  1.

    Don't feed the troll.

Not sure why people are so anal about starting a new thread. Do I really have to read thru the "in game" thread and make my post there that has nothing to do with the in game thread?

No, you don't have to read through the whole thread, all you had to do is go to the last page, where it becomes pretty obvious what the answer to your question was.

So policing a forum is what you do for fun? That is cute.

  2. You all talk about how you want USF to be like the "big boys", but then say things, such as:

I'm livid... apparently USF only interviewed Taggart and Nutt, and failed to interview Petrino or Davis. So we get a Sun Belt coach with a losing overall record, and WKU gets an SEC coach (Petrino), and FIU is about to get Butch ******* Davis.

There is a reason Petrino is going to a Sun Belt school.

There is a reason Butch "Academic Misconduct" Davis (credit to Hawaii Bull) is going to a Sun Belt school.

... Unless you think USF has standards on par with the Sun Belt.

  3. screw USF. Im just in here to screw with you morons who think USF will ever get to the level of Florida or Florida State. It will NEVER happen. Just keep spending money hiring and firing your coaches. Hell, USF has to travel 10 miles to play their home football games. Thats the mark of a real football school.

So what community college did you come out of? HCC? TCC? Santa Fe?

Btdubs. Lesson 1 to trolling: You do not admit you are trolling.

  4. Skip was a solid stand up guy. He just didn't get it all put together at USF. From his time at ECU there's definitely some coaching talent of some sort in there. He was truly successful at that program. Someone will pick him up eventually. Too be honest, I'd love to see him replace Pasqualoni at UConn. He was a stand up guy on the way out and I think he truly wanted another year. He thought he could eventually turn it around.

I wish him nothing but the best in the future, but at the same time I think it was his time to leave USF.

Excpet for the part where we actually beat him in a bowl game and then hired him. Other than that I agree...to a degree

Well that settles that. Any time we defeat someone, the other team must have a poor coach.

  5. You obviously need to understand more definitions than just assault and battery.

You also need to understand what a true "outside firm" is vis a vis a retained attorney, as well as what it means when a charge is an allegation.

Lastly, no outside firm, independent or otherwise, can make it "true". The only ones that saw what was alleged to have happened in that locker room tell different stories. We all know Miller lied openly from the start as did his purse-snatching dad. You are assuming Leavitt lied, or using another person's words as your proof.

I'd like us to leave it alone, because continued talk from people like you do nothing but enflame and exaggerate the situation further destroying the genesis of our program and the majority of its young history - and the reputation of the guy that built it.

Lastly to your more general exaggerated claim, most do not believe a player should be struck by a coach. It's not necessary. But it helps your description of those that disagree with you. And in this case are often the ones that would prefer facts to guide judgement in this situation and not exaggeration, drama and hyperbole.

    +1

This guy. I like this guy.

  6. Trumped up charge? Leavitt assaulted a player. He is lucky he did not get criminal charges pressed against him. If that happened, then Leavitt would have had more to worry about than losing his job. If he choked the player, then the asault would have become a felony.

Assaulting another person, even if it is a college football player, is still a crime.

It is advisable before playing an attorney on a message board that you learn the difference between battery and assault.

How is that you can differentiate between a misdemeanor and felony, but can't between assault and battery? Do you just make it up as you go? Just tells me you really do not know what you're talking about... you're just going off your gut reaction to the situation rather than what the law is.

  7. Does anyone else wonder if this is the best way to go about this, no search firm involved? Especially with the number of openings. Those firms provide a lot of footwork that Woolard now has to do such as looking up stats and salaries.

We will not be utilizing a search firm in the traditional sense but we may seek assistance in terms of search logistics, background checks and vetting of candidates. I will be communicating with leading individuals at all levels of football in America as this process moves forward.

Who needs a search firm when he can read this wonderful board full of insightful information.

  8. Bubba you really need to lose the R word from your vocabulary. To many parents of special needs children that word is demeaning and cruel. It hasn't been in use for a while because of it's demeaing intent. I am sure you don't mean it that way, but i would just lose it entirely to spare those folks who may be fighting to bring up a child of any ilk in today's complicated world.

I hear what you are saying, but I'm old school and don't obey "Political Correctness".

Not trying to be a turd, but sick of people renaming things over and over and over and over and over and over again because someone is offended in some way or shape.

  9. I think I've seen enough complaints here to warrant setting this dumping ground aside for his trolling ... so PP, if you notice any of your posts or threads missing, check here. Those USF fans who want to play along with him can still do so.

Why the hostility, Trip? Why are you afraid of a realistic discussion about hiring college football coaches?

Your thread that I moved here, that prompted this, was the perfect example of how you're NOT really here for realistic discussion.

    Realistic discussion?

There is a thread dedicated to people talking about "If I won the powerball!"

    ...

  10. Ok, so does Nippert. are you basing this off of having been there or off of the tweet that was sent out earlier? Cause I went to school there for 5 years and went to every home game and I can tell you there is indoor plumbing. They added porta pottys to the outside wall of the stadium to alleviate the time it took to get through the bathrooms because Nippert never saw the crowds it had until recently with success and many complained it took an entire quarter to go to the bathroom. TUC (student center) is also connected to the stadium and bathrooms are open throughout the game. The normal stadium bathrooms are next to each concession stand.

You should know by now that half the things people say on this board are repeated-baseless-garbage they saw elsewhere.

Ballsy statement from someone with only 25 posts...

Ballsy statement from someone who posted 25 times, but has read thousands of posts since 2007. Long-time lurker.

  12. The Big East is dead or at least it should be. C-USA is probably about to die too. Perhaps we should start from scratch and focus more on a new Southern conference. A conference of USF, UCF, Georgia State, East Carolina, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Arkansas State, Tulsa, Houston, SMU, UTSA, and Texas State has much better long-term viability.

:05-nono: Do not want. May as well throw in Tulane while you are at it.

Tulane has a hard enough time maintaining a viable FBS program. Louisiana Tech would be the better pick. Starting a new conference would allow us to kick Tulane, Southern Miss and UAB to the curb since they don't offer a whole lot.

I'm glad you picked up on my sarcasm.
