  1. HeyHey,

He was talking about Eveld playing terrible last year bc I said he didn't look amazing and his comment was in regards to that remark I made about Bobby Eveld.

As for Litton, he is an exceptional player and anyone that throws for 2000 yards in Florida's upper classification is a great player especially if they are only a Soph. as you would expect them to only get better. Anyone that says different has never played football at that high of a level when considering there are teams in Florida that will have backups get D-1 schollies(Dillard 1999 off the top of my head). Obviously teams like LSU don't offer a kid when they are a soph. unless they are absolutely certain that the player they are offering is one of the best in the country and talented enough to desrve a scholarship, which should say it all.

    Got ya. Thanks

Does Chase have a workout w/ LSU scheduled?

  3. Looks solid, but watching his mechanics it makes me question if he can pull the same plays off against the best of the best. He is more of a finesse thrower and doesn't have the arm strength to throw across the field in tight coverage or threading the needle. Although some QB's can make up for that by having that clutch gene, moxy or flat out athleticism, which he def. has. I just don't see why he would want to compete yr in yr out at schools like UT, UM or LSU b/c they'll have those players that have all the physical attributes to show off during practice(could hurt his psyche) since it seems like his strength is more of a product of him being a gamer. If I had to pick between him or Eveld, I would take Bobby as he has a cannon for an arm, pro style QB size and athleticism(dual sport athlete). I know last yr he didn't look amazing but he's still young and needs to develop and especially gain a good 25lbs.

Let's call it as it is....he played terrible last year. As long as we need the depth he will be a back up here, otherwise I don't see him getting much playing time.

Terrible, well if 2000 passing yards a 10th grader is terrible, I would love to would

To know your standard for at least what would be considered

    ...maybe average. Please tell us...

  4. Don't care for that quote about being "stuck at USF"

With dad in his corner, Vernon Hargreaves has recruiting edge

Wharton DB Vernon Hargreaves III is arguably the top recruit to come out of the Bay-area for the Class of 2013.By Ryan Bass, Bright House Sports Network

    PINELLAS PARK --

In middle school, Vernon Hargreaves III couldn't have ever imagined what would become the norm today.

Lights, cameras, letters, and not to mention nearly every major college in the country wanting the Wharton defensive back to wear their colors.

"I never thought this was going to happen, I only started playing football in eighth grade," Hargreaves said, who currently holds over 30 offers from some of the top football programs in the nation. "I saw [former Plant running back] James Wilder Jr. when I first moved here, and then a few years later, it was me. It kind of shocked me at first, but now I'm kind of used to it."

The constant phone calls from coaches, media, and not to mention twitter followers is all but normal for the Wildcats star, but he has one thing most high-profile recruits don't: someone in his corner to help him through it.

His father, Vernon, is an assistant coach at USF and spends most of his time recruiting athletes just like his son.

"If I have any questions, I can always just ask him," Hargreaves said. "Most kids, they will go to a coach who they think is telling them the truth...but I know my dad will always look out for me. I know he's going to tell me what's right."

Yes, the Bulls are one of the schools recruiting Hargreaves, but no, his father is not pressuring him to go there.

"A lot of people don't understand that coaching, it's not like a secure job," Hargreaves said. "He can get fired and go to somewhere like Western Kentucky and, before you even know it, I'd be stuck at USF. A lot of people don't understand that. I like [south Florida], the head coach and the coaching staff, but just because he is there doesn't really mean anything."

Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford and USC are just some of the schools interested in luring Hargreaves to their campus. He's rated a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, and the second-best player at his position in the country. ESPN has tabbed him the fourth-best player in their top 150 recruits in the nation.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has visited just about every Florida school on his list, including, most recently, Miami, a place he used to call home when he was a little boy.

"I loved [my visit]," Hargreaves said. "My dad coached down there for nine years. Nothing has really changed, but they have a lot of stuff going on down there.

"They are rebuilding everything, really. I just loved it, it brought back good memories."

Hargreaves will be participating in Nike and ESPN's "The Opening" camp in Oregon next week, and then will hit the recruiting trail. USC, Stanford, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama are on the agenda, before taking a second look at all the in-state schools again. For now, there is no leader for the senior cornerback.

"I can't really count all of the out-of-state schools out, because I haven't been there," he said. "I like all the Florida schools. I like Georgia and Clemson. I'm going to go out to USC and Oregon. I'll have more when I get back."

Despite all the attention, Hargreaves continues to remain grounded, all with a little advice from pops.

"He's just told me to stay humble, in a way," he said. "Don't get too excited about one program and count others out, just see everybody and see which one you like. You don't have to make it a big deal, just relax and take it all in."

    Ouch Stuck at USF...?

  5. I don't know, but BCP sometimes throws a few too many superlatives at Bay Area talent(it is their only focus). If this guy was truly as amazing as they say he is, he would most likely have a better offer list. not always mind you, but usually.

Since they are local, they are usually ahead of the curve on kids in the area. Auggie has been moving up on their list.

I loved his brother who was USF special teams captain. Armando. though, didn't have his size to really play LB at USF.

I am not raining down on the talent of either of the bros. I am just saying sometimes BCP plays up local talent a little farther than national evaluators do.I still appreciate and value what they do. I am still not dissuaded from the young man's talent.I was just cautioning to be careful about the "kids in our backyard, bias". I hope he's a stud and if he likes us and we like him, history begins. I as much or more than anyone, love a dark horse.

    I agree with you 100%

  6. Well the pundits seem to be all over the board on Richardson. What i want to know, is why we have zero highlights or game film from Richardson???? Somebody has to get this kid some exposure. i mean he has 4 major D-1 offers and no film up? What is that? I want to see the kid in action. Someone, please help. I mean even if it takes Triple B dragging his tired old *ss out to an Armwood game, and capturing it on his mint condition Betamax., i mean how big a sacrifice is that. Need to stay home in your jammies on Friday night?i have a visual image, but i warn it is not for the faint at heart. Rock and roll, dude.

Would be good if he would start and maybe even finish a game no?

  7. Interesting points to note. FL and FSU not listed For AW. Blake McLain still has us listed and Taylor Marini TE has us on his short list. Shawn Curtis OL still has us up there and JoJo Kemp is still right up there on our radar and we on his. We are hitting central FL hard. I think it's great recruiting ground for us, we are far enough away for the guys to feel like they are leaving home, but close enough for mom to come to games.

    Taylor Marini chooses RU.

    Josh Newberg â€@joshnewberg247

A big reason Rutgers landed Taylor Marini is b/c of his relationship with coach Panagos. Panagos recruited him at UCF before leaving for RU

I can confirm that TE Taylor Marini has committed to #Rutgers (Free Link) -- http://ow.ly/bRprz
