve won five or six.

No way he’s fired after year two. But their will be staff changes ESPECIALLY ON DEFENSE. 
one major question though is how can you be so thin on defense did he not foresee this and take corrective action. 
 

I have  not turned off the game in forever but I think I’ve had enough

It’s very frustrating watching this team play.

If there is not a new defensive coordinator next year then CJS Ability to run this program needs to be questioned

there is no excuse that after 10 games you see zero improvement. 

How in gods name can you be that bad on defense OMG

My son who is a graduate of university Miami and a huge fan just said he read in the Miami Herald that the USF AD Mike Kelly is a possible candidate for the UM job

USF needs D linemen and edge rushers period

IMO they have skill players on defense. They are horribly coached and constantly out of position. Their tackling is horrendous again coaching. Look at the offense they had a bad half that happens at everyone but the had a super 2nd half & with an average D they would have really put pressure on Cincy. The special teams are special.

good coaches take average talent and make them competitive bad coaches take average talent and make them poor unfortunately that is the story of the USF defense. A clear sign of bad coaching NO IMPROVEMENT.

USF has athletes on defense the coaching is absolutely horrendous

The defense doesn’t even compete they really need new coaching on that side of the ball

A good coach will make an average team good in a poor team average a bad coach will take an average team and make them poor and a Poor Team and make them horrendous. This is the state of the USF defense.

Again I am totally convinced the personal cannot be that bad on D
