  1. Great game - a classic tale of two halves. Run roughshod over the Big East - I didn't think I would be a fan of a team from the Big East, but you've just been adopted. I hope you kick the snot out of Boise and SDSU in the coming years.

Also, I look forward to driving down to Tampa in 2015 ( i will be moving to Destin in a few weeks).

Well we only got this year with boise and san diego state but it would be fun to beat both of them.

  2. That is was a good and clean game between the two teams but both teams appear will not be coming out unscathed of injuries which is unfortuate and hopefully none of them are that serious though. It was an entertaining game which I was hoping it would be and keep people entertained until the end. Even though you guys won, I think that our team was still the better team yesterday but good luck the rest of the year and let's both turn some heads with South Florida and Nevada winning their conferences this year.

Good luck the rest of the year and hopefully how this game went does both teams well for the rest of the season. Its been a pleasure.

Clearly the better team won, but I respect The Wolfpack and it's fans. Looking forward to 2015 and hope you can make the trip to Tampa.

We might it will depend on what happens between then and now. Of course it would give us an excuse to go see Disney World again at the same time.

  4. Its not so much the punt it was three very vanilla plays they called up the middle before that play instead of running what they had been running the entire game and in the fourth quarter. That is what most of the people are angry about but also not knowing our history, this same thing happened three times last year, happened against Texas Tech and Hawaii in the past. What upsets people is that instead of going for the throat of the opponent in those situations, they decide to change their strategy and go more to the not to lose stategy. That is what most are upset about especially after seeing it three times last year against Texas Tech, Louisiana Tech and Utah State. Then come into this season with it almost happening last week against Cal and then seeing it happen this week against South Florida. Its more of a history thing.

  5. It has been a very interesting week here and hope for a well played, tough but injury free game. And hope its a close game to keep the masses entertained.

And I believe that once Nevada wins tomorrow, the fans over here will be more gracious than on the cal board. :)

Thanks for putting up with us and since going the game tomorrow and then work after teh game won't be able to get on here until late tomorrow night for some final goodbyes.

    But let's enjoy the game.

    Go Wolf Pack!!!!!

  6. The one arguement that really pisses me off is when people saying we have more talent so we should win just because they are in a BCS conference. That is just spewing ESPN and CBS jargon. Why even play the games then? I guess Nevada should just call in and not show because they are facing a more "talented" team.

Any team can beat any team on any given day and not a lot can be based on talent. You have different breaks that happen in the game that affects the outcome of a game.

However based on that I think the big key to the game will be turnovers if either team turns the ball over a lot than that team will be in trouble.

  7. and talking about how Big East could look worse if USF loses to Nevada. Last night I realized something, nothing absolutely nothing you guys can do this year will bring down the Big East. And why is that? Just look up to Pennslyvania and the Pitt Panthers. Get their butts handed to them in consecutive weeks from a I-AA team Youngstown St and then Cincinnati last night.

I think you guys are safe.

  8. 1. Set the edge & not overpursue on the back side. Giddins and company must stay at home and not allow Fajardo and Stephens to get to the outside. They need to funnel these 2 guys into the middle allowing Porkchop and our linebackers to mop them up. Most of Nevada's offense came from these 2 guys and combined for 54 carries between them we can't allow them to find success with their read options and draw plays.

    2. Pressure Fajardo: Make him uncomfortable by bringing pressure right up the middle. Force him to throw into blitzes and 2 the outside. We cant allow him to hit the short crosses through the middle of the field. Our corners need to jam Wimberly up who is a big target at 6'3 215 almost same make up as Michael Floyd clearly not as talented but if allowed to roam the middle could do some damage.

    3. Offensive tempo: We need to be able to sustain drives to help our defense stay fresh we can't afford too many 3 and outs. Find a way to run the ball and keep BJ out of 3rd and long. We need to impose our will on offense as I think our defense will impose its will on Nevada, our offense just needs to do its part.

