  1. You keep QF but call more play action passes. If you watch last night QF was running for his life on many pass plays only thing that kept them being sacks was his elusiveness. So call quicker short passes along with the runs to keep the defense from crowding line like they were doing last night.

Its the play calling the bigger problem than QF

this. WWe're running the ball great. Throw something like a screen or play action in there just to keep the d honest. Play calling is predictable and this is coming from joe schmo on the couch.

  2. He is our guy....i dont care what anyone says, he throws a good ball when given time, the receivers need to help!!!

Yes!!! He is very accurate when given some time. Hard to find QBs like that. Just need that OL to keep getting better. Every since being called out, the OL has given White more time. Too bad we didnt have that during Maryand as we should have won that game. The OL gave that game away to Maryland.

No, its not hard to find qbs that are accurate when given time. Those are called high school quarter backs. Any decent qb best be accurate when given time or else its time for a new position or sport.

  3. Not the most nimble QB in the pocket and that 300lb Wisky lineman almost chased him down when he was flushed out of the pocket. White in the pocket with no pressure isn't too bad....BUT any pressure in the pocket and he doesn't seem to have real good pocket presence, doesn't really move up in the pocket to avoid pressure, kinda dances around.

Nailed it. The kid can throw decent if the pocket is clean. Otherwise he's terrible. There has to be a better option for qb.

  4. meh....their whole offense was screen passes for the most part. Their QB hardly every kept it for more than 2 seconds unless the pressure was on. We likely wont see that kind of offense again for the rest of the season so I wouldnt use last night as our defensive barometer. Just look at the first two games from last year. All about matchups.

Really? You don't think opposing coaches will watch game tape to see what our weaknesses are? Expect another heavy dose

I've seen quite a few posts questioning USF's ability to find a successful successor to Stan Heath. And quite frankly, I do not get it. You look at a our last 3 hires, and initially, they all looked pretty **** good.

Stan Heath was hired after 2 years of NCAAT appearences, something USF fans still dream of, and also a successful assistant stint with MSU. While clearly he did not succeed at USF, back in 2007, this looked like a quality hire.

Skip Holtz camein after 2 conference championships and 4 straight bowl appearances. I'll be honest, just about everyone around here was ecstatic with this hire. In 2009, this looked like a fantastic hire.

Willie Taggart, probably looks like our worst hire so far since McCollum. Decent success in the Sun Belt, but so far, the program seems like it has the potential to turn it around.

And, looking at the list USF is compiling, with Steve Masiello looking to be leading. I think USF will make a good decision in the end.

I agree with you on Heath, Holtz, and Taggert. Many prefer to play Monday morning QB then state this as the last 5 years have been disappointing.

As for having confidence in USF and the AAC to land a good hire, I believe the ultimate issue is our conference. With the demise of the BE, the AAC and new BE will decline as a destination conference to coach in. You are already starting to see this with Pearl and Williams. Heath probably wishes he stayed at Arkansaw. Masiello is probably a perfect hire for USF, young and good pedigree just like Taggart, but I believe USF's biggest challenge to landing him is whether or not he believes he can have another good year or two at Manhattan and land a job in AAC, Big Ten or SEC. I don't believe USF is as desirable as some think.

This is exactly it.  Before USF was on the upswing and seemed like a place that could really take off. We were starting to get some national attention and things were looking like we just needed a bump in order to make the next big step.  Then we hired the schmuck Holtz and everything went down the toilet.  We went to a crappy conference that we will be trying to dig ourselves out of for years if not longer.  Now we're just another mid level school at rock bottom.

Hopefully Taggart can bring us back to the upward trend.

  6. They had 10 wins against garbage opposition. Again, if consistently winning 10 games against trash opponents gets you in, Boise State would be on the inside looking out. But they aren't, because wins and losses have nothing to do with anything.

And losing to crappy FCS teams should get you in?  No one, including a lot of people in Tampa want to watch USF football.  Our attendance is atrocious.  It's going to take a long time to dig out of this hole.

UCF beat Baylor... A big XII team.

I would not be shocked if UCF looks more attractive to the big XII. We have two wins and lose to an FCS school while UCF goes on to beat the big 12 champion and have a 1 loss season. UCF looks a lot more ready to compete and have an on campus stadium.

Wins and losses have nothing to do with it. Rutgers. Pitt. Syracuse. Boise State.

Wins and losses have nothing to do with it. Rutgers. Pitt. Syracuse. Boise State.

How many times does it have to be repeated?

And even if wins and losses had anything to do with it, why would UCF's two or three noteworthy wins in 35 years of playing football be enough to push them over the edge? Yeah, because the Big XII administrators are so clueless that they must assume games played within the past three weeks must represent the way things always were and always will be.

    You are wrong.

Syracuse and Pitt have national championships and history. Those are wins. It's not recent history bit it's still huge. History is big. Not to mention they have elite basketball programs. Boise is not in the footprint of big 12 and the PAC will not take them no matter how much they win. I'll give u Rutgers but their more about increasing tv dollars. WVU rode a couple BCS wins all the way to the b12 and UCF may do the same.

So Syracuse and Pitt got in despite sucking lately because of their history.

But UCF is going to the Big XII despite their history of sucking because they had two impressive wins this year.

    Got it.

3 of the last 4 years they have had 10+ wins.  It's what have you done for me lately.  Their first year in FBS and they won the conference championship.  UCF is a better prospect than USF as of now.  Please stop being so delusion and come to reality.

  8. From all the talk it sounds like we should be USiF.

Can then win if Bortles leave

    If GOL leave

If they keep winning big game.

Some of these comments make me embarassed to be a USF fan.  We're all excited and happy when we win big games and have a good season.

UCF just had a great season and all I see are ifs, excuses, and other garbage.
