@HookemBoard: Looking more and more like USF to the Big 12: What do you guys think about USF if the Big 12 and Fo... http://t.co/MXUNgSZN6Q #247Sports

feel bad for the USF guy who posts this stuff on their board...Texas just being...well...Texas.

If you ask me, that USF asked for it.  Posting on their board inviting us to their conference.   It'd be different if a Texas fan posted that USF was looking likely.  That's like a Memphis fan coming on here with the preposterous notion that they were getting added...wait, nevermind...

I belong to the USF 247 site and that guy, usfbull, is a joke. All his posts are rambling nonsense. It's embarrassing as to see him to go out there as a representative of USF with that stuff.

  2. Even if he gets drafted.  It does not guarantee the majors.  Most likely ridiing the bus in tripple  or double A.

He could be playing infront of 40,000 fans in Ramond Jame in 2 years.

    Go Bulls

Believe me, I'd love to see it, I just don't think it's in the cards UNLESS something strange happens baseball-wise.

He was at Manatee when our old coach (holtz) pulled some scholarships at Manatee..with the leavitt leaving USF Very unvavorable.. This realy needs to be fixed.

    .

Offering him and lettling him develop in both sports is also in his best interest.

He was offered and had no interest in coming to USF... ever...

  3. We have recent history pulling dark horse Eric Lee out of Daphne. Here is another puzzler. 6'3" 215# Pro Style QB with a quick release. A true pocket passer who was in today for the 1 day. No offers, no rating. But look at this film. Kind of an unconventional release,Don't care too much for his footwork but great pocket presence(watch the fake at 2:55) and a quick flick down the field. His throwing motion doesn't seem to effect his ability to go long(i mean who ever loved Favre's throwing motion).

I've watched a lot of QB film this year and I think this kid is a sleeper. Remember Eric Lee came in as a 2 star recruit from Daphne and is now pushing the 2-deep in his real Freshman year. Ima thinking I like some of these overlooked AL players.

Hey Bill, you like stalking subscriber sites and then posting info on a player like you discovered them? You clearly got this kid's name from 247 then went and found info on him because this kids name was NEVER mentioned until yesterday and conveniently a thread on him appears today...

  4. If were going off high school performance, Darrell Scott would be 1 on the depth charts

Right but Blakely is much closer to his HS days then Scott is. When Scott was at CU there were many issues with his work ethic and playing shape. Not of that has come up with Blakely. I know it's not as easy as him coming in and being handed the top spot. I was merely referring to his abilities compared to the rest. I think he'd be the best back he have so the other guys would not really be of a concern.

  5. I am baffled by how much attention hes getting on here. Why is a 3 star (or 2 star on espn) QB who is going to have to move to defense when he gets here getting so much attention? Who really cares? If he comes here good, if not oh well.

God I wish people would read threads before they go spouting off like this. It's been stated before but I'll say it again. Grady is a leader and a great athlete. He also has the respect of MANY recruits in the Tampa Bay area. Who do you think helped get Davis and Gonzalez here? Grady's impact will be felt on and off the field and goes way beyond stars.

  6. Grady must be driving his parents nuts.

Sounds like he is gone since his parents are partial towards USF. Ehhh, I know I should care, but I don't.

Actually, his parents are not all that high on USF for some reason and this could be a good thing.

  7. I think it's funny how big a deal this kid seems to think he is...if he comes to USF great, but frankly, he isnt playing QB here and we are stocked at safety right now so if he goes elswhere that fine.  He isnt a 4 or 5 star recruit, so why treat it like a game and act like you are such a big deal?

Grady is a big deal. It may not show in his star rating but what he means for this class and for classes down the road. He is a smart kid and a leader. The Bay area kids have the utmost respect for Josh as they've played in 7-on-7 tourneys and summer leagues together for a while. He is also a gifted athlete that will succeed regardless of what position he plays. Plus like many others have said, he's just having some fun with all of this and that's his right. You may not like it but he is certainly allowed to do all this.

  8. Also, Iowa State, apparently, doesn't have a med shool and he wants to become an MD. USF  has a very good med school and he would have a much easier time setting up a practice in his own back yard. I suspect that Holtz didn't promise him a chance to play QB, and that's apparently what he prefers, which makes his decsion tougher.

Iowa State does not have a med school however; the pre-med program is top notch.  Many students take that route and get into elite med schools out of Iowa State.  My brother took that route and is a very successful MD.  Mr. Grady will have to complete an undergrad program before med school no matter where he choses to go.  From what I have gathered he would have a shot at QB at Iowa State.

He seems like a heck of a kid and whatever program he decides to attend will have a good kid to work with.

BTW, we all loved Wally Burnham. I had a chance to speak with him in Charlotte during our bowl game. One of his sons still works at USF athletics. Do you know if he is the one recruiting Grady?

I do understand that you have a fine pre med program, but USF offers a fast track to undergraduates becoming an MD through their med school. USF also lets undergraduates train and do research with the med school. The USF Honors program is also among the best.

I'm sure Grady will make a wise decision for himself. I wish him all the best, whatever he decides.

    He is.

  9. I would be quite surprised if he doesn't come to usf.  its a legacy thing.

From what I've heard, USF hasn't flat out said "No to QB" just that they think his best bet is at S.

  10. Looks like Lindsey Lamar 2.0.

+1 and we already have one of those in Hopkins.

But that's not true though. Lamar and Hopkins are 5'9" and 5'8" respectively. Devin is 5'11" and is a legitimate WR unlike the other two. He has good hands and speed, had over 120 catches, 2,200 yards and 20+ TDs between his Sophomore and Junior years and was having another great season this year last I saw.
