  1. Fine, bring him in as recruiting coordinator, but not as head coach.

We just went through a 3-year experiment with hiring an up-and-coming head coach from a program below us in the hierarchy. How'd that work out, huh?

I'd rather hire an OC or DC from a school above us than another HC from a school below us.

I see your point but isn't recruiting the HC's job ultimately? He's the deal closer

  2. I feel WillieT is going to have some pull in the bay area. I thought I already saw Coach Cal made some positive remarks about him? I was a big CJL guy and will always have a spot but he never seemed to pull down the big guns from local HS.

As many have stated, recruiting the talent is one thing but developing is another. You have to have the talent though in order to develop.

I'm willing to endure some lumps and see what this guy is capable of. I'm very curious!

  3. I just wanted to let everyone know.. Just because the twitterverse hasn't, "broken" the story that your favorite candidate has spoken with USF doesn't mean that USF has not reached out to them and/or their agents. Not everyone lets these stories leak.

Could you please re-post this in 120 characters or less so that I may better understand

  4. Skip was a solid stand up guy. He just didn't get it all put together at USF. From his time at ECU there's definitely some coaching talent of some sort in there. He was truly successful at that program. Someone will pick him up eventually. Too be honest, I'd love to see him replace Pasqualoni at UConn. He was a stand up guy on the way out and I think he truly wanted another year. He thought he could eventually turn it around.

I wish him nothing but the best in the future, but at the same time I think it was his time to leave USF.

Excpet for the part where we actually beat him in a bowl game and then hired him. Other than that I agree...to a degree

Well that settles that. Any time we defeat someone, the other team must have a poor coach.

    YiiiiiiiiUUUUUP!!!
