  1. Of course. So Temple owns the land where they want to build but the community and even students(!) are against it for no reason. They say it will ruin their quality of life, and I don't know if you guys know about Temple's neighborhood, but it's ummm not so nice. The mayor is on the anti-stadium side too which makes no sense. I'm not optimistic. How does the OCS look for you guys? I went to the sun dome for the USF-ECU hoops game last year and I spoke with a football ticket rep who seemed optimistic
  2. I've only talked about Schiano with my buddies who I have season tix with. I know he left a bad taste in Tampa fans mouths but I think he would be a solid hire. He's a defensive minded guy who resurrected Rutgers briefly. I'm sure he does have recruiting ties in the area still and he was a former coach at Penn State, and Temple has had a good record with Penn State guys. I'd be ok with giving him a shot as head coach why not?
  3. I have a lot of respect for USF and their fans as well. Of the in-conference fans I've communicated with you guys are by far the most knowledgeable and civil. I just wish more Temple fans would start hating ECU as much as I do. I do think you guys have a real good chance at landing a big name coach. I think Temple gets stuck elevating one of their assistants.
  4. OCS looks very bad moving forward. Next year is just ND and after that the Owls start series with Maryland, Rutgers, and BC. Then in the 2020s there's a series with Oklahoma. No reason to have a good OCS anymore for both of our schools because we know you can just be Western Michigan and go undefeated playing absolute trash and you go to the NY6.
  5. Temple guy here. Last season Temple lost I think 3 players on defense to the NFL and replaced them pretty well. I think you are all sleeping on Temple's returning offense next year probably lead by a highly touted QB in Russo and RB Armstead, along with a lot of returning WR talent. I don't know about USF but Temple is a school totally committed to football at this point. The on-campus indoor/outdoor practice facilities are first-class and Temple just has to recruit against PSU and Rutgers, (we don't really recruit out west against pitt, our bread and butter is NJ recruits) putting them second on the totem pole around here when, I mean no disrespect here, you guys are at best the 4th option in your state. Also is there a guarantee that Mack isn't declaring for draft? I'm think that USF is a fine job to get, but I wouldn't say it's a "no doubt about it" better job than Temple is.
  6. HI Brad, Thank you for the welcome. Full disclosure to everyone here, I am a Temple grad and I was referred here by a USF grad I have been talking to through the "American Conference Fans" Facebook group. We have had great conversation and I like reading message boards full of passionate fans. I throw in my 2 cents here and there but I'm not here to be a troll, I have great respect for USF and their fans. I was actually in Tampa last year and went to the Sundome to catch a basketball game, you have a beautiful campus. I just wanna see some good American Conference talk and hopefully I can add some insight as an outside. Temple and USF are not so different. We both play in NFL stadiums, we both are trying to get an on-campus stadium, we both play in big cities, and we both are trying to take the next step in football and be perennially ranked teams among other things. Oh, and we both probably have a distaste for ECU and their fans who love to flaunt their conference championships against a conference full of "The Little Sisters of the Poor." Im rambling now, anyway good luck this weekend, get the job done because Temple could very well throw up a dud. (A dud against ECU would kill me though.) Sam
