  1. I think part of it has to do with the fact that SMU was 1-5.  We received praise in equal measure with the Mustangs but they received more attention because the program wasn't doing well.  You heard announcers doing it with us a lot last couple of years.  Its like the announcers are trying to reassure the viewer that the "bad" team isn't as bad as they seem and they have a lot of promise.

In addition TV markets are pretty big to play to, and Dallas has a much bigger TV market than we do.  All in all I think it was pretty well casted.

  2. No matter how bad we may be.  No matter how often we blow halftime leads or get crushed by superior teams under Taggart, I have been steeled to the soul-crushing pain of our losses by watching my Browns lose in every way possible since 1999.

Chin up fellows.  We still have some pride in old South Florida.

(I died a little inside again today)

  3. He's always on the "hot seat"...according to that site, he was10-3 last yr and is 4-1 this yr, why would you get rid of that?

15 years, 2 Conference titles and a 140-49 record.  In most books that is stellar.  But his most recent conference title is 2005, he and his teams have watched as 4 different teams from his conference have gone on to win 7 National Titles in that span, and he loses the games that matter most (as we all saw this weekend).

Georgia may be tired of the 10 win ceiling and looking to get someone else.  I wonder who that sounds like....

  4. Well we know our defense made adjustments.  Clearly that shows something about some of our defensive coaches.

The offense however....I'm putting that 100% squarely on the shoulders of CWT.  No adjustments.  Super conservative game plan.  If he hasn't turned his play-calling around in 2 1/3 years, how can i expect this team to get better under him?

  5. Looked like he was more frustrated in the second half when he would get stuffed.  Even if he got 3 yards he was still pretty upset.

I think he either knew it wasn't going to work before they ran it or the play didn't develop the right way.  He got the ball really far behind the line a few times.  Confidence is wearing down on this team, even in the best of players.

  6. I'm flashing back to October 2012...  Up 20-3 at the half against the Orange.  The season might be turning around.  Then disaster strikes.  The 'Cuse roar back to tie us.  Then we go up 30-20 in the 3rd.  The Orange come back within a TD. We make a kick up 33-27.  'Cuse makes a heroic comeback for the ages to win by a point.  The season is doomed.

That was my introduction to USF homecoming.  :')  I want Revenge.

  7. I've been following the team since 2009, and started attending in 2012.

Since 2012, USF is 10-30.  (Think of the seniors)

Since Taggart has taken over in 2013, USF is 7-21.  Of those 21 losses, 18 have been by 2 possessions OR MORE.  Only one win has been secured by more than one possession (FAMU).

We're 1-3 this year.  I don't see many more wins on this schedule.  Its actually pretty tough.  We may pull off one good win and who knows we may get lucky and pull off the win against UCF on Thanksgiving.  But this team hasn't given me any reason to hope for more than maybe 2 more wins this year.  We may have played well tonight on defense, but our offense has to be scared.  That may be the weakest defense we face for a while.

I'd like to hold out hope for a miracle season from here on out, but this team has given me no reason to do so.