I think the Bulls can win this game! I dont think they are thinking about Rutgers yet there are too many seniors that know what happens when you think like that.

    GO BULLS!

    Bulls: 31

    Wolfpack: 17

We only played on RB last Saturday but we have 4 others behind him that all have experience and played last year in this offense. It surprised all of us he went all the way with just one running back

  9. The Bulls Have Landed in Reno......on to Victory....pretty nice casino hotel to be staying at. Assume we are getting a pretty good deal. Do most visiting teams stay there?

It depends some have stayed downtime and others have stayed out of town. Peppermill though is a pretty nice hotel and think everyone would enjoy it. So it just depends I think on deals and what the team feels comfortable with and what's avaiable. With the balloon races this weekend going on, there might not have been a lot downtown but personally probably would like to stay at Peppermill or Atlantis more than downtown right now. Less distractions also

  10. While visiting out there a few weeks ago, ran into some gal whose parents are season ticket holders and they were way pissed that ticket prices went up (I believe she said to $35) because of the new conference. I have no idea if that is hurting ticket sales but it can't be helping.

Actually most of the season ticket prices went down. Only a few went up.

Most of the cheaper ones went down but some did go up where we are they went up some money this year. We were this close on not renewing because wouldn't have enough money

  11. I watched Rutgers replay the other night against Tulane and personally I don't think Rutgers is that good and maybe go out on another limb, if Tulane can give Rutgers problems than I think Nevada would be able to beat them. I think it was Chris ault who said one time there are two seasons in college football. There is the conference season and then there is the other season. His whole philosophy is the other season helps you prepare for the conference season but usually its the first game of the conference season that can sent the tone on how you do in the conference season.

You want momentum going into the conference season but losing OOC games won't affect your conference title hopes. So I think the Rutgers game for you guys is more of a tone setting for this team than this game will be.

  12. Brock Marion and Nate Burleson have donated money to the university since they left in fact I think Brock paid for a new locker room to be built. Some others that played football here that played some in the NFL were Bryan Reeves and Alex Van Dyke. Trevor Insley also played for the Colts and was a starter at one point until a career ending ankle injury in a football game.

Jeff Rowe and Kaep are the only two QB's from Nevada that have made done something in the NFL which is interesting with all the pretty good QBs that have come through here in the years.

I think we have a few guys that were signed to the practice squads for the team as well.

Chris Ault has also been sought after by some NFL teams to their QB coaches but he each time decided to remain at Nevada.

  13. However our AD also counts attendance differently than just about every other AD across the country and she even got called on it by the Board of Regents here in Nevada. She says she counts the butts in the seats instead of tickets sold but also with some free tickets she gives away for every game, we will never have a sell out at the stadium.

The Stadium is nice and are making improvements but the major part is there is never any advertising for games that are coming up at the stadium. Watching local TV here all week between myself and my parents we haven't seen one advertisment for the game coming up this saturday. Not a one plus this game will be on tv so many people will stay home and watch it on TV instead of going to the stadium.

When we get a new AD next year, hopefully they will rethink the entire situation because we used to sell the stadium out every week before moving into the WAC and losing for all those years.

But a few consistant years of high win totals wouldn't hurt either.

  14. Personally I think Ault is being very kind to Fajardo maybe at their peak Fajardo could be better than Kaep but that is soemthing to be seen and at this point no.

Pistol is also about reading what the defense is doing and that is the QB reading the defense. We only used one running back against Cal which surprised us because we are four deep at running back and again we ran a very vanilla offense especially after we got ahead because let's face it teh vanilla offense was working against Cal so why throw in wrinkles when you don't have to?

I think we will see more people play, more wrinkles used against South Florida to keep teh defense guessing on what is coming next. If this game is close, I expect it to come down to if the Wolf Pack can control the clock enough to where it wears down the defense I say the win comes in the fourth.

another key is if South Florida gets ahead big early, that could change a few things as well.
