  1. Didn't know TBP had parody accounts.

this has been my account for a long time, buddy.

sorry i'm excited about this program and didn't swallow an entire bottle of sleeping pills or **** my wrists at halftime, only to run to the ER halfway thru the 4th quarter to get my stomach pump and my veins stitched up because we don't actually suck and Mike White is the best QB USF has seen since BJ.

  2. was it a horrible lack of fundamentals? yeah. but he's a freshman. hard to be mad at the kid when he made the play in the first place. when was the last time USF even used a fullback, nevermind have one that can catch the ball and run with it? it is a much welcomed wrinkle.

and at the very least he flipped the field and put Wisconsin inside their 10. the defense had MULTIPLE chances to stop that 9 minute drive... to put the game on him is bunk IMO, especially when we would still have been behind even WITH a TD there instead of a fumble.

  3. CWT is already better than Shiz Holtz. Holtz won with the leftovers of Leavitt's talent and his wins decreased each year, exposing his absolute inability to 1) recruit effectively and 2) develop talent. what we saw in his 3-9 season was the true Holtz, not the Clemson-slaying, ND beater we saw early in his brief tenure.

CWT can recruit. his young guys are already outperforming the Holtz leftovers. we can't afford to pay another coach, and starting over from scratch AGAIN before CWT even has a chance to see his recruits hit their junior and senior years would be just another waste of contract.

with Holtz we NEEDED to cut him to stop the downward spiral. with CWT i think we've already seen some improvement. give him time.

  4. i was one of the first to say fire Leavitt and i would gladly admit my error and say bring him back.

unfortunately the "sociopolitical" climate surrounding sports right now is ULTRA SENSITIVE PC so if Da Shaft and whoever the AD is now rehire an old coach who was fired for *ALLEGEDLY* putting the smack down on a player, u can bet your ass ESPN would bury us. with Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson dominating sports headlines... no way they bring back Leavitt, no matter HOW dubious the evidence was, or whether what CJL actually did was worthy of termination.

now if he'd crashed his motorcycle while smashing his assistant, or whatever, he'd be back already. (speaking of which, why didn't we bring in Petrino?)

on a side note, it speaks volumes about the state of the program when Bulls fans are buying "FireWillieTaggart" domains to bank on the program's demise.

IMO, firing Willie right now makes no sense. the crowds at RayJay are already thin, and most coaches worth having are coaching already. as horrible as the pro-style offense is, White has never been able to take snaps in any formation. he dropped a perfect snap in the shotgun this afternoon. he is absolutely horrible. and this team doesn't have depth at the skill positions to outlast B5 teams after **** Holtz left the cupboard bare.

look at the games... WCU played us tough the first couple quarters because they got up for us, but our better talent allowed us to outlast their FCS talent. we played Maryland tough for 2+ qtrs but their B5 talent outlasted us. we played NCState well for a quarter and almost had the lead and HUGE momentum, but a bad break turned it around and NCState's B5 talent took over.

this team needs to build not just talent but DEPTH. some of the best players on the field are freshmen. one full year of recruiting is not enough to fill the hole Holtz took a Skip in.

  5. Sorry I was at dinner but Greeks are currently in recruitment meaning that we are recruiting the freshmen to join each of our organizations. First off let me say that since the hazing scandals that plagued the news a few years ago USF's greek has become one of the strictest I have ever heard of. (That is based on me having conversations with greeks from other universities and living through it myself and having to deal with some of the ridiculous rules we have)

Recruitment is set up different by the genders so I will explain

    For the women:

Last night was at the discretion of each organizations president whether they would allow their chapter to attend the game as they had recruitment at about 7:30 this morning. Some organizations presidents allowed them to attend some didnt. I would say about 50% of the chapters were allowed to go. But this saturday the ladies actually have their second to last day of recruitment on saturday. (The second to last day arguably being the most important day in their recruitment as that is when you decided which you will be joining.) The girls will start about 8am saturday and wont be done until wayyyyyy after the game finishes. So all of the ladies who are in organizations already and all of the 600 freshman girls who are going through recruitment will not be allowed to attend the game.

    For the men:

This is another recruitment conflict and has to do with USFs harsh greek rules. We will be in recruitment by next saturday and at that point we will not be able to talk to any perspective young men looking to join a fraternity especially cant have the danger of them attending a tailgate  . Therefore most of the fraternity presidents are going to bar their chapter from attending the game and tailgating in order to protect the organization from getting suspended. (I know how insane that sounds but fraternities have been suspended lately for much less). I know of a few organizations that are going to watch the games together at their respective houses instead of risking going to the game.  Its just not worth going to the game and being found to violate one of the rules and make the whole organizations suffer.

I can clarify if something doesnt make sense thats a really condensed version. I would love to talk to someone about the greek community partnering with athletics. Mr. Harlan has done an AMAZING job getting with student government but I feel as if he is yet to tap into the greek community as a resource.

in summary: Greek rhymes with ECU.

Guys, I don't care who he's playing against, tying a record of 275 yards rushing in his first game, and tying the record of 4 TDs is amazing.

Yes, tougher foes will make it tough sledding, but here's what he has, regardless: his lateral cuts, stop/starts and burst from start to full speed is the best I've EVER seen at USF. Yes, it was WCU, but those skills can't be denied.

    My only knocks on Mack:

Ball security. Lost a fumble, and fumbled out of of bounds on one play.

Letting up running on 2 of the long TDs. A faster team will catch, strip & recover if he lets up. I think Taggart spoke to him about it, but he really needs to work on this.

Still, he brought a ton of energy & spark to a team desperately in need. He won't have this success against other foes, but hopefully White & Co (or Bench) will improve, so we don't need to rely on RB. Smazza was right...other teams will stuff the box until we prove we have other plays that work.

On the fumble the ball was actually punched out. I don't hold that against him as he was holding it against his body correctly.

maybe he needs to work on his strength then...  /devil's advocate

Mack IS our offense until anyone else at the skill positions can prove otherwise.

tying the record for rush yards and TDs first game out should earn him the starting job the rest of the year.

did he put some balls on the turf?  yes.

but ball security techniques can be coached. the athletic talents he displayed (as "summarized" by ckparrot shamelessly quoting himself), cannot. u either have it or u don't and Mack has it.

and Mack is about all USF has right now.

  7. I'm just saying that what Mack did was against a cupcake but the records for USF include these type games, over the life of the program. And it being their first college game, a true freshman just makes it more remarkable. The ESPN End Zone highlights for the day were all P5 and included plays against cupcakes. It included, for example, a run against South Dakota St by a Missouri RB.

     point noted.

just not psyched about the game. at all.

although there is improvement. last year we lose this game.

i like Mack. he's from down this way. Booker product. the south Bay area-- Bradenton, Sarasota, Palmetto-- has plenty of talent.

  8.

Sad thing is not being on a P5 team he won't get nearly any press at all.

do FBS teams USUALLY get press for running up stats against cupcake FCS home openers?

show anybody a box score for that game and the first thing anyone will notice is that we barely squeaked by our cupcake FCS home opener...

and if they DO notice Mack's incredible game, they'll say we needed a school record rushing performance just to beat the ******* West Carolina Catamounts.

i am happy for the kid, perhaps the only bright spot on the offense (Mike White is horrible and thus so is our pass game), but  it wasn't 5 years ago we would have EXPECTED a big game against this kind of team.

shows u where we're at as a program right now, and the future does NOT look bright.

Do USF's all time records only include against FBS teams?

    what?
